Exceeded my expectations! We were visiting Anacortes from Philadelphia. We arrived at 8 pm after a day at Friday's Harbor San Juan Island. Our waitress (Amy?) was attentive. Our salmon fish & chips, our cod fish & chips as salmon cakes were perfect. We were seated at a window overlooking the Marina which we couldn't see clearly due to nightfall but appreciated being seated there. We are used to restaurants being open at least til 10 pm. We didn't notice that the restaurant officially closed at 9 as we were not rushed out. We will be sure to dine here again when back in the area. read more

We stopped here for a quick bite before we went well watching, what a beautiful place to sit and have lunch overlooking the ocean and all the boats we had a wonderful patio to sit on and it was quite remote feeling. Our best meal here. It has been a while and decided to give it another try. We ordered the lobster and I have to say it was perfectly cooked. It was sweet and a hint of salt. It was delicious. The rice pilaf could be a bit warmer, good flavor with small almonds and raisins. The zucchini and brussel sprouts were not hot. The zucchini was an overcooked and the sprouts were too bitter for me. Over cooked and not hot. Loved the lobster though! We also tried the baked curry cauliflower which was also very good. Nice and hot, great flavor and well cooked. Had lunch with the fam here and it was a warm day, so we got to sit out on the patio. The food was fine. Had a good caesar salad and a steak with fingerling potatoes and it was delish. Also tried the creme brulee and it needd more creme than brulee because dang, it was sweet, but all is forgiven because it was nice to eat near the shore. Food was minimal to say the least! Avoid this restaurant because they are now charging sublet prices for very little fish n chips and salmon tacos. We were seated outside and felt sorry for one nice waiter who was the only waiter outside, but did his best!we received 2 very small Fish n chips, 2 small salmon tacos one beer, one small Pino Grigio AND were still hungry so we ordered one chocolate moose 2 spoons that looked and tasted like it had not been kept cold was advertised with chocolate curls on top However we were served an old whip cream on top didn't taste baileys because the whole dessert was warm and had not been kept cold. Disgusting! Stay away from this overcharging outdoor restaurant! There are great restaurants walkable from the marina prices and food so much better. This lunch was twice as expensive as other restaurants, priced double $29 for 2 Small fish n chips, the TWO tacos made to look big but very little salmon or Cole slaw inside! We had to tip the great waiter a good 20 percent he was great. This lunch cost over 121.00! Run from this restaurant! Your lunch should NEVER cost this much. Came here to have dinner with my family. They have a large parking lot and we came at night, so couldn't see too much outside but it is on the water so I'm sure the views are pretty during the day. We waited about 20mins for a table for 5. It didn't take too long for us to be greeted, but it did feel like our server was being stretched thin as she looked overwhelmed. Nonetheless, our orders were taken, and food came out fairly quickly. The oysters were the highlight of the dinner. The rest of the food was just OK. The crab dip could've had more crab and the salmon was dry. The calamari was crispy though. The drinks here were good, but nothing that stood out. We've lived here for our whole lives. I made a reservation for my mom's 77th bday. I asked for a window if possible days in advance understanding that's not always possible. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant. My parents had trouble hearing us and there were plenty of open tables by the windows out of the way. I didn't want to cause an issue. The waitress mentioned my mom's birthday so I thought everything would be ok - but that was it. We had little table service and no other acknowledgment of a birthday. Spending hundreds of dollars for a subpar early dinner without any kindness just isn't something I will ever sign up for again. Don't go there for a special occasion. This place is one of our favorite restaurants. Not only do they send us birthday discount vouchers but also their service staff consistently delivers to make our dining experience very pleasant. Foods are great as always but this time my grilled silver salmon on their special offering menu was cooked extra long it seemed that it was kinda dry but it was still okay so I didn't complain about it. My hubby said his battered cod are just right. His Ginger Cole slaw added a nice touch to his fish. Clams and mussels were fresh and tender. Steak and halibut entrees were amazing and cooked perfectly to order. Clam chowder was also wonderful. We finished the meal with a shared burnt cream (AKA Creme Brûlée). Our server was amazing; attentive but didn't rush us through our leisurely dinner. Ambiance was good. A really solid option to bring family visiting in town. We made a Sunday night reservation to bring parents who were visiting from out of town and looking for a nice seafood dinner. We got a nice spot with a water view and service was friendly at the table. The special salmon crab cake was delightful and the huckleberry buckle was a big hit as the table. read more

Slightly underwhelmed unfortunately. Let's start with the positives! We got seated quicker than expected at a nice outdoor table as requested. Nice view of the water and the marina. Service was quick and the server was friendly and attentive. The Calamari appetizer was yummy, breading was light and crispy. Unfortunately the main dishes left a lot to be desired. I ordered the cioppino and it looked tasty! Although the tomato stew was a little thin and oddly sweet. The mussels and the crab didn't taste fresh (mussels had a slight metallic taste, I couldnt eat them). The clams were great though! The other entree of Seafood Fettuccine had the same issue as the cioppino. Seafood didn't taste fresh and the sauce thin and a little lacking in depth and expected richness from this type of sauce. I've eaten at other Anthony's restaurants and have always been really pleased with the food. A little disappointed this one didn't live up to the others. read more

I enjoyed Anthony's. Apparently it's a chain, but definitely upscale in the chain domain. It has a delightful view of the docks. We arrived shortly after they opened at 11:30 a.m. I almost got the fish and chips but wanted the local oysters. I enjoyed my pan fried oysters. Freshyearling oysters from Willapa Bay that were tender but golden brown. Served with run of the mill frozen french fries and a trio of sauces - tartar, cocktail and ketchup. My party enjoyed the calamari, Caesar salad, sourdough toast with shrimp and crab, and ponzu salmon. Nice wine selection. The Sauvignon Blanc and Albariño were good. Great service! read more

People like to say that Anthony's is expensive. Their bar prices may be a bit higher (I don't drink hard alcohol so I don't know, just what friends say). Happy hour offers great food values such as an amazing burger for $10! Recently I took a guest there for a late lunch. We both had the Rockfish for $27 each. It was a 10/10! And far better than fish I'd recently had at a local restaurant for twice that price. Servers have always been great and the atmosphere is excellent overlooking the marina. It's a place where you can safely take a guest and know you're getting great food and service consistently. read more

We did not find a lot of choices for nicer restaurants to eat in Anacortes, so we decided to give this place a try with its marina location and views. We had a decent meal that was nothing special, but it filled our bellies. I definitely had higher expectations of the seafood dishes given its proximity to the ocean. It was all fresh, but just not amazing. The Shaking Beef was a disappointment, but my husband warned me not to order it. I was expecting something similar to The Slanted Door in San Francisco, and it didn't even come close. Desserts were okay, and may be the best part of the meal. On our visit to Washington, my father (who is a local) brought us to Anthony's. He knew we were craving fresh seafood...and that's what we got here! First impression, wow what a beautiful restaurant. Second, the hostess is delightful but our server is curt and direct. She isn't rude but she most definitely isn't friendly. There was a big party in the banquet room so the food and drinks took a little while to receive. What we ordered: * Silver salmon bowl special - fresh & flavorful 4 * Clam chowder - chock full of clams & potatoes, definitely the star of the meal 4.5 * Calamari Ceasar - crispy not chewy 4 * Fish & chips (Rock cod, halibut was also an option but more expensive) - I liked that you could choose 2 or 3 fish pieces, but it was very dry and under seasoned plus the tartar sauce and the Asian ginger slaw lacked flavor 2.5 * Lobster roll - too much mayo so it was messy and masked the flavor of the lobster 3 * Pomegranate drop - tasted like orange juice 1 * Lemon drop - boozy & tart 3.5 * Fish taco & clam chowder combo - taco was much bigger than expected and was full of delicious ingredients 4.5 We also ordered a glass of Albariño and a hef beer. This was my first time here and I really enjoyed my experience. The company was wonderful, the food was incredible, and the view was absolutely gorgeous. We started off with the crab, shrimp, artichoke dip and it was really good. A little on the small side but tasty and would definitely order it again. The drinks were maybe my favorite part because they tasted so fresh and fruity with a kick. My favorite was the pear martini and you could really taste the pear. Our dinner was steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and crab cake. I really enjoyed the flavor of the steak and mashed potatoes. Broccoli was streamed and fine but nothing special. I did enjoy the crab cake with the 2 different sauces, one sweet and one salty and creamy. The ambiance was nice and everyone seemed like they were having a good time. We were visiting friends in the area and they took us here for brunch on Sunday. It's a beautiful spot right on the harbor with beautiful views. The brunch menu is straight forward with five or six breakfast items and some bowls and a burger. I opted for the New Orleans bowl. Before our food came out they brought over warm sourdough bread with butter and blueberry coffee cake with cinnamon butter.. this by far was the best part of the meal.. I could have just had this with some coffee. The New Orleans bowl was compiled of fried potatoes, sourdough bread, two over easy eggs and blackened shrimp. I was excited for the potatoes because they looked crispy and delicious but unfortunately we're not crispy (but still delicious). They were probably fried earlier and then held hot until needed; so they had lost their texture. The shrimp were a disappointment as well, way overcooked with some pieces of the tail shell still connected (not pleasant to bite into). They were seasoned well but overcooked. All in all the service was great, the views were amazing, it was a beautiful day, but the food was poorly executed. The sourdough bread and the blueberry coffee cake made the meal. read more

The Cabana is next door is part of Anthony's and open seasonally. It serves a limited specialty menu (such as hot dogs), has outdoor seating and a bocce ball court. There are better restaurants in Anacortes but Anthony's is still popular with visitors. read more

I've been to more Anthony's locations than I can count & this one is in a beautiful spot right on the water (like most of them I guess haha). We had great service and good food for a reasonable price. I got the sunset trio for $33. For my starter, I got the smoked salmon dip and it was EXCELLENT. Soooo good. Also the strawberry rhubarb lemonade was delicious. For the main, I got the salmon & shrimp duo which was tasty, but unfortunately a bit overcooked. It came with a side of asparagus that I enjoyed. Although overcooked I still enjoyed the meal, and we let the server know to tell the chef because all three of our salmons were overdone. The restaurant was kind and offered to replace our salmon (we didn't need it, we ate it anyway) and then gave us a free appetizer card for next time so I appreciated that. Finished with the burnt cream dessert which was lovely, but my mom upgraded to the strawberry rhubarb cobbler and that was even better. Hollllly crap it was so good!!! It's worth the upgrade cost. Always a good time at Anthony's and I appreciated their attempts to rectify any little issues. read more

We had lunch here while waiting for the ferry this weekend and enjoyed the beautiful view. The restaurant is laid out in the usual style for Anthony's, with sweeping views of the harbor. Our server was friendly and got our order in right away. The featured produce for their menu theme was rhubarb. I had the strawberry rhubarb lemonade, which was not great, but the margarita was much better. We each ordered a salad, and it took a really long time to get them despite the restaurant being pretty empty. The husband of mine enjoyed the bread a lot, saying it was really delicious. They have a fair amount of naturally gluten-free options on their menu but nothing special like gf bread or pasta. Once my salmon salad arrived, the salmon was really delicious, but the rhubarb vinaigrette was lacking seasoning, making the whole salad need salt and pepper. The husband was equally unexcited about his casear salad. Overall, the restaurant is a beautiful representation of most Anthony's restaurants. The service was friendly and helpful, and what we sampled had items that were great and some just average. But it's definitely worth visiting, and I'd be happy to go again and order something different on the menu next time I'm waiting for the ferry. read more

We had a party of 5 yesterday to celebrate birthdays at this Anthony's. One person in our party was wanting an option for dietary reasons. There was nothing on the menu that she could eat. She did order a shrimp salad just to order something and she showed us that there were only 6 shrimp in the salad, she was very disappointed, for 13 bucks they could at least put some shrimp in the salad. The menu is same old thing, nothing special, prices are outrageous for the quality. To top off the day several of us had to use the restrooms while there and we might as well been sitting in a sewer. The smell was disgusting! We were told it had been an issue for over a year and that they occasionally put water in the drain to make the stench not smell as bad. Seriously? Please do better, if you want the clientele that is willing to pay your prices for sub par food then fix the smell in the bathrooms! We have been going to Anthony's for decades, but this visit was definitely the last time. Very disappointing, especially for a birthday lunch! read more

We were a large group of 10, was seated right away and Debbie our server was very attentive! Always refilling drinks, without us ever having to ask. Food was delicious, served hot and fast. Food was okay, a little surprised that it was served in plastic containers with plastic utensils for the prices they charged We arrived 10 minutes before they opened for lunch because we were trying to get a table for 5. Turns out that apparently if you show up early you can just walk around behind the building and take any table you want, so by the time they opened and we got a table, they only had a table for 4 that they put an extra chair at. Everyone that ignored the business hours got a premium table while those that waited for them to open got the leftovers. Oh and they forgot the appetizer, so we had fried clams for dessert. After being burned more than a few times recently at waterfront restaurants (too many are coasting on the view and ready supply of 'One and Done' tourist traffic), I approached the idea of going to the Anthony's near where we moored our boat for the night. But we were tired and hungry and not looking forward to hiking into Anacortes for dinner. Happily, Anthony's (or at least this one) have really upped their game. THE ROSES: VERY clean, airy, and attractive dining space with excellent views of the marina. Very efficient and pleasant staff. The food was actually well executed. My wife's halibut was very nicely done, and they did a good job as well with my cod fish and chips. THE THORNS: They forgot to bring my clam chowder, which was OK because I actually was pretty full after the fish & chips. They also didn't charge me for it, so I'll let it slide. I think this place is a bit on the spendy side for what you're getting. You're clearly paying a premium to dine along the water here. THE VERDICT: I have been avoiding Anthony's properties for a while because they have frankly been seriously punching below their weight. Now I think we can say at least this one is punching AT it's weight, but definitely not above. Good service and good albeit a little pricy food make this Anthonys a pretty safe bet.
