To begin with, Journey Church is a pretty big church with lots of visitors. They have plenty of parking and there are volunteers directing traffic. There is a tent for new visitors with lots of information. I got there while worshipping was happening and I felt the spirit through their songs. I loved how at home I felt by this. Immediately after it Pastor JJ Vasquez started preaching and, wow! He is funny, informative about the word, and keeps you fully engaged.

The slogan of this church is to make Jesus accessible to anyone and that is exactly what they do each and every Sunday. The church is growing so much, they've been around for nine years And started in a living room and now they have thousands of people attending several different services at different locations and even online. I love participating in small groups that really helps to create community among such a large church. And they always have wonderful events for couples and women and teens and more. Recently, my close friend and her daughter started attending and her daughter even got baptized, which is something they do at the church. I believe three times a year.

It's a small church, but there is plenty of parking and plenty of seats. The seats are extra large, for the typical American. So come on in and get blessed! The sermon was held by the secondary pastor. He was very well spoken and did not distract us by playing in his pockets or saying Uh and Um like many nearby church pastors. There were several references to scripture, which I love. Kids these days (even adults!) don't know the Bible. We really need to get in the Word and get familiar. Attendees were friendly. Communion was germ free!!!! You go get your small cup and your tiny piece of bread and you don't have to touch anyone or sip from the same cup. Thank You, Jesus! The service was germ free, apart from the associate pastor shaking my hand at the door. I hate when they ask you to turn to your neighbor and shake their hand. This church does not do that. I am thrilled! Worship was a few songs up front and one at the end. The words are large on the screen so you can see them if you don't know the tune. Offerings are collected by basket, by text or online. Pretty easy. There is some sort of coffee thing at the back, I've never stopped to check it out. They have childcare. Bathrooms are clean. There are frequent small groups and ways to get involved that can be found on the flyer or on the bulletin board. If you're looking for a neighborhood church that is friendly and bible based, this is your spot. Join us.

This review is not meant to endorse or critique a place of worship or services. I visited the auditorium for a concert on Friday. The lobby was small, but still nice with decorations. I didn't see any concession stands, so we ate somewhere else before the event. When we got to our seats, we noticed that our tickets weren't checked, even at the entrance. We sat in our assigned seats anyways, which was at the balcony. The seat was a typical arena style seat, but it was comfortable enough. The AC inside was cold and perfect. Looks like the venue is able to hold about 2000 guests. We had no issues viewing the orchestra and the monitors there. The bathrooms in the balcony area was small and only accommodated a couple people at a time, so there was a little wait. Though, it was pretty clean. Other than the security screening, we didn't see much staff at the venue. Wasn't sure whether the screening was common at the venue, or requested by the concert people, but the security staff were mostly polite and professional. They did however, leave immediately after the show. There was staff to help with parking and heading to the venue, but that was it. Parking was free and ample, so it was a plus compared to other venues. For a concert, I would visit the venue again. However, I would be aware of the lack of concessions inside, security screening requirements to enter, and not much staff indoors. But the free parking, comfortable seating, and great AC makes this a nice choice.

The church I had been a…read morepart of since my family moved to Florida when I was in 5th grade had gone through a lot of changes and ultimately some of the changes went against what the Bible and what Jesus teaches us. I was able to stay through a lot of changes, but when it comes to not following the scripture and teaching my children things that are not backed by the scripture I draw the line. Luckily our neighbors from the first house we ever bought over 20 years ago have been inviting us to their church for years. They were never pushy but always let us know we were welcome if we ever wanted a place to worship. Even though we were no longer physical neighbors, my son and husband still were friends with them and when I knew it was not good for my children to be in the environment we were currently in and we were actively looking for a new church my son reminded me of the invite to Orlando North. I had been really active in my prior church singing, playing bass, running a youth drama ministry, helping with youth group, and helping with kids choir so leaving was hard. I was unsure what I would think walking into a building that definitely didn't look like a church from the outside, but I kept an open mind and I am so glad I did. My first impressions was how welcoming they were. They always have a few people at the door downstairs welcoming everyone and I have to say this is the first place I have been that I truly have felt welcome EVERY week I come in those doors. Within 6 months we were going every Sunday. My whole family even chose to get baptized and join the church. (my old church believed in baptizing babies whereas this church believes you have to be old enough to understand what baptism is) My daughter who was in middle school started attending the youth group on Wednesdays before we even officially joined and even though she didn't want to talk to anyone for the first few weeks she still left every week smiling and saying she wanted to go back the next week. (2 years later she is thriving and has a ton of friends who she is excited to see every week and is going to start singing with the youth praise team) I felt comfortable from Day 1 with the youth group but my daughter has major anxiety and luckily, they had no issues with me staying in the room with her. After a few weeks they found out I played bass and asked if I could join the praise team on Wednesday nights. Zach and Laura made me feel I was a real part of the team. I have also joined the Sunday worship team which is rotation of 1 to 2 times a month and help in the nursery 1 time a month. I know my son, who is in college, enjoys the Sunday morning college bible study as well as the connections he has made with real friendships that go beyond just Sunday mornings. My husband even joined the group that does Sunday morning setup and helps with offering. I can not say enough good things about how this church has truly welcomed my family and made us feel like we are not just members of a church but we are members of family. FYI the youth group on Wednesday nights at 7pm (kids can show up any time after 6pm) is for middle school - high school and they meet almost every Wednesday all year, generally only taking off the week of Christmas, the week of Easter, and the week of camp. They generally have at least 20 kids there every week. Most of the time the structure is 6-7 the kids hang, play games like ping pong or basket ball then they do a group game type thing at 7 followed by announcements and worship music and a message. We sometimes end with small groups and we say we are officially done at 8:15 but allow the youth to hangout for about 30 min or after that. As a parent this was the information I was looking for but couldn't find before we went our first time.

He is a wonderful speaker, with a contagious sense of humor, and is emphatic about teaching Bible truths; not giving us his opinion of what God's Word actually says. Aside from that, it is probably one of the most welcoming churches I've ever attended. From the moment I stepped through the front doors, I felt at home, and never felt that anywhere else. There was a comment left by another reviewer that seemed to focus on the gay issue and even stated they "felt" the congregation was bigoted. How very different my experience has been. Does the church embrace the gay lifestyle--no, because it is not Biblical. Yet, at the same time, they would not make an issue of being gay. I'm pretty sure there are at least a few gay people who attend and from my observation seem to fit right in with everyone else, and I've never heard anyone slander anyone else for being gay. Again, the issue is a Biblical one, and because part of the church's mission is to teach Biblical truths, they cannot endorse something that is contrary to the scriptures. Sorry, don't mean to be preachy here. The children's/teens ministry is amazing. Zach and Laura lead these groups and the kids adore them. All of my grandchildren, from teens to elementary, attend and love going. This year they brought back the annual Christmas Candy Cane hunt, and all the kids were in on it. It was a huge success reaching out to the community during the Christmas holiday season. Long story short, if you're looking for a church home....one where everyone knows your name and the pastor teaches Biblical truth, then Orlando North just might be the church you call home.

While I do not condone what was revealed about Ron Smith, how it was handled, broadcasted, and then left on the internet for everyone to tune in and hear was and is absolutely horrific. The arrogance of the pastor's opening statements leading into a personal and saddening story of a man who lost his soul due to his sins being found out left me speechless. To drag a man's name so far through the mud but leave his pictures on the website and all over social media creates no doubt that the new leadership and staff who did this handled such a tragedy with such carelessness. It saddens me even to have to write this as a Yelp review. It absolutely destroyed me to see how this was handled by the church/Christians, and it will continue until the church removes the sermon.
