I have mixed feelings about this place. I love their Greek style pizza. However, it's INSANELY expensive for what you'd expect from a pizza place. The toppings are $2.25 each regardless of whether it's a meat or veggie option. HOW?! How do you justify making me pay $5 for a handful of peppers and onions? We ordered a large pizza tonight with green pepper and onion on half, and pepperoni on half, and it was $20. I also like their mozzarella sticks, but it's $9.19 for a SMALL!!! I hate ordering anything more than a pizza because of how quickly the prices add up here. I've tried the roast beef sandwich and chicken fingers and wasn't a fan of either. I know my parents didn't care for the fried seafood they ordered. They just charge way too much for a pizza place that really isn't anything special. Like I said, I do love their pizza but I'm officially done getting ripped off by this place. read more

I usually get my roast beef sandwiches at Royal Roast Beef, just across the street from Anthony's and thought I would give the new guys a try. I ordered my sandwich and asked for dark mustard with it. That's it. The counter person didn't even know what that was, which concerned me, and turned and asked the sandwich maker about it. He said "no, I don't think so" in a disdainful way. I thanked them for their time and as I was walking away the sandwich maker made a snide comment about mustard. The reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because i have really enjoyed their cheeseburger calzone and have gotten it a few times. Other than that nothing to write home about. I live a block away and they couldn't find the house. Food arrived after multiple calls and my bf met driver along the side of the road...not really worth the extra cost of delivery at that point. Also pretty pricy for standard roast beef and pizza joint. 8 bucks for 5 mozz sticks The thing that bothered me the most is we ordered because of their flyer saying they had half off pasta day the night we ordered. When we asked for that discount they had no idea what we were talking about. Literally the next day we got a new flyer with that offer...so what the hell? As soon as I got in the woman at the front counter was so nasty to my children and I I stopped the order and cancel our order. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless a dog , that's how they will treat you I would not trust the food if someone that nasty is allowed to work there . read more

Tried Anthony's for the first time tonight. VERY disappointed. I ordered a SMALL tossed chicken tender and a SMALL mozzarella stick and the total was $24! The tenders were mediocre and the mozzarella sticks tasted like freezer food. We got a scratch off coupon in the mail that gave us a free pizza with our order which is the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars. Was in area and wanted to get a Roast Beef sandwich .. so ... saw ANTHONYS ROAST BEEF ... and figured must be a good place as Roast Beef is in the name.... it all started pretty good... he put the roll on the grill to toast ... BUT.. then he pulled out a Tupperware container with the Sliced Beef in there.. (probably from yesterday--as I was there at 11:00 am.. and then pushed the button on the micro .... sorry ... I like it sliced FRESH and served ..... sorry ... BUT... beef was good but COLD..... did not know there is another BEEF place around ... will try the other place next time.... I go to Harrison's and Steve's and they ALL slice the BEEF fresh when you order... dahhhhhh pulling out the beef from Tupperware and then MICRO.. no sorry .... that is not fast food that is quickie food..... lazy food... sorry .. had to post.... read more

I've been to Anthony's quite a few times. The food is pretty good but the portion size is small for what you pay. I ordered a pulled pork meal tonight with rice and side salad. It took 1 hour (which they told me it would take 1 hour) but the sandwich was on a regular burger bun and it was a small portion of rice and salad for 16$. read more

Called in an order and got a pick up time and after we left to pick it up, the delivery time was changed by 20 minutes. Had to wait when we got there and they seemed confused as to what was going on. I lived in Methuen most of my adult life and have never had an experience with a restaurant like this. First time ordering this month of May 2018. I ordered delivery for a fried scallop dinner, which came with coleslaw and tartar sauce and I had my choice of two sides. I asked for the salad and onion rings. Needless to say I was craving for fried scallops that day. When the driver came, I tipped him and said thank you, have a nice day. I waited over 40 minutes for my dinner as well. I proceeded to open my dinner. My fried scallop plate for $19.99 consisted of only 4 scallops, no coleslaw or tartar sauce and no dressing for my salad. Who gets a fish dinner with no tartar or coleslaw. Very unhappy, will not be ordering from them again read more

Ordered online, I first get a text message giving me a time my order will be ready, then I received another text almost immediately after adding another 20 minutes to pick up the order. I showed up at the first time indicated and once I brought my order home I realized I paid for a large order of tenders and received a small, also French fries were ice cold. I called and spoke a female employee about the tenders issue and she apologized for the mistake and my only two options were to either go pick up the rest of the order or receive a credit. In regards to the cold fries I was given a lame excuse that because they are shoe string fries they cool off fast and I should think of choosing one of their other French fry options. The person on the phone showed no remorse for the mistake or cold fries and continued to talk over me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. This is not the first time this has happened esp the cold fries. They need to give better times on their online ordering so that the food is as close to hot as possible. Their quality of food is generally good and I gave them the benefit of the doubt and placed another order but I guess because of how I was treated by the person on the phone I may think twice before ordering here again. read more

I wish I had known about their version of a "calzone" before I spent $22 on a large chicken parm calzone. It's like a double layered pizza with barely any chicken inside and a nauseating amount of cheese on top of it. Picture a large pizza with a soggy bottom crust, a few chicken cutlets and a solid inch of greasy cheese on top. We love cheesy pizza but this was absolutely inedible. A group of friends and I were Passing thru the area and found Anthony's Roast Beef thru a quick google search of "fast" restaurants in the area. Anthony's has a lot of variety to choose from! The roast beef quality was superb (even better than anticipated) the restaurant and bathroom were clean and bright. I was helped by a sweet girl Kim at the register and another nice young man who's name I didn't make note of. They were both very polite and smiling which is refreshing these days. The prices were fair and the portions were large, we ended up with two large roast beef subs (highly recommended) and a buffalo chicken wrap. They were piled high and bursting at the seams! The google search turned up a few other places in the area. One being royals roast beef which is just about right next door. the competing restaurant looked grungy, dirty and unkempt, with an empty parking lot, not very inviting. when you drive up and see the two restaurants it was an easy choice for us. Great daily deals! My parents consistently go here at least once a week and love it. I usually get a calzone and occasionally get steak tips. They have been scarce in the past but last night I got what look liked 2 average sized steak tips cut into 6 miniature tips that were bite sized enough for a toddler to eat without having to cut smaller. Although the deals are good we might have to find somewhere new to regularly order from that accommodates all orders!! I hope it was a one time flaw. read more

This place used to be spot on with getting orders right but something has changed. Seafood dinner missing coleslaw and tartar sauce, chicken kabob dinner missing side of house dressing. The final straw was this chicken being burnt. I'm heading back to Royal House of Beef. read more

Consistently good food. Best pizza I've found thus far north of Boston. And, I recommend their broccoli bites. Maybe not the healthiest thing in the menu, but they are delicious. They now serve fresh seafood and I speak highly of the fried clams, calamari, baked scallops and shrimp. read more

Absolutely love this place. My wife and I plan our meals for the week but I always hold out hope there is one less dinner we buy at market basket just so we can order Anthony's one night. Their sweet pizza is phenomenal along with their calzones and sandwiches. I've always had a pleasant experience whenever I stop in. Everyone is personable behind the counter. I am giving this place a one star rating. I spoke with the owner of the chain, she was great. This review is specifically for the Methuen location based on service. The food is good, but unfortunately I will never go back. The food ordered a chicken salad wrap, with red onion, and green peppers. What I got was a chicken salad wrap with hot cooked green peppers. Now this could of been a complete lack of communication on my part, so I called in to see if there was anything that could be done, because the food that I received was not as expected. The manager on the other end told me there was nothing she could do because that's what I ordered. When I explained that not only that things were missing, but that I didn't expect cooked peppers in a cold sandwich, she hung up on me. I called back, and she told me that she didn't have the ingredients, I asked why I wasn't contacted and she said we don't do that and hung up on me again, at this point I was extremely irritated. I called once more and asked for a refund for the food, she said they don't do refunds and hung up on me again. I called AGAIN. At this point extremely irritated and disappointed with the service, and a different girl answered, I asked if I could speak with the manager, who I then hear laughing with her other coworkers in the back ground saying "oh is she bothering you too? Hang up" and I got hung up on again. At this point I decided to call the Tewksbury location to figure something out, the girl on that end was amazing and connected me to the owner and I spoke with her about the situation. Order Seafood Platter It was Stale and Gross. I do not know what or how they fried it but the batter was really odd it was dry and heavy. The shrimp when i bite it the batter which was more or a shell broke off and the shrimp stayed whole and was rubbery. the clams had a sandy fishy taste . through it away. the onion ring greasy and stale . the only thing that was good was the 4 scallops . thrown out the whole thing. Was very sad Since I have Order this 3 times before and it was very good and fresh for 28.00 Dollars you should make sure it a least fresh and cooked right. I read great reviews saying their roast beef was better than Royals' so I had to see for myself. First I had to sit in my car waiting for a parking space...for about 5 minutes. Their roast beef was grounded more or less. Roast beef for sandwiches is supposed to be shaved, this was NOT. So I was raised on Rileys, Harrison's, ...I know good roast beef sandwiches. Anthony's Roast Beef Methuen. Pepper potato and egg sub (omelette sub). They messed up our order the first time then we had to wait 50 min for the new one to come and when it did it was disgusting, barely any egg and what was there was burned, they put soggy french fries in it not potatoes and overloaded it with peppers it was inedible and i was offered a credit to my slice account only AFTER I asked them to please refund my card which they wouldn't do. They should have refunded my card. I didn't even complain about the nasty, cold, rubber clams or the 5 spicy fries that was in my small order. I order here all the time but this will be the last. I wish i complained about the raw buffalo fingers i received a month ago but i Let that slide. Rude customer service to boot with no help even for loyal customers. Horrible management do not care about the customer. They promised to help me and issue us a refund I thought they did this whole time, I am truly disgusted with this restaurant and its management. I decided to try this restaurant after a flyer since they had half price specials during the week. It's ok but nothing Id run back for. The young girl on the phone sounded inexperienced taking our order. Asked if we wanted cheese on our park dish. She said it was extra cheese since there was already some on it. There wasn't any when I got home and she gave me the wrong pasta. The alfredo dish is pretty thick too and the pasta was dry, you had to mix it around yourself. read more

I was so happy to see this place open up as I have been to their Reading location, which is very good. Ordered takeout. Got an Italian on a pita wrap and steak tips. Awful. The wrap was old and stale and crumbled apart like an old potato chip. The meat was not fresh. Inedible. Had to literally throw it away. The steak tips were burnt to a crisp and hard as a rock. I should have known when I ordered after I was not asked how I would like them cooked. The only good thing was the rice.
