Meet the Business Owner: Franco Bompieri B.

He says that he is only interested in two things: hair cutting and writing. Franco Bompieri was born in Volta Mantovana in 1934 and arrived in Milan in 1949. He is the owner of Antica Barbieria Colla, one of the oldest and most prestigious hair salons and barber shops in the city, in Via Morone 3. In his spare time, Franco Bompieri is also a writer. Over the years, a lot of famous people have been in his shop, a sort of British club, where people often discussed about politics and literature. The most famous Italian publishing companies have published Bompieri's books. Franco Bompieri and thus Antica Barbieria Colla reflects a city, Milan, that does not exist any more. He is a "craftsman of elegance", who experienced hunger but also attended La Scala theatre, saw street cleaners and princes, thieves and big bankers.
