Hotel Antica Torre was clean but dated. It's a nice enough 3-star hotel and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately the location was a little inconvenient. It's about .7 miles from Piazza Gramsci--which is a long way to roll your luggage up and down cobblestone streets. There also weren't a lot of restaurants nearby, so expect to walk a bit to most of Siena's sights, shopping and dining.
The rooms were a bit small and the whole hotel was a bit cramped. We were on the third floor, atop a tall, winding staircase. The bathroom was quite confined with some odd, dated fixtures. The shower was tiny and I could rest my head against the wall whilst sitting on "the throne." If you are a heavy person or have trouble with stairs I would not recommend this hotel.
I don't want to rag on Antica Torre too much--the rooms were quiet, the bed was comfortable and the hotel was clean. There was a nice included breakfast. We had a good experience here--it was just not the best. read more
