To begin with, Journey Church is a pretty big church with lots of visitors. They have plenty of parking and there are volunteers directing traffic. There is a tent for new visitors with lots of information. I got there while worshipping was happening and I felt the spirit through their songs. I loved how at home I felt by this. Immediately after it Pastor JJ Vasquez started preaching and, wow! He is funny, informative about the word, and keeps you fully engaged.

I grew up in church my whole life, but I finally feel growth in my walk with God since I started at Journey. I see God in every millisecond of my life. God has been transforming me from the inside without anyone needing to touch me or force anything on me. God's word alone has been the focal point of my growth. Sermon series are so impactful. Just a real life changer with sermons that do not require you to have so much knowledge on the Bible but yet drive you to grow eager to gain that knowledge.

It's a small church, but there is plenty of parking and plenty of seats. The seats are extra large, for the typical American. So come on in and get blessed! The sermon was held by the secondary pastor. He was very well spoken and did not distract us by playing in his pockets or saying Uh and Um like many nearby church pastors. There were several references to scripture, which I love. Kids these days (even adults!) don't know the Bible. We really need to get in the Word and get familiar. Attendees were friendly. Communion was germ free!!!! You go get your small cup and your tiny piece of bread and you don't have to touch anyone or sip from the same cup. Thank You, Jesus! The service was germ free, apart from the associate pastor shaking my hand at the door. I hate when they ask you to turn to your neighbor and shake their hand. This church does not do that. I am thrilled! Worship was a few songs up front and one at the end. The words are large on the screen so you can see them if you don't know the tune. Offerings are collected by basket, by text or online. Pretty easy. There is some sort of coffee thing at the back, I've never stopped to check it out. They have childcare. Bathrooms are clean. There are frequent small groups and ways to get involved that can be found on the flyer or on the bulletin board. If you're looking for a neighborhood church that is friendly and bible based, this is your spot. Join us.

This review is not meant to endorse or critique a place of worship or services. I visited the auditorium for a concert on Friday. The lobby was small, but still nice with decorations. I didn't see any concession stands, so we ate somewhere else before the event. When we got to our seats, we noticed that our tickets weren't checked, even at the entrance. We sat in our assigned seats anyways, which was at the balcony. The seat was a typical arena style seat, but it was comfortable enough. The AC inside was cold and perfect. Looks like the venue is able to hold about 2000 guests. We had no issues viewing the orchestra and the monitors there. The bathrooms in the balcony area was small and only accommodated a couple people at a time, so there was a little wait. Though, it was pretty clean. Other than the security screening, we didn't see much staff at the venue. Wasn't sure whether the screening was common at the venue, or requested by the concert people, but the security staff were mostly polite and professional. They did however, leave immediately after the show. There was staff to help with parking and heading to the venue, but that was it. Parking was free and ample, so it was a plus compared to other venues. For a concert, I would visit the venue again. However, I would be aware of the lack of concessions inside, security screening requirements to enter, and not much staff indoors. But the free parking, comfortable seating, and great AC makes this a nice choice.

The fair for kids was free and it was pretty cool, it is a nice event for kids of all ages with free candy and games for them to play plus they had horses they could ride and animals they could hold, first time here and I never knew this event happened every year. Will bring my nephew again next year in the fall. Even though I have never been inside the church, I think it is nice of them to do this for free.

I was invited by my daughter and son-in-law, and have to tell you, Rob Duford, the lead pastor, just blew me away on my very first visit. He is a wonderful speaker, with a contagious sense of humor, and is emphatic about teaching Bible truths; not giving us his opinion of what God's Word actually says. Aside from that, it is probably one of the most welcoming churches I've ever attended. From the moment I stepped through the front doors, I felt at home, and never felt that anywhere else. There was a comment left by another reviewer that seemed to focus on the gay issue and even stated they "felt" the congregation was bigoted. How very different my experience has been. Does the church embrace the gay lifestyle--no, because it is not Biblical. Yet, at the same time, they would not make an issue of being gay. I'm pretty sure there are at least a few gay people who attend and from my observation seem to fit right in with everyone else, and I've never heard anyone slander anyone else for being gay. Again, the issue is a Biblical one, and because part of the church's mission is to teach Biblical truths, they cannot endorse something that is contrary to the scriptures. Sorry, don't mean to be preachy here. The children's/teens ministry is amazing. Zach and Laura lead these groups and the kids adore them. All of my grandchildren, from teens to elementary, attend and love going. This year they brought back the annual Christmas Candy Cane hunt, and all the kids were in on it. It was a huge success reaching out to the community during the Christmas holiday season. Long story short, if you're looking for a church home....one where everyone knows your name and the pastor teaches Biblical truth, then Orlando North just might be the church you call home.

We have been a part of the church for more than a decade. I don't like to say "attend" because…read morebeing a part of a local church body is how we follow Jesus, whereas "attending" kind of implies that "going to church" is simply something an activity you add on to your daily life. You worship together with other believers, you serve each other and serve the community, you care for and get involved in one another's lives. That's what a "church" is supposed to be. Orlando North has been the place we've found to be able to do that. Orlando North itself follows the reformed theological tradition. It's not mainline Protestant but it's also not charismatic or pentecostal. Whenever people talk about a church, there's a temptation to start "grading" it on its various aspects. No matter what church you're involved with, you're not going to think everything is exactly the best in the world. But it doesn't have to be. What it does need to be is a place where you can serve Jesus and worship with other believers - a place that both equips you to do that and gives you the opportunity. The children's ministry are headed by Zach and Laura, who have a love for kids and an enthusiasm for teaching kids and young people about Jesus that is palpable. Orlando North has cycled through different "curriculums" - GUTS, Orange - but I believe what they've settled on in the last few years is a good one. But no matter what, the people are what make the difference, and Laura/Zach are great ones. I did want to touch on a couple of elements that someone else brought up ( I don't know them, and I have to acknowledge from the outside that people see what they see, so whatever they said was their interpretation of what they observed). I was bothered by the bigotry-LGBTQ comment because I've never observed that. There are a lot of "culture war" arguments that have seeped into the American Church writ large. Yet, even in the middle of a time where many churches in our country are fracturing and dividing because people can't agree about politics and these kinds of issues, one of the refreshing things about Orlando North is that the church body seems to make an effort not to divide over these things. Everyone has their own views and there's diversity of opinion in all things here. Politics and social issues are no exception - we have people who will be voting for Trump in Nov '24 and people who will be voting for Biden in Nov '24. And they know who the other is and it doesn't matter to them. You don't see the church dividing over it, because everyone realizes that no matter if you disagree with another Christian, what we agree on is most important and it overrides everything else - that Jesus is Lord and we are serving Him by serving the world. So, with the respect to what they believe they observed, I suspect that they were bothered by, as they put it "they believe in the one-man-one-woman theory" (since they mentioned that specifically). And yet, that "theory" been the historic orthodox Christian position on such issues for more than a millenium. Orlando North doesn't preach fire and brimstone about it. They hold it as a statement of faith along with other things. I suspect that someone who strongly disagreed about that would assume that a church that holds to the traditional orthodox view is "homophobic". And that's really too bad, because that's a view that really contradicts the actual nature of how the church body of Orlando North treats people no matter what their sexuality is or their views are on other things. I was also bothered by their comments on the 2017 beach retreat (which feels weird commenting about, seven years on), and about the role of the pastor's wife. I do know Melanie has filled many positions in the church, yet it's very common in churches for church staff to be paid to fill multiple roles. Somebody has to do that work. I don't know if they were bothered by her being paid to provide professional services, but for me, having been in churches my whole life, it's better for a church to pay someone than to require professional services for free. And 7 years on, Orlando North now has other people that fill that role. Specifically regarding the '17 Beach Retreat, again, I don't know why the person interpreted whatever they saw in that way. My wife and I have been to every beach retreat the church has done since before 2015, and I don't remember that retreat in the way they were describing, at all. Rob would never preach such a message, and I hope that with the passing on time, that person has been able to form different memories about the church than those things they cited. If not, then we failed them as a church body. So, to wrap all this up, Orlando North seems like a great place to worship Jesus and follow Him along with other people seeking to do the same thing.

While I do not condone what was revealed about Ron Smith, how it was handled, broadcasted, and then left on the internet for everyone to tune in and hear was and is absolutely horrific. The arrogance of the pastor's opening statements leading into a personal and saddening story of a man who lost his soul due to his sins being found out left me speechless. To drag a man's name so far through the mud but leave his pictures on the website and all over social media creates no doubt that the new leadership and staff who did this handled such a tragedy with such carelessness. It saddens me even to have to write this as a Yelp review. It absolutely destroyed me to see how this was handled by the church/Christians, and it will continue until the church removes the sermon.
