Stopped into Anong's on a roadtrip after seeing their sign outside town. Tried the Tom Yum soup with chicken. Very tasty & spicy! Broth was well loaded with chicken breast chunks, mushrooms, baby corn, cabbage (napa?), & carrot slices with zigzag edges. Portion was large enough to have a bit left over for breakfast. Excellent service from the waitress, including a couple recommendations on where to find the morning cuppa coffee. Interior is nicely decorated in a non-garish way and is spacious, to say the least, with very high ceilings. Air conditioning was mondo strong & had the room quite cool when I arrived a half hour or so before closing time. I was glad I had a down vest on over a tee-shirt. Price was good, in the $7 range for a very flavorful bowl of soup. The good value, friendly staff, and tasty food make Anong's my go-to stop next time I am in the Laramie area. read more

Excellent Thai food in Wyoming. We're from Chicago and have had our share of Thai food, so we have a pretty good idea of what it should taste like. This place has the right formula, especially the tom yum soup, which was very flavorful. We also had some tofu dishes with rice and noodles that were creative and delicious. The menu was wide-ranging. Wish we could come again and try more, but were in town just one night. Service wasn't perfect, but was very friendly. Nice atmosphere with a big crowd. Their fried rice is the best in my opinion. Honestly, Anong's is on top on my list of Asian cuisine here in Cheyenne! Everything is so yummy! I tried curry for the first time there and it was good! It was slightly spicy which is a good thing in my opinion! I was an instant fan... Debbie and I got to Laramie at a reasonable time and looked forward to exploring the old town area and enjoying a local dinner. I browsed the offerings on Yelp and found Anong's. It is quant, clean, and nice. It is in the heart of historic Laramie so the walking offerings before and after dinner are plentiful...little coffee houses and an ice cream shop that we didn't visit...but I wanted to!!! We shared a Pad Thai dish and I had a spicy sesame chicken dish. It was all really good...not the best I have ever had...but really good. Debbie had an eggplant dish which she really enjoyed. In all, I loved this place and as visitors from out of town, the staff were really friendly and helpful. We talked with one young ladies that served us and found out she is starting law school in the fall...very fun to learn a little about people in the places you visit. All in all...we loved it. This was actually a pretty good place. I would go again, but probably not for a huge meal like I did for the first visit. Atmosphere Positives: It is small so the wait staff is always in reach. It has an international look to the inside, and that is novel in Laramie. Negatives: The seats are unpleasant, and the tables are smaller than the amount of food normal to order. Food Positives: The tea is amazing, like creamy heaven. The food is fresh, beautiful, and well made. I feel like I'm eating food from a recipe book of an migrant grandmother. Negatives: Not everything is done well. Although everything else on the meal we ordered was fantastic, the Duck was not. I love duck more than anything else I eat. It is like my treat to myself. However, this duck was not prepared correctly. I didn't even finish the take out. Again, everything else was great. I just wouldn't order duck again. It is a testy dish, and the chef didn't know how to handle it. Wait Staff / Chef Positives: The wait staff is well mannered, and knows the menu well - down to the heat levels, ingredients, and cooking styles. Negatives: The food took a little longer than I would have thought to get to me. Prices: The prices were very reasonable for Laramie. In Laramie international flavors are super rare - with the exception of Sushi (we have a high Japanese exchange student rate and so Japanese food is very common in the area now) so, usually international food costs a small fortune, this was like a super mini fortune. My Suggestions: Don't get the duck, please don't get the duck. You have to try the iced teas. Creamy sips from heaven. Get the curry. Sauces, perfect, comes with a side of Jasmine rice too. Try dessert and tell me what you think. I was so stuffed from the huge app and the rice with curry sauce around the duck I didn't have room. :) read more

For the food itself, I gave 3. Given this is in Laramie, I would wanna give 3.5-4 as there are only two Thai restaurants in downtown. We went there on Sunday for dinner and it was so busy at the restaurant. Maybe nothing open much on Sunday. The two waitresses did a good job to handle all the customers although we felt pressured a bit when ordering food as they didn't have much time to talk or answer the questions. The food portion was big and the price was reasonable compared to the other Thai restaurants. The green curry was really good. The drunken noodles (Kee Mow) were just ok because I think the taste wasn't right. I tasted the peanut in the drunken noodles and I think peanut shouldn't be an ingredient for this as it wasn't Pad Thai. The Tom Yum seafood Hotpot was delicious. Overall, given this is in Laramie I can see myself going back again to try something new. read more

Food came out fast, hot, and delicious! The server even brought us a sampler of all of their curry sauces because my buddy had never tried curry before. The shrimp panang was fresh, and when I asked for spicy, the chef delivered. The wine list needs some major help, however. I've been to Anong's original location in Rawlins a couple of times and really enjoyed their food! I am actually surprised that a Thai restaurant managed to be so successful in a town like that but I am glad that they have seen success. In Laramie a Thai restaurant seems to have a better chance of surviving since Laramie is a college town. This location is downtown, close to the train tracks. It's kind of quaint. On a recent trip back to Wyoming my mom and I swung by this location and grabbed a bit of lunch. We decided to get the lunch buffet. All in all it wasn't bad. The soups, spring rolls and the meat and veggie dishes were good. They had a noodle dish which was tasty but seemed a bit dry and sticky. The buffet is modest in size but they keep everything filled- nothing is left empty. They had some good sticky rice pudding which I really enjoyed. I would definitely come back to this location, no doubt about that but I think I may order off of the menu next time during the lunch hour... I've had the most enjoyable meals that way. read more

We don't go here often but have always enjoyed the food. Their Thai coconut soup is up to snuff and as good as other restaurants I've been. The only drawback is the simple, almost diner style eating area. It can get a little awkward to move around. We recommend it all the same! read more

Who would thought a fantastic Thai resturaunt in Laramie WY (and other Wyoming spots)? But it is fantastic located in historic downtown Laramie across the famous Buckhorn Bar. This building sits on a corner next to the railroad tracks and yes a train comes rolling by every few minutes...in the past a brothel. Parking on the street but it's Wyoming where the critters out number the humans. We had pressed duck which I dream about. It's boneless it's crispy and had a tasty sauce on it. Order the duck!!! We also had veggie massaman curry which was delicious. The fresh veggies cooked perfectly. Now go do the Buckhorn roll across the street. read more

Great service and ambiance! Some of the best curry I've ever eaten. We were there for lunch on a Thursday and it was pretty crowded but it was still comfortable and the food from the menu was delicious. I could eat everything there. My husband had a salad and i had the red curry, extra hot. Both delicious and not uncomfortably spicy for us. We do like really spicy food though. I've lived and eaten Thai in NYC, NY, Denver and Houston. Anong's ranks with the best I've had. It's true that it's the first place I've ever been where "fried" potstickers are deep fried, but they were tasty and my Spicy Basil with chicken was excellent with good heat. Laramie's only Thai restaurant. It's not bad either. In fact, I'd call it above average. I mostly stick to pad thai and massuman and Anong's is in my top 5 for those dishes. I've also sampled some of their beef and eggplant dishes, so it's safe to say that all of their food is delicious. They serve reasonable approximations of Thai tea and coffee, but their desserts are quite excellent. The decor is kind of spartan, but it's in a fairly large, high-ceiling space which makes it feel vaguely like a cafeteria. It also means that it gets a little noisy when they're busy, but that only really happens on occasional weekends. The space does have an interesting (perhaps original) tin ceiling, though. If you're in Laramie and don't want to drive to Fort Collins for Thai Pepper then this is the place. You won't be disappointed either. read more

The first night I arrived in Laramie I was taken to Anong's for dinner and I was very happy with the meal. I liked the chicken rice soup, and my usual order of chicken panang curry. Weeks later we ordered a soup and the sesame chicken as a take out meal. Once we started eating it at home I tasted something weird in the second piece of chicken. It took me a second to figure it out, and I cut open the chicken to see black spots. It was dirt. Not just a trace of it either, several pieces and clumps and the very distinct taste of it, (took me awhile to figure it out but most of us as children probably were dared or adventurously tried eating dirt before so yes I know the taste, more so the smell!) My appetite vanished but there were still a few pieces on my plate and I looked at them and they seemed to be void of those black spots, so I took another brave bite, once again, dirt mouth. SO awful. I had to go to the sink and rinse my mouth out with water and threw away the remainder of my meal. How would this even happen? It was inside the breading, so I'm guessing the chicken was around a dirty area and was thrown into the batter and fried without even bothering to look. Not sure how you can miss a bunch of black clumps on pink/white chicken. Can't say much other than that. Would not go back. read more

I've never had a bad meal at Anong's, however, after my most recent visit, I have a couple of things to say. First of all: Staff your restaurant during busy weekends! It was during Jubilee Days, so Old Town was packed with people. My husband and I went in for lunch around 1:00. There was only one server working and the restaurant was almost packed - so she was waiting on approximately 10-12 tables. Poor girl! How is she supposed to give good service to anyone under those conditions? Second of all: Charge more for a FULL glass of wine, or note in your menu that your are pouring "half glasses." Their Coppola Pino Grigio can be ordered as a glass for $5 or a bottle for $20. There are four glasses of wine in a bottle if you are pouring a 6 ounce glass, so they have their wine priced just about right if they are pouring a "full" glass of wine. Now, let me say, I've worked in the restaurant business for a long, long time. I waited tables at a fine dining establishment with a very extensive wine list. I know what a glass of wine should look like. This was about a 4 ounce poor. When I mentioned it to our frenzied server, she bluntly told me it was supposed to be a half glass... okay. Just a warning for you wine drinkers out there. I told her to bring me the bottle. read more

This place is a gem in downtown Laramie. Went here last night, after finding hour waits at most steak joints downtown and were seated right away. (High school state football is in town this weekend- guess Thai food isn't high on football parents' lists.) Interior is nice- well decorated, bright, but a little noisy due to the high ceilings. Food was good, authentic, and reasonably priced. I had a noodle dish, parents had pad thai and a curry, all of which were really delicious. I have to agree with everything that Peter B said ... except I didn't have the beef Panang Curry. There's not been a dish I ordered and didn't care for. To explain Geoffrey B's dislike for the high ceiling: it is kind of weird, but the building is old ... old old ... like maybe 100 years old old. They've done a nice job converting this part of the building into a restaurant. I like how they've painted the ceiling tile gold, it is very pretty. The artwork is authentic, as are the staff. In an area that LOVES its' beef, this little gem was a welcome relief for a vegetarian! Spending 8 hours in the car with a teething one-year-old can make any day seem long, and this little spot saved the day!!! My daughter, grandson, and I walked in at 2:55 (they close at 3:00) but were seated and served quickly and efficiently. The buffet was a little limited because of the time and the hostess recommended ordering from the menu, which was PERFECT!! My party enjoyed the summer rolls as an appetizer, lo mien noodles (my grandson's favorite) and the green curry. All items were delicious, well prepared, and attractively presented. It's really sad I have to drive 30+ miles west or south to get a good meal. Cheyenne is just a sea of chain restaurants... yuk. I've been to the Anong's in Rawlins, and loved it. I really don't care for Thai food. I've eaten here twice and I've not had a dish I liked. So why rate it 4/5? Well, despite me not liking the food I ordered, I can tell when a meal is high quality. The food is high quality, I just don't like the flavors and tastes. If you like Thai food, I'm sure you'll enjoy this place. I guess I'm just more of a meat and potatos guy. We waited a long time for service. In fact it was so long, it included a trip to the bathroom for me, another one for my wife and three kids and three trips back to the car to fetch forgotten kiddo stuff. After her final trip I decided to keep time on the stopwatch app. 18 Minutes after the 3rd trip to the car, we got service.... And we were the first table in front of the kitchen. Crazy. Food- Kids dishes good. Promoted appetizer-YUCK! Look if you are going to promote a Thai Chicken Wings on the wall you could at least serve the ones from Costco instead of Banquet. You know that supermarket frozen fried chicken taste? I know it because that what my parents thought it was the thing for sometime at home. When the freezer gets a hold of the chicken, the batter gives off a certain flavor and its distinct. Crazy thing is that these guys barely even masked it with another layer of batter and spices, barely. My kids (4) didn't even finish em. Our Tom-ka-kai(sour chicken coconut soup) Tasted good, but the mushrooms were plan ole inexpensive button mushrooms. The chicken was, tough, tough tough, like jerky soaked in soup. I think they must have precooked it and over heated it in the microwave before dropping it into the soup. Oh yeah, one more dining delight. As the wings were coming out, one of them was hanging over the edge of the platter. Our waitress grabbed it and put it back in the center while in mid-stride to our table. I wanted to say something, but it was hour 7 out of 9 on a long road trip in below zero weather and after waiting for over 30 minutes with cold hungry kids, I just shut my mouth. read more
