Three years. Zero accountability. I paid Anthony & Sylvan over $100k to build my pool and spa, completed in March 2023. A few weeks after completion and filling with water, I filed a formal warranty claim w/pictures describing an active leak, water soaking the spa wall, and entire adjacent corner parged wall. That was May 8, 2023. Over the next three years, Anthony & Sylvan sent multiple representatives to my property. They also dispatched a third-party leak detection company, New Look Leak Services. Every single visit ended the same way: "There is no leak." "Spillway pitch is off." No corrective action. No repair. No accountability. I never stopped telling them the problem was real. On April 20, 2026, out of necessity and at my own expense, I retained a local licensed mason who on a single visit, visually inspected and identified the precise location of active water intrusion behind the stone face of the spa beneath the spillway. One or both of the left and right jet lines are actively leaking. The wall structure is saturated and has been since the pool was built (see pics). There is visible, ongoing structural damage to my property. A local experienced mason found it in one visit. Anthony & Sylvan's own team and third party leak detection service across three years and multiple inspections could not or would not. Their own warranty documentation states, verbatim: "We warrant that the pneumatically applied concrete shell will be free from leaks and that the pipes, skimmers and main drains encased in the concrete will hold water for as long as you own your structure." Warranty status in their system: Current. I have five dated photographs documenting the structural damage. I have asked for their Regional Manager here in the Charlotte, NC area to contact me multiple times but it appears service is not a priority as I have yet to receive a call nor received any assistance with getting a qualified vendor to come out and do the repairs. If you are considering Anthony & Sylvan for a pool build, read the BBB complaints before you sign anything. The pattern is consistent: excellent sales process, beautiful product on day one, and then complete abandonment the moment something goes wrong. Do not make the same mistake I did. read more

Ray Kennedy was our project manager when we put our built in pool in 2024. He was amazing when I went through the building process and he still is 2 years later. He answers me when I call our text. He has come on a Saturday and fixed our skimmers. He helps me with whatever going on. He has shown professional , reliable and a strong attention to detail. Ray shows exceptional level of commitment. DO NOT USE THIS POOL BUILDER. My family is very disappointed with our pool install. Horrible customer service and quality. Very unorganized, we had to manage the project ourselves and after pool was installed, plaster craftsmanship is horrible and they will not fix it. Just keep putting it off. Pool equipment still Leaking after they came out twice to fix it. I have reached out to an attorney to sue for poor workmanship and provided dated pictures of damaged plaster. read more

I have waited to write this review because I didn't want to write it out of frustration, which pretty much sums up my experience working with A&S. I'll start by say, everyone is super polite and friendly, so as people, I would give them 5 stars for sure. And at the end of the day, I love my pool and feel it was a great investment. What's caused my frustration.... I was told the process only takes a couple months. I signed in July 2023 and was told we would be swimming in Oct. It wasn't "finished" until January 2024. Wouldn't have mattered so much if the team set realistic expectations. Every step of the way I've had to call and follow up with the team. There was no pro-active scheduling and no urgency. Not only that, but nothing ever gets accomplished with one message. I would have to follow up 2-3 times to get acknowledgement. I'm unsure if the team is too busy or if I simply wasn't a priority (I was told once that I live too far away, so that made me feel like a huge inconvenience; I'm 15 mins from Charlotte city center btw). Anthony & Sylvan subcontracts every step, so there isn't any accountability. My PM would come out every so often and do a site visit and take photos. But A&S did not meet the subcontractors prior to their work, so there was no clarification before they would begin, and they would not inspect the work afterwards. I'm obviously not an expert, so it was a bit difficult to trust that corners weren't being cut. The biggest frustration has been the patio. Their subcontractors have already been out three times to fix issues with the travertine. It's still not up to my standards, but now I'm having to go through the warranty team. Lastly, I never really had one point of contact. My PM would show up unannounced and if I happened to be home, he was super friendly and would address my concerns, but he never answered calls, texts or emails. I would cc about 5-6 people on my emails, but never really knew who was accountable and who I could trust to advocate for my project. Honestly, I bet a lot of the pool companies operate similarly, but I would love if A&S developed more organization, better communication, and processes that set expectations with their customers and contractors, and took accountability for their product and services instead of passing blame on subcontractors that they hire. Ultimately I've given my money to A&S, not these third parties. read more

warning do not use this company!! our pool is only three years old they say its a life time warranty on concrete pools but if you have a problem they say it out of warranty! we have had problems from day one , it takes forever to get them to come out and look and when they did the only fixed bare minimum and problem comes right back like all the tiles falling off , we have only had our pool for three years . beware of this company they talk a good sales pitch but the work and craftsmanship is awful . steer clear you will regret using them. read more

He is committed to giving his customers the best service. I had design what I wanted my pool to look like. Together Ray and I made it exactly what I wanted. We made some changes prior to digging as we drew the pool out on my lawn. He was very helpful. He's positive attitude and suggestions always made me feel comfortable. If I texted or call he answered my calls and answered questions. If I needed help he would come to my home to help and assisted me. Ray Kennedy is a asset to Anthony and Sylvan. Horrible Incompetent Pool Builder! Stay away or you will waste thousands of dollars. Here are the details! We had Anthony & Sylvan install our pool. We have had constant problems with the pool and spa since the pool was completed in Aug of 2021. Anthony & Sylvan will not correct any of these issues and I just received an email from Mike Exum ( the General Manager) stating that he will agree to drain our pool and remedy the issue that Anthony & Sylvan created but that we need to use our hose to fill our pool back up. This is a ridiculous statement. We cannot use our hose because it would take a week to fill the pool and be extremely costly. The Aqua-Duck water company states it will cost $2,100 to fill our pool with water. Water is included in the pool contract. Anthony & Sylvan put water in our pool when they were aware of the issue and they would have to drain it to remedy it. Now Anthony & Sylvan is saying they are going to correct the issue but we have to pay for water a second time! Our spa does not work correctly. We have a 12 jet spa. Only 6 of the 12 jets actually produce hot water after the hot tub reaches maximum temp of appx. 104 degrees. Anthony and Sylvan specifically told us that they design spas this way on purpose. The other pool companies I spoke to refuse to do it this way and other pool companies don't even understand why Anthony & Sylvan would do it this way. Anthony & Sylvan never disclosed to us that we would not have hot water in our hot tub after it reached max temperature of appx 104 degrees. If they did, then we obviously wouldn't have agreed to let them build our spa. If you Google Anthony & Sylvan- you will notice they blocked Google reviews. Companies can pay to do this. Instead they link "Chamber of Commerce" reviews. The Chamber of commerce gives them 5 stars but if you read the reviews they aren't all 5 stars. When you post on the Anthony & Sylvan website directly, they have it programmed to immediately post over you so that all the negative reviews on them get covered by ads. But if you take the time to look, you will see all the negative reviews. Anthony & Sylvan just makes it hard for you to find all the negative reviews but thousands are there all over the internet. Electric on our pool is not complete and I cannot get a CO. It's been 18 months since my pool was completed. Anthony & sylvan refuses to remedy the situation so that we can get a CO. This is Anthony & Sylvan's contractual obligation! We have had constant issues operating the pool equipment using the app. The app is the only way to operate the pool. I have asked several times for a remote control but they said they don't recommend it and they will not give me a controller. I offered to pay for the controller but they still ignore these requests. They claim the controller will not work properly and cause more problems. They use a system named Jandy. Several other pool companies I called won't use this system because of all the issues. If you do a quick Google search then you will see thousands of complaints on the Jandy system yet Anthony & Sylvan will only use this system. Things that happen with this system- you will shut the heater off but it will stay on indefinitely. You will pay for all that wasted gas/electric because the app doesn't work correctly. Pool lights constantly different colors and never working correctly, no connection and always needed to reinstall the app.........When I complained to Anthony & Sylvan numerous times, I was told in email by Justin Taylor (Warranty Manager) that my finger was sliding the buttons incorrectly. Yes folks I have a defective index finger!
