By the time we arrived, we only had a 10 min wait. Score! We saw 3 seats at the bar and decided to dine there. The waitstaff was wonderful and the food was "bussin" as my son would say. I ordered the spinach scramble and hubs and I shared a pitcher of the Gran mimosa. Everything was wonderful. I crushed my breakfast. I've never had a mimosa with Grand Marnier. Soooo good. We decided to try Another Broken Egg for breakfast this morning. We walked in behind two women. The two women requested seating for two & the hostess said 1hr to 1.5hr wait. The two women conversed amongst themselves saying they couldn't wait that long & there was somewhere they needed to be and mentioned to the hostess they're from out of town. The hostess asks if they were willing to eat outside & the women said yes. They were seated immediately despite there being a waiting room of people waiting to be seated. We walked up & were told 1hr to 1.5hrs. My husband said 'we will sit outside'. The hostess said it will be 1hr to 1.5hrs. He asked why the two women did not have to wait. The hostess stumbled for words. My husband says there are plenty of tables. She continued to stammer for words & said she needed to check with the server & that it would still be a minute. My Husband was pretty upset & exclaimed this was BS & wanted to know why the two women were seated before him. The hostess said she'll get the manager. The manager gave my husband the same line & finally said, 'I think we can get you seated now'. Chris said absolutely not. It's not fair to the other people who have been waiting longer & told them this whole thing is ridiculous. We left, and went to First Watch. We saw at least three other couples there who were waiting while we were in there being told it was a 90 minute wait unless you're a favorite of the hostess. Five stars for the service!! Stopped here on our way back from SC to Florida. We had about a 40 minute wait for 2. Once we got a table our sever, Jam, was amazing! Super attentive, even after we got our food. She was so pleasant and friendly although she was super busy with multiple tables. Our food was very good too. We had sausage gravy and biscuits and a breakfast sandwich. The sausage gravy is savory and the biscuit was very good. I wished they had put a little more gravy on the biscuit as I didn't feel the portion of gravy to biscuit was good. Although the place was full it didn't feel overwhelming. read more

I enjoyed my Monday morning breakfast at Another Broken Egg. We came around 10am. I forgot our servers name, but she was great. I ordered the GranMosa. It was worth it. I also ordered the shrimp and grits and bourbon pancakes. The shrimp and grits were amazing. The bourbon butter sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking. I would get them plain in the future. My friend ordered the breakfast bowl that comes with everything and the blueberry goat cheese pancakes. He ate everything. So I guess no complaints there. We were traveling and stopped in and I must say it was INCREDIBLE. We live in Greenville and have some great breakfast spots, but this was all around amazing. The chocolate chip cookie dough waffle was the best waffle I've ever tasted. I'm a personal trainer so I eat pretty clean, but that waffle was an amazing treat. Also got an egg scramble. Wish I remembered her name because she's definitely worth mentioning. They are normally not as busy in the morning as they are mid-day. This morning I ordered The Traditional. It's two eggs, a meat, a side and an English muffin. I substituted the English muffin out for wheat toast. The staff here is average. They are not super speedy, nor do they act extra friendly. The food is normally made correctly. I was invited to a friend's birthday brunch and she chose Another Broken Egg Cafe (ABEC). I hadn't been there before so I was excited to check it out. Another friend who was organizing the brunch asked me if I could get on the Yelp Waitlist for us since they don't take reservations and we were going to be a party of 10 mommas with a few kiddos. A side note about the Yelp Waitlist. This feature is so cool! You tell it what time you want to eat and how many people in your party (there are only options for a max of 6, but ABEC told us to indicate the desired party in notes). It will send you a reminder, provided you select that you want to be reminded, exactly at the right time you need to get on, according to the waitlist time at the restaurant! We ended up not needing it because it there were only a handful of diners at 9:30 on a Monday morning. It must come in pretty handy on weekends though, where I imagine ABEC gets pretty busy! - Parking - Center lot. - Vibe - Modern vibe. There are regular tables, high top tables and booth seating along the walls. There is also a bar with a couple of TVs for your viewing pleasure. - TLC - Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a gentleman. I had told him we were waiting to get on the Yelp Waitlist, but clearly, the restaurant had lots of tables unoccupied. I told him the number of people in our party and he was very quick to accommodate by pushing tables together and fully equipping us with high chairs and a car seat basket. Yoxelin (cool spelling of the same sounding name, Jocelyn) was absolutely a doll. Super enthusiastic and very attentive to our needs and answered all our questions. Thanks, Yoxelin! - Eats/Refreshments - Cold Brew with milk and French Vanilla syrup- You can get the cold brew black or how I ordered it, with milk and French Vanilla flavored syrup (they have a few different flavors of syrups). They prepared it exactly like I asked (half coffee and half milk) and it was very good and served in a mason jar. Strawberry Pound Cake French Toast (seasonal) - Every time I see "seasonal" on the menu, I get Food FOMO. What happens if there is something amazing on the seasonal section of the menu and I would have missed it and I won't ever see it again? Will there be a next time? These are the things that are going through my mind when looking at a menu. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this seasonal item came with 2 eggs and a meat item. I chose over easy and bacon. All this for $12.69! Now thoughts...I'll start with the bacon and eggs because there's not much to say except that the eggs came as requested and were perfectly cooked and the bacon was great! Not so thin that it's limp, but thick enough that it had a good chew and crips to them. Now for the Strawberry Pound Cake French Toast. It comes on what I would use as a serving plate at home and the portion itself is huge. There were 4 generous slices of pound cake with a handful of strawberry slices sparsely placed on top with a good spray of the whipped cream (I say spray because it tasted like the whipped cream out of those spray cans) and a sprinkle of brown sugar. The pound cake was pleasantly soft and almost fluffy, unlike the dense, buttery kind that I was expecting. It was delicious! However, I was left wondering what was so French Toast about it. I did see the pan fried marks, but I felt like the cake slices could have been left in the egg batter a little longer and get that eggy crust on it. I would have liked more strawberries and I could do without the brown sugar sprinkles since the cake is sweet enough and the raw, sandy texture didn't go so well with the airy and fluffy texture of the cake. One suggestion I would make is to put the cake slices on a much smaller plate, more like a dinner plate. I think it would look nicer and would give the impression of more strawberries while using the same amount and the plate would take up less room on an already crowded table with so many side dishes. I used to work at a hotel when I was a spring chicken and my shift was breakfast and let's just say, I would have hated to be the dishwasher! It was bad enough clearing the table with so many dishes, utensils, sugar packets and creamers! So in summary, I think the French Toast in the name is not very fitting, the brown sugar is not necessary but the cake itself is great! Needless to say, I finished it! Looking around our brunch table, everyone's plates were well plated and looked delicious! Some flavored mimosas were ordered and one friend let me try the Lobster Brie Omelette (which Yoxelin recommended!) and I definitely got Food FOMO after that bite! Future note to self: Try the beignets and stick to the traditional items and listen to Yoxelin! ABEC is a great spot for breakfast and brunch, offering a great variety of items from savory to sweet breakfast items, as well as some great lunch options! I think everyone will find something they like! read more

Food was good, but the customer service is trash. I sat at the bar and seemingly was ignored because I'm white. Bartender never said hello. It took almost 10 minutes before she ask me what I wanted. Then a black couple comes in and she introduces herself by name, laughs it up with them loudly. I had to ask for another drink. She never offered. she continued to go back to other black patrons but would just walk right by me. I think if is how the treat people they should go out of business. Honestly, I was surprised when she brought this meal out to me...the "creamy velouté sauce" looked wired as a breakfast/Brunch type of dish smothered all over the plate...I just expected it to look different. The poached eggs where perfect, the gulf shrimp where delicious. The grilled "focaccia" was hard with no flavor. I wouldn't order this again, it has a unique flavor that didn't really appeal to me. On the way back home from our trip to North Carolina we slept on the border of SC and GA. In the morning we were going to go downtown savannah to get breakfast but quickly realized there would be no parking for our RV, that's when we quickly came upon Another Broken Egg Cafe. My party of 3 had to an hour wait so would recommend using yelp waitlist ahead of time. I went inside and said I wanted first available seating and that seemed to help as I was texted around at 11:42 that my table was ready. We sat down, for drinks we had two waters and a 4$ orange juice. One problem with the drinks is there are plenty of alcoholic cocktail options but I was only greeted with decaf cold/warm brew coffee, no specialty coffees. It's a little lame for a "cafe" to not offer speciality coffee options. For food, I decided on the "BLUEBERRY BREAD FRENCH TOAST". This I felt was very well battered and I could taste the blueberry inside the batter it even had a purple ish color and was very nice inside, this item came with almonds, fresh blueberries, and strawberry butter. And then, I added the powdered sugar and syrup shortly after. Honestly this order is an 8 year olds crack. The french toast is well made but the strawberry butter is just too sweet. It tasted good and non artificial, but honestly halfway through I just felt sick of all the sugar. And you could argue it's my fault as I added the powdered sugar but I didn't even use half of the little container they gave me and I only went over with syrup, a single time. This butter was just too rich and sweet. I thought it was interesting to have a strawberry butter on a blueberry french toast, creative, just too rich. The eggs I felt were not 5 star, but not bad. The bacon was chewy and not crispy enough to my liking. My brother ordered a Belgium waffle and enjoyed his whole meal. And my father ordered a Floridian omelette which had crab cake on top. He stated that the crab was good which is definitely good for a breakfast place to have so respect to them for that. Our total was 50$ for a drink and 3 meals. My fathers order did not come with a side but me and my brothers came with 2 eggs and choice of meat. I felt this meal should have been 40$ at most and given the portion sizes were good I think 40$ is a fair price. Other then that it's good, but for the price and wait definitely weigh out your options.. 3 reasons this place is not your 5 star option. Coffee General Food and Sides// Good but does not get 5 stars for 50$ Price/Wait Was my food good, yes, would I order it again, no. I would probably come back another time on the road if as it's one of the only options for morning brunch after sleeping on the border at the rest stop, but I would not be ordering this one again and would opt for something else as well as reserve even more ahead of time.
