I'm so excited because this is my first one star review! If there's one thing good about this place, its the view and thats about it. The service was friendly but honestly just really bad. After getting our food, no one checked on us for about 20 minutes and everyone avoided eye contact with me for about 10. I was looking at everyone trying to signal and no one would look my direction lol. Another thing, the food was really bad. The halibut taco had a small piece of fish on one side of the taco with the other side having nothing. It was also made using a stale flour tortilla. It was actually kinda hilarious. The clam chowder was alright, not many clams and a strong bacon flavor. The fish and chips were also bad, as a lot of the fries were undercooked. The Cioppino white fish was rubbery and the salmon was intensely overcooked. If that wasn't all bad enough, the complimentary bread they give you is extremely oily and not great. And its insanely expensive for what you get. Do NOT get the halibut taco with chowder, its basically a scam. On our way out, I also noticed around 10 plates under heatlamps waiting to be served. We had a Family Dinner last Friday (Sept 26, 2025) and we all enjoyed our meals. I had to get up to order my own drink, seems the server didn;t ask the customers at the far end, but that's okay. This place sucked like so so so so bad. Service was nonexistent and AWFUL. We waited like fifteen minutes after our food arrived to ask for hot sauce to cover up the extremely greasy taste of the clam chowder. Our waitress was friendly but service was awful. Half of my fries were undercooked, how do you have the nerve to undercook french fries?? I asked for steamed vegetables and got snow peas cooked in oil..? My fish and chips were also really oily. Everything was oily and bland not gonna lie! The fish taco had a huge stale flour tortilla with maybe a two-inch piece of fish. Only redeeming quality is the view. Silverware was dirty. I have had a lot of things that I don't like at Anthony's Beach Cafe. I know; a weird way to start a positive review. Tonight, though, I found something great, and our whole party enjoyed their choices, too. This is a redemption song? The salmon ponzu bowl is very tasty. I asked the server to request the salmon not be overcooked, and I am relieved to report they made good on my request, which is sadly more than I can say for many other Edmonds/Shoreline/Lynnwood restaurants. It has a somewhat sweet glaze that manages to be flavorful and not cloying. It's served atop a bed of white rice that nicely absorbs a little bit of that sauce. And it's paired with a fresh salad with a somewhat sweet sesame dressing. A satisfying meal that isn't too heavy. Our party also enjoyed the blackened rockfish platter, the panko-crusted true cod and fries, and the romaine hearts salad. I keep coming back to ABC because of the kids' sandbox that's open all summer. Their outdoor seating is lovely, though come with both a jacket and sunglasses/hat--it can be very sunny or very cool depending on where you sit! Sometimes there are mixed reviews on the other dishes, but this place is a good spot for fish and chips. It was a quieter day when I went - usually it can be loud inside. So, first understand the difference between the Beach Cafe and the restaurant, Anthony's is a nice restaurant, but fancier than the Beach Cafe. If you understand the service here, the food choices and overall experience will be much more limited than the restaurant. With this in mind, your expectations will be much more in line with what they offer. You will have a simplified experience, rather than an Anthony's restaurant gala. As you walk in, the view and ambiance is fantastic. I love seeing the ocean, ferry boats, wildlife and swimmers spread before me. Lovely tables. The sun was quite bright and we needed the pull down curtain options. Sat down and enjoyed the lovely view. The menu had a variety of seafood choices, which we were looking for. In ordering, we had these items: Fish and chips. Calamari on a Caesar salad. Fish tacos. Clam chowder. All good choices. But found the portion size low. Anthony's has quality, but they skimp on small portions unfortunately. But what they give you is good, just very small. Also, seems to have sat for a while, a pet peeve of mine. Hate getting particularly fried food cold. Enjoy the casual atmosphere. This is a place of humble hospitality. Expect you will be served with inexperienced servers. However,a notch up from others counter service offerings. Food that is not bad for the price, albeit skimpy protein. Any time I visit the beach cafe I'm excited for the lemonade and whatever calls to me on the menu. A go to for me is the Caesar salad. But the salad aside, I've tried the beach burger and Fresh Blackened Rockfish. The expo had a quick moment to check on me while I was sat at the bar and while I was enjoying the rockfish, she dropped a lil fun fact that the rockfish is never frozen! Always fresh. I come here often for a simple lunch or dinner with a group, it's good quality food and right on the water. It's nothing too special, but the menu offers a good variety. The staff is also always nice and quick even though they're usually pretty busy. It's got an older beachy feel to it which is great for a summer day. Eventually, we left and the same woman that delivered food to another table and then sat down at the bar picked up our menus as soon as we got up to leave. I have always had good luck at the Beach cafe. I typically get Pan fried oysters of soup and salad. I assumed the fish and chips would be good but they were very disappointing. The fish is so crusted with Panko you cannot really taste the fish. Not sure if they are making these onsite or using frozen but not up their standards. The Beach Cafe was a dining out staple of my family growing up. It was one of our more heavily frequented lunch/dinner places as both of my parents and my sister loved seafood. I was not as hardcore of a seafood foodie as they were, but I loved eating out here, both the food and the experience. Parking was typically not a problem, unless it was a busy mealtime. It was one of the places that had really great bread served before the entrees. They had kid menus and coloring sheets, which they would bring crayons out with. My sister asked for that on occasion even after she grew out of being a child. Food was consistently excellent, wait times depended on a mix of the item(s) ordered and how busy the restaurant was. We would sit outside occasionally, with one highlight on a cooler occasion. They had outdoor heaters, so my sister would typically make a fuss to sit the closest to the heater. I had long hair (past the bottom of my ears) and learned it could help keep my head and neck warm if I wore it down. With my current haircut, a buzzcut, I might need headwear to keep my noggin warm. read more

We decided to pop in for an early "linner" before the dinner crowd hit. My husband got the blue plate special - salmon cakes. I got the entree version of the fried oysters with corn. We both really enjoyed the fried. My oysters will crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. But the corn topping was rather sparse. Both our dishes had a generous portion of slaw. We ordered 2 salads, 2 three piece fish and chips, 1 plain buttered noodles, 1 side fries and 5 soft drinks and paid WITH TIP roughly 180.00 DOLLARS!??? unbelievable. DON'T ORDER TO GO! you wont get any salt and pepper, it will take you holding your food in bags waiting for someone to fill your sodas for over 5 minutes while you stand there and your food gets colder. Brought a dear friend since high school who was visiting from the east coast the sight see in Edmonds. We walked thru the street fair and checked out the vendors. Then decided we needed some nourishment so we decided to get some seafood. Drove a short distance to Anthony's Seafood Cafe for a late lunch. We ordered a Seafood chop chop salad, a Hawaiian Cobb salad with mango, Beacon, and avocados. My friend ordered the cooping and Cesar salad. They brought a basket of buttered herb sourdough bread to the table. Everything was delicious, fresh and tasty greens and fruits. Fresh seafood! Will definitely go back again if we are in the area. Our visitor thoroughly enjoyed her lunch. Service was courteous and attentive. Restrooms were clean an neat. Btw, we sat at a table outside by the water and watched the sailboats pass by. Went there to place an order for two burgers to go. Ordered both of them medium. Got home, and both were cooked to well-done, not what I ordered. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager. Four minutes later, the manager came on the line and I told her about the mistake. She said she would tell the kitchen. That's it. Not good service, and not a good reaction to a call to tell them about a mistake. They need to make sure orders are correct, and do a better job of correcting them when a customer calls to tell them. read more

What I ordered: Baker's Bowl ($14.95) - clam chowder in a bread bowl served with Caesar salad, the Hawaiian Cobb ($16.95), as well as a children's fish & chips. My friends sweet in-laws took us to Anthony's for a nice dinner and an experience of Washington's fresh seafood. It's a warm, upscale restaurant right on the water with a beautiful view as the bot pass by. If you have friends coming into town, what a great place to have them come and see the views and what Edmond's has to offer. FOOD : My friend and I got the Atlantic Salmon which was already way better than any Midwest salmon I've had. It was fresh and didn't taste one bit fishy (.. praise.). It was definitely a LARGE salmon and I was full for the next 3 days. I didn't love the sauce they topped it with, could've done without it, but the fish itself was great and I knew it was fresh. I tried to eat as much of the vegetables that I could, but honestly they were gross. I couldn't figure out the seasoning or sauce they had on them, but it was... not exactly delightful. The mashed potato was a nice touch to the fish but overall it just didn't sit right for me. The rest of the table loved their dishes and seemed to have no problems! We got a berry crumble for dessert that was good but also wasn't groundbreaking! ATMOSPHERE / SERVICE : we had an AWESOME waitress who was very attentive and helpful. As for the atmosphere, it's dimly lit, strung with wood and warm features but also a bit outdated. $$-$$$ : I would say this is a fancier / pricier restaurant, so maybe best for adults and smaller groups. I come here every year as a traditional birthday meal for a family member. I am always start off a bit irked due to having to wait anywhere from 15-45 minutes for a table. It's frustrating that they don't take reservations and it appears there are several open tables. They need to take reservations and get parties seated much quicker. We waited 20-25 minutes on a Sunday at 4:30pm for an outside seat. That shouldn't happen. It starts the experience on a less than desired spot, even though the weather is usually great, as is the view. I like the smaller menu. I thought the prices were at a good price-point. The waitress was great. She hustled. I noticed her hard work. She really saved this review. But the breaded cod I ordered tasted burnt and was rather dry. The fries weren't really crisp either. Also, the very limited choices of soft drinks (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and bottled root beer) was a bit of a bummer. I give today a 2 star today. The cook didn't do the plate justice. Yet over the several years, the least I can give them is an average. I encourage them to take reservations. I'm not sure what they're holding out for. Don't they want to know they have seats booked? I'm sure they have their reasons. But it doesn't click with me. Also they need offer more soft drinks. I'm sure I will return next summer. It's tradition. We started at Anthony's in Edmonds but ended up here. The reason for the change was that you could not sit at the bar or even eat at the bar due to the bartender can not wait on the guests in the bar . So this makes you have to move to the dinning room and that means put your name on a waiting list and wait. I do believe this is to not enough staff. Which means no bussed tables. We have been here and hour and more then half of the tables have not turned over for new guests. Instead that have them wait 20 mins for no one clean a table. This is so not ok since we saw so many people leave due to the hostess saying there are no tables available . We could have had the whole placed bussed in less then 10 mins. Very disappointing . The Mexican/Hispanic waitress who was working today (10/21/2025) @ 11:30AM was extremely inattentive and lazy. We were there at opening and before there was a rush. She had to be asked several times and reminded for basic items like a water or napkin. Etc. She never came to check how things were- I had to go find the hostess at the front for a refill. Near the end i waved her down and asked for more water for the table as she hadn't refilled anyone's the entire time we were there; she comes back with the same pitcher from the beginning, sans the ice and cold, and refilled everyone's cup with room temperature water that had been sitting out the entire time. We are no longer contagious with Covid and it seems forever since we've been out so after running errands and a quiet afternoon at the beach we decided to stop in for a meal. So glad we did! Great service, very bad food. My friend ordered mussels. No garlic or butter, just in wet "oily sauce". She said they tasted off. She ordered fettuccine with shrimp. The cream sauce was watery and awful. That was returned to kitchen. The bread had no flavor. The blackberry cobbler was runny and crust was doughy inside.
