Both dishes were good. They have a pretty good selection of beers (including the hefeweizen with banana juice mix that the people in Aachen like to drink), The service was good. It's a nice relaxed place and I liked the decorations (nautical + old German castle). Seems to be a very popular place for people in Aachen to go for drinks and to eat. There were advertisements for a Saturday and Sunday brunch. I'd like to go back and give the brunch a try.

We started with an appetizer plate which had a mix of German and Asian selections; medium rare beef strips, turkey medallions, pot stickers and shrimp accompanied with a garlic yogurt and spicy sweet and sour dipping sauces. Solid but not outstanding, the asian choices were unexpected. I had the Saltimbocca pork cutlet with potatoes and a side salad. The cutlet was wrapped with prosciutto and a little dry, but bacon makes everything great! Again solid but not outstanding. My host had the roasted lamb shank, and it looked like a better choice. I'd have that the next time, but a little pricey. Overall an ok place to have dinner.

The dining room is nicely decorated, in a modern ski chalet style. And it gives onto the valley, very nice spot especially in summer. The menu is short but even with a limited choice of product offered, it looks and tastes like frozen food. The service is warm but a bit slow. And portions are a bit light. So to conclude, the place is nice but you can skip lunch and just have a snack.
