I booked this B&B for my friend and I after reading all of their rave reviews on other sites, so I admittedly went in with quite high expectations, thinking it would be rather exceptional...and it was fine. Given that it's one of the cheapest places for private rooms in Brisbane, it was adequate. The beds are small and look a bit threadbare with tiny, thin pillows. Tight quarters and overall slightly depressing rooms. Bathrooms are shared (though I think there was a next option up with private bathrooms) and nicely clean, with good showers. We never had problems with lines or anything. The breakfast is a fairly basic cereal and toast (with jam/vegemite/peanut butter, etc.) The staff were quite pleasant though seemed rather busy when we were there. They said we could leave stuff there while we were out and about on our checkout day (before catching a train in the afternoon), but it turned out there wasn't any actual locked space to do this in...they just had us leave it in the corner in the dining room...which was fine in the end but certainly made us nervous, and we consequently ended up taking a bit more with us than planned. The location is one of the best features - easy walking distance of the train station (especially once you figure out the closest entrance!) and close to downtown and the river. The house itself is also quite cool, with lots of antiques and knick-knacks. Overall, a perfectly acceptable spot for the price! read more
