These have to be…read moreeasily some of the lowest cost apartments I have found, However, low cost certainly does not mean cheap or low quality. The apartments are clean and free of odors as the landlords are very strict about smoking in apartments. Some of the apartments are beginning to show their age, but they appear to be systematically updating them one at a time. The landlords are very kind and responsive to any problems or maintenance issues and typically resolve them within a few hours, even on the weekend. As well they are empathetic with tenants, as I have run into situations with late payments by accident before. I simply called them up in advance, let them know what was going on and they were very understanding. To my knowledge, most apartments have free hot/cold water and there is always hot water and plenty of it! The grounds and public areas are well kept and clean and right next to a local park. Parking spaces are adequate and they have talked about expanding the parking lot in the near future for more parking spaces. In short: the landlords are caring and friendly, apartments are clean and inexpensive and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better deal in the local area.

I've been a resident of Homestead for about a year now and they must be doing something right if I'm renewing my lease. When I first arrived in July of last year the staff wasn't what they needed to be and there were many a complication with my lease and experience. Fast forward to October... the staff has been replaced and they're running through everything with a fine tooth comb. The cleanup has been gradual but the property has been coming around. Yes there's still much that needs work, but they're handling it the best they can right now. I have no complaints with the property. It's newer. Priced about right for what RC has to offer. Being a military town things are usually a little more costly. With your rent you receive free basic cable, and wifi on top of it all. Bills are what you'd expect as you pay for your own water and gas. All units have their own washer and dryer, and if you're like me and had your own they'll even remove the basic units so you can install yours. My biggest pet peeve when it comes to properties like this is pet clean up, and there isn't any of that nonsense to be had here. Though they DNA test most residents look after their pooches and as long as I'm not dodging land mines I'm fairly happy. The other reviews I read hit on some things but in my experience they seem self inflicted. I give Homestead an average rating because they're that right now, but they're definitely working on above average. When it comes to apartment living be sure to keep things in mind and keep it all in perspective.

I had no idea that this was a "renovated" "junk motel" until I read the other review after I checked in. There is for 100% sure mold infestation in the laundry room. My son and I are susceptible to mold poisoning and both of us got headaches after spending only a couple minutes in there. Thank God we are only here for a night. My wife booked this place, but she said there were no other options in town on short notice. My wife said the manager or person she dealt with was super nice. All in all, I would never stay here again and don't recommend it to anyone unless this is all you can afford.

We had a great stay at The Sojourn. It's a two-story motel that's been renovated with two motel…read morerooms combined into each suite. Our suite was #216. It was on the upper story. The room where you enter had a kitchen and a living room with a pull-out. Then there was door which led to the bedroom with the bathroom off of it as well as a large closet. We loved that the refrigerator was full-sized, and the freezer worked well and included ice-cube trays. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had the usual amenities. The air-conditioning unit is in the kitchen, and we found the bedroom was warm compared to the living room. However, they had a large fan in the closet, so we just put that in the door between the living room and the bedroom and it cooled the bedroom perfectly. Check-in and check-out were easy. The price was right. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

I was…read moreillegally charged a double deposit, then when I informed David Charles Christie I would not be renewing my lease a couple of month's prior to the end of lease. He became very childish and pushy for me to have the property "showroom ready". He kept mentioning finding a tenant so i " could get out of rent" prior to the end of lease. something I never mentioned, wanted, or asked for. he asked me to pay utilities for a month I wasnt there to allow a new tenant to begin moving in early. I obliged. I paid rent up to when we agreed. He kept my entire double month's rent security deposit (which I now know is illegal to even request -⁠SDCL 43-32-6.1, ) charging me every time he went to look or show the house, an oven rack that was never there, and a month of rent that he already had a new tenant paying rent for and on a lease at the same property. He has been an absolute nightmare and I have filed a consumer protection complaint, small claims court, and any avenue I can to spread the word on this absolute scandalous and criminal behavior.
