I can't say enough about this place -- specifically the Highland/ACC location. The service is attentive and warm. The seating is cozy without feeling cramped. The food is consistently delicious. We had high expectations for this place based on the reviews. Unfortunately it didn't even come close to being good. The rest itself is nice. The staff are working their tails off with so many customers. They were non stop and did a great job of taking care of the patrons. I like the two choices of coffee but was surprised no cappuccino options. I had the English muffin poached eggs and fried potatoes. When I say it was bad, it was bad. The potatoes were not fresh but tasted like frozen potatoes that were just heated up. They were awful. The English muffin had the potential to be good but it was served basically raw and unbuttered. I waited almost 10 minutes to get butter and by then the barely warm muffin was cold and nasty. My poached eggs were served warm. They were ok. The beignets were mid as best. My husband said the same thing for his breakfast. We both couldn't get over how highly rated it is when it was so terrible for us. I would definitely recommend other places over this one. read more

This place gets PACKED. I woke up on a Sunday and put myself on the waitlist (you can add yourself to the waitlist on their website) it took about an 1hr 30min (so literally the time it took me to get ready and head that way). We got seated fairly quickly when we got there, despite all the commotion up front. This restaurant is fairly small considering it's so popular. We started with a strawberry st.germain mimosa pitcher, which really disappointed me. The pitcher was SMALL. For $25, that pitcher could've at least been filled to the 1L mark. It was good but honestly I didn't taste much of the alcohol, which is disappointing because it's so hard to find a place that has decent drinks and brunch food! But anyways, yeah just keep that in mind because I was shook/in disbelief really. I decided to go with the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes, I know probably a bit interesting, but honestly was pretty good. The pancakes (3 pancakes) were really dense and had a decent amount of blueberries on top and in between the pancakes. I would start off with the goat cheese to the side, just in case you don't vibe with it. I started small and eventually added more and more, but not too much. Paired very well with the lemon pancakes and blueberries. The lunch duo was good, typical chicken salad sandwich, the gumbo could've had a spicy kick to it, it was good but not delicious. Food was meh. Hollandaise sauce seem like it was probably out of a packet or something. It was really gross. Off taste. The grits were not good. The only thing that was hot was the bland grits, but the crabs Benedict was not, Ice cold like they forgot to bring it out. We both ordered the same thing so it's not like there was a timing difference. The kitchen itself decided to turn up some loud music while we were there and it was overwhelming and fighting the music in the restaurant. So that pretty much ruined the whole deal I won't be back and I don't recommend you going there and whoever owns this place needs to take the music out of the kitchen. I've never heard such boom base from a kitchen in my life. this is a first time thing for me won't be back. Waste of time and a disappointment when we wanted something really nice for the holidays. My boyfriend ordered cookie dough waffles, eggs, and bacon. The cookie dough was grainy like sand; his bacon was cold; the waffle was really the only edible thing. We were seated near the bathroom and there was a LOT of traffic in and out of there which was grossing me out so I decided not to review then, to be fair. I'm so so happy that there is a new Another Broken Egg location here at the Linc. First and foremost, go to their website and get on the waitlist BEFORE you head over as the wait can get ridiculous. Don't let that dissuade you though; the extra effort is totes worth it. I have had their spiked coffee, which are delicious. My go to brunch drink though is their blueberry lemonade margarita. Easy to drink, not too sweet, perfectly balanced flavors. You can't go wrong with their omelettes. My fav is the lobster brie. Also also, their eggs Benedict dishes are incredible. They have 4-5 seasonal dishes and right now they have a chicken fried steak eggs Benedict. This is my favorite brunch spot in Austin. The Veggie Delight omelette was super tasty. I really enjoyed how the goat cheese tasted in this omelette. Also, they had lots of spinach chopped and placed on top of it, so it made for a very delightful veggie egg breakfast. I have to admit, however, that as a grits lover, I just do NOT like their grits. Regardless of where this restaurant chain is located, their grits are horrible -- even when I try them with cheese. Their pancakes are delicious because they seem to be made with sweet cream. It took them a long time to get the pancakes to us though-- we were almost through with breakfast by the time the pancakes were brought out. This location has only been open for two weeks, so when my BF wanted to check it out this morning, I allowed my arm to be twisted. It's in the middle of the oddly empty LINC shopping center, next to the Peruvian place. Plenty of parking, which these days is a big plus as far as I'm concerned. The interior is bright and welcoming, with mix of tables and booths. At 8 am this weekday morning it was fairly empty--no surprise for such a new place. The service was fast and friendly, the menu nearly overwhelming. Entrees range from $12-18. I love that he had a choice of teas and I could choose regular or dark roast coffee. Choosing an entree was hard with so many classic or unusual options. The owner came by to chat, and to bring us a sample of their Biscuit Beignets, which are a delightful cross between the two, served with a very good marmalade. BF went for the Country Fried Steak Benedict, while I got the Country Power Bowl. Both arrived looking great. He declared his side of potatoes "uninspired," and after I had a taste, I agree. They needed to be a bit crispier, I think. But the Bennie was very good, he said. The underlying biscuit was huge, the CFS unusually "delicate," and the Red Eye gravy spot on. My Power Bowl was wonderful start to finish--in fact, I had to take half of it home, and I have a big appetite. The biscuit, which seems to be a specialty of theirs, was perfect, and BIG. Gravy was also just right, as was the side of bacon. And I don't know what sweet ham they put in that scramble, but, DAMN! This place definitely goes on our repeat list, and I suspect it will be a hit once the brunch crowd discovers it. read more

I wish I could give this a 3.5/5 stars but I just couldn't quite give it a four. Me and a friend came here for brunch and one thing I do like about this place is that you can join the waitlist online before you show up so when we got there we didn't have to wait long at all! Once we were seated though, they put us at a weird table that was off to the side by itself and right next to the bar so it felt a little off but not a big deal. We didn't have anyone server come over for awhile though like maybe 10 minutes after we were seated and then after we were greeted our server took a long time to come back to our table the entire time we were here. Me and my friend both happened to order the crab cake benedict because it sounded yummy but neither of us ended up liking it. When it came out it smelled super fishy and it just did not taste great. The potatoes were really good but that was about it. Overall I would try this place again but I wouldn't order the crab benedict. read more

Searched Yelp after church for a brunch spot and found this Another Broken Egg Cafe. We joined the wait list and made our way over. Upon arrival, we checked in and were seated just a few minutes later at a hightop. The place was busy with people waiting outside to be seated despite a light drizzle. That was a sign that this must be good. Decor was fresh and bright, and atmosphere was comfortable despite every table being full. The menu included great options. We were delighted to see mock-tails and ordered the Pineapple Berry Agua Fresca which was refreshingly tasty. I enjoyed the Floridian omelette which was filled with cream cheese and topped with crabmeat, shrimp cheese and green onions. I added a Bourbon Street pancake which I shared with my daughter. Between the two, I would pick the Mardi Gras over the hash brown Benedict. The Benedict needed Cholula sauce to taste good but the Mardi Gras was flavorful.
