I would not recommend hiring Daryl Longworth to represent you in a divorce or child custody matter…read more I retained Mr. Longworth approximately two years ago to represent me in my divorce and custody case. Looking back, I believe the representation I received resulted in an extremely unfavorable outcome that continues to affect my relationship with my children. Since the divorce was finalized, I have consulted with two separate family law firms to evaluate whether a modification of my current custody and visitation order is possible. Both attorneys expressed significant concerns regarding the terms of the decree and visitation schedule that were negotiated and entered in my case. Both advised that a modification appears warranted based on the circumstances. However, one attorney stated that they would explore whether portions of the original order could potentially be thrown out & redone due to how one-sided they believed the agreement to be. The other advised that while they would work to improve the current order, correcting the issues would be difficult because of the terms already in place. What is most frustrating is that I relied on Mr. Longworth's advice when deciding whether to agree to the terms of the settlement. I was led to believe that the provisions were standard and necessary under the circumstances. After obtaining independent legal opinions, I no longer believe that was the case. Divorce and custody cases have long-term consequences that can affect both parents and children for years. Based on my experience, I wish I had sought additional legal opinions before agreeing to the final terms of my decree. I've always sympathized with anyone accused of any crime but I now empathize with them as I now know and have experienced being charged for a crime I did not commit and being treated guilty until proven innocent. With all that being said, after reviewing prior reviews for Attorney Akinbayoji and reaching out for a consultation on a Friday. He called me back the same day, reviewed my case, informed me of all avenues, possible outcomes, next steps, he showed up to court the following Monday, negotiated a walk through and recommended a bail bondsman. Mr. Akinbayoji's responsiveness , patience, sympathy and thoroughness is why I decided to hire him as my attorney. Not to mention I hire black and competent before I would ever hire an attorney who culturally appropriates for certain fast money demographical cases and quick to negotiate a deal vs fighting for the client.
