The room was airy and spacious tastfully decorated, clean and complete with tv, mini bar and lovely en suite. Location is wonderful, only 2 mins walk to the Guinigi Tower and less to the main shopping street. Despite its central location the hotel was quiet and relaxing. Now on to the best bit, if you like eggs you will love this place. How do you like them? Just say and they will do them for you, alongside breakfast buffet of cereal, breads, meats, fresh fruit and the best coffee in Lucca. We are going back asap and hope to many times over. The hotel is conveniently located near the city center where there's lots of shops and restaurants and a grocery store, and it's walkable to the train station for day trips to Florence. Also just a few blocks nearby are a pedestrian shopping street and the funicula station. WiFi was free but painfully slow, at times, could not get a connection at all, even just to surf, let alone try to upload photos. My room was above the kitchen and had a balcony overlooking the kitchen's back door and facing the backsides of 3 other hotels. It was a noisy, noisy, intersection, and a add a touring group of teenagers and French tourists to that, the cacophony was deafening. Interior is kind of dingy. We had breakfast and dinners included, which we ate in the hotel. Breakfast was the standard around Italy, platter of meat (ham or salami), platter of white cheese, rolls, cold cereal, yogurt, coffee, milk, juice. Dinners were mediocre, started with American-style romaine salad with tomatoes, carrots, radicchio. We usually had soup to start, which were all very good (pasta e fagioli, split pea, lentil and barley), pasta dishes were forgettable, the main meat and potatoes were unspeakably bad. Service was friendly and efficient.

You find this little gem after a short drive through the country side passing olive groves and cute country towns. San Gennaro sits on top of the hill overlooking the beautiful Tuscany below. Secondly the accomodation is lovely. Freshly built/renovated. Whilst it is no 5 star resort, there is nothing more you could ask for. The owner is also moving towards a green/eco accomodation and in doing so achieving a certain level of accreditation for this. Finally the hosts are just delightful. Some of the most lovely people I have met. Made us feel completely at home with an extremely friendly and welcoming nature. We accepted the invitation of dinner one night whereby we feasted like kings on a 5 course belly busting culinery voyage for a really cheap price that included wine and limencello!! I wouldn't hesitate to return here and have no qualms strongly recommending it to friends.

Centrally located just off a main (but narrow) street so it's easy to walk to all the sites & shops & food, yet still quiet once inside the space. Gorgeous old building with all the beauty of old architecture (high ceilings with tall windows, stone steps) but modernized in a very comfortable way, including showers with jets/steam. Room decor is elegant and cheerful and tasteful. The breakfast had a wide range of delicious offerings and I liked that it's served from 7:30 to 11am. The staff were exceptionally kind and warm and helpful. Such a gem of a place, I hope I can stay there again someday!

We weren't exactly sure what was happening but then the food started coming.....and coming. It was our most memorable dinner in Italy and the happiest of accidents. Airone Pisa Park is a simple but comfortable small hotel situated in the countryside of Tuscany…read more I've stayed there on two occasions now and hope to go there again one day, as it provides a very reasonable base for touring Tuscany in relaxing peaceful surroundings. Comfortable large rooms with good size beds and modern ensuite bathrooms. Everything was kept spotless and the rooms are serviced every day. It has a great swimming pool set in pretty grounds that are fragranced with rose bushes and oleander hedges. There are free bicycles to borrow which was ideal for exploring locally, though the main road from Pisa is a little busy so too scary for me to venture onto, I stuck to the little paths and lanes. The bicycles were in need of a little maintenance but luckily we managed to get two punctureless bikes cobbled together!!! Though the hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant there was an excellent one next door, I'll review it separately to do it justice.

The surroundings of this little hotel reminds me of the Farming lands in Asia country. Quiet peaceful. They have a restaurant. One thing I wasn't sure about dinning in Europe is that every where I eat the food is like "salty" when I say salty it really mean they put lots salt. Sometimes, I do wish they have FDA like we do in the US so the food is less salty after knowing consuming too much salt is not healthy. Anyways, their rooms are quiet large and so does the bed. But they do have "old-fashioned" bulky TVs that doesn't have many English channels. I remembered the hotel has a house cat which was quiet friendly, it accompanied me when I stayed there : )

It's always crowded, rightfully so as a main attraction. This last time we did a day trip and took the train from Rome, stopped in Pisa for 2 hours, then back on the train to Florence. Worth it.

It's my pleasure to add it here…read more That was our first stop during recent Tuscany trip (got back 2 days ago) and we knew right away that it will be tough to match it. That's how good it is. Location: 300m from train station, even closer from the bus terminal. If you arrive by air (as we did), the 10-min bus ride (1.50 euro) will bring you on the Piazza. Setup: I believe they have only 6 rooms, 3rd floor without elevator. Hosts live on premises, and you can't ask for better and more friendly hosts than Irene and Simone. They speak English, they really want to make your stay comfortable, they serve extremely good breakfasts (our was included in the room rate). Don't hesitate to ask them for any advice about your trip: they know the stuff and they are happy to help. Rooms: modern, convenient and unusually spacy. Bathrooms are bigger than most in US, I would say. We stayed two nights and that was super start for our vacation. Hope you'll like it, too.
