I love this store we began going to Annies back in 2017 and occasionally since we moved. Today being April 2 2026 we now find the store is permanently closed? I am reluctantto believe it. She has a beautiful selection of dinnerware, China, silver plated utensils, crystal. It is a shame I am truly saddened about this closure. A small, but lovely little antique shop. The lady working was very sweet and showed us around. She gave us a tour of the various dollhouses they have for sale. She also offered us bottled water while we browsed--it was a hot day. The store has lots of interesting stuff. While I thought some stuff (esp the kitchen stuff) was a tad overpriced, there were many bargains to be found. I found a first edition of an Anne of Green Gables series book for $10. To be fair, it's not super valuable since it was mass produced, but it's still cool and worth more than that. I also got some lovely antique glass furniture knobs for $6 or $8 (can't remember). It's not a huge store, but we spend a good 30 minutes in here looking around. Def worth a visit if you find yourself with some free time in Sac. read more

Most of the time when I write a negative review, I feel okay about it, but this just feels sad. We went in at the end of Feb 2023 and spotted a stack of china that we wanted to buy. Each piece was marked with a price, but there was also a note offering the whole stack at $200. When you see that in an antique store, usually it means each piece was marked up a little because they don't want to split up the set (even if, like this time, it was just a partial set), and the "lot" price is what the whole pile should sell for. In this case, the per-piece pricing was just a tiny bit under what Replacements(dot)com sells them for. Talking with the owner, we pointed out the lot, and she seemed happy to be selling it. So we brought it up to the front counter and continued looking around the store. She started muttering things like "who priced this?" After a few minutes she asked my girlfriend to come talk about the lot. She claimed the lot price was put out by an assistant she had who wasn't an expert on antiques, and who now no longer works there. She said she would be taking a loss on the lot if she sold it for $200. We're like, um okay, this is weird. She says she could do $250. We tell her we'll think it over, and we continue shopping, and talked it over out of earshot. $250 was approaching the total itemized price of the lot. My girlfriend is saying, at that point, why not just skip it. I know she wants the lot, and I like the pattern so I want it too, but at this point the price swap has us a bit off-kilter. Because that's really just not done. But I wanted to remain clear-headed and not let a little faux pas deter us. Anyway, the owner then had about 15-20 mins to think things through. (Meanwhile, she was following us around and trying to "actively sell" which is something I haven't seen in another antique store) We returned to the counter. We said yes, we still want the set at $250. The owner got a shocked look on her face and exclaimed, "I CAN'T POSSIBLY LET IT GO FOR $250!" We were a little stunned. We moved toward the door. But my girlfriend paused and told her, "I don't understand, you literally ~just said~ you'd do $250." It actually seemed like the owner either didn't remember that offer, or she was too confused and discombobulated to keep her head straight in general. So we left. So here are the possibilities. #1: The owner was telling the truth, and an underqualified assistant wrote a low price for a lot. The owner has a duty to train her helper, or oversee the work, and certainly to review inventory pricing over time. And it's a customer service question at that point: do you honor the price on the tag (which is the legal requirement, of course, but I'm sure you find that unpersuasive), or do you try to meet the customer in the middle and maybe break even on the sale, or do you try to jack it up and make a full profit despite the problems? #2: The owner forgot how much she actually bought the lot for, and it was possible for her to profit at $200, but she made a mistake and thought she bought it for about that price or even higher. I doubt a professional would buy inventory for more than 30% of the retail price, but what do I know. #3: The pricing WAS accurate, but it happened back in 2013 or whatever, and now because of inflation everything is more expensive. The owner looks at the $200 sticker, but her valuation judgement is in the 2023 market, and thinks it should have been $300 instead. And then, instead of her brain immediately taking responsibility for not re-pricing over time, she instantly blames an old assistant, because it's human nature to preserve our internal mythologies. I'm going to be generous and for Possibility #3 I'll assume the price adjustment happened because the owner isn't updating pricing and isn't thinking clearly, rather than an intentional bait-and-switch. I didn't get scam vibes, I got "she should probably retire" vibes. read more

We just found our way to Annie's yesterday. It's everything I could ask for in an antique shop. There are so many unbelievable treasures here. I left with several vintage/antique books WITH the story behind them and an awesome 1920's brass(?) rooster wall hook (yeah, it's awesome). It's neat to be able to find someone who can tell you the history of an item. Annie is a wealth of information and a treasure herself. I'll definitely be heading back soon! read more

Have been wanting to stop in for a few months and finally made. The have all the safety measures in place. Get you temperature takes as you walk in by a temperature scanner. Also sanitizer is provided. Treasures display outside on the sidewalk and once you enter the store you can see soooo many items. Dishes, tea cups, mid century lamps and figures, jewelry, tools, clothing along with hats, etc. I scored a Carnival relish dish as soon as I entered. My daughter loves it, she a collector. I believe I spotted a old washer? Greeted by Annie as I walked in and she a soft spoken lovely gracious lady. She'll answer any questions and guide you on your hunt. So drop in and cruise the aisles and hopefully you'll score on a unique item, I know I did. Great store and I'll definitely be back. read more

My wife and I had been searching for a dining room table for months and had given up hope of finding a table with character that would not run us thousand of dollars and than we found Annie's. Stopped into this store last weekend and was not impressed. There were no prices on the items and everything seemed way over priced. when I asked a grey haired lady how much something was it seemed outrageous and she seemed to be intoxicated, I could smell alcohol on her breath. She also followed me around the store saying "isn't that great" I was getting annoyed! I went to the front counter where another lady with an accent was sitting, she was rude and short with me when I asked abut a necklace. Annie is the bomb! I went into her store to find a vintage manual typewriter for my grandaughter for Xmas. She wants to type the manuscript of her first book on a manual typewriter not her Mac.... This was by the way at the very last minute before Xmas and I was doubtful I would find it, but Annie had 15 or more and she pulled them all off the shelves so I could check them out. The price was much lower compared to what I priced on the internet and the customer service was exceptional, she pulled out all the stops, it was top notch! This little antique store has everything you could imagine, so if you need a really unusual one of a kind gift this is the place. If you are a collector or just love the old, unusual or beautiful, this is the place! If her prices are too high, I would suggest making her an offer, you never know, you will most likely be walking out the door with a good deal in your pocket and a smile on your face! I drive by this store frequently and usually see cute things outside. So based off all the good reviews I stopped in one day. I'm not sure if they were having a bad day or not but wow did the level of unprofessional behavior shock me. One of the women there was LOUDLY ranting about a variety of things, literally non stop the entire time I was in there. They do have some cute stuff but jeez is it overpriced! The majority of items aren't priced so you have to ask at the register. Example, I had picked up 2 small old white glass Ponds jars, nothing fancy or rare. In fact I've seen the same ones at other antique stores from $1.5-$4 and the $4 ones were at super high end rocklin stores. She quotes me $6, which seemed steep, until she finished the sentence with "each". Um thanks but no, if I wanted to spend an outrageous amount of money I would go somewhere that doesn't have the shrill ramblings of an unhappy women as background music. read more
