I ordered a large thin crust pizza, still in search for New York pizza. The place has the look of authenticity; and the service is quick. The pizza tasted ok, but not good. I was given the choice of medium or large for thin crust pizza, I chose large, but it was more like medium. But, this is not what got to me. I only pursued Antonelli's because I did not like the way the pizza looked at Prime Grocery store in the same area in lorton, VA. I have been buying their homemade pizza since they opened about two years ago. Today, the pizza crust was dry with small coordinates holes around the edges. When I got home, the pizza from Antonelli's was the same, from the back to all around the edges had these coordinated holes. I asked a bunch of questions and she walked me through her favorites, gave great recommendations, and was just the sweetest! Ending up having sides/apps. Terrible customer service. I went in on 10/30/23 around 4pm and no one was at the counter. I had ordered online and could see that my food was ready over the counter. After a good while a young man came out from behind the curtain covering the kitchen and didn't greet me, instead he rolled his eyes annoyed that he had customers waiting. Service is prompt and orders are always ready within the time specified. Recently, I had the Venetian Pizza which was a delicious vegetarian option. The toppings were fresh and the dough a good mix of soft, bready and chewy. I wasn't sure if feta would go well with a white sauce pizza, but it did and the onions provided enough crunch for a little texture. My next visit I was trying to decide between a calzone and a stromboli, but decided to get the stromboli as it seemed like the less calorie dense option. The Create Your Own Stromboli option lets you choose 3 toppings with mozzarella already included and marinara on the side. Visited this pizza place this morning when they opened with my 4 year old. Stood at the counter for 5 minutes as numerous employees walked by without providing service of any kind. Sign on the door indicated they were open for dine-in. All of the chairs were still on top of the tables. The manager emerged finally and indicated they were open for dine-in but hadn't prepared the dining room for customers. I took my son to the bathroom while they prepared the tables. Came back to a table and sat there for 15 minutes without any sort of service whatsoever. Several additional employees had also entered during this time. Found this gem leaving DC on my way back to NC. We were taking an alternative route as 95 was backed up. Right off the exit (163) we saw this place when initially we were just going to stop at the 7/11. We'll thankfully we gave this a try. We've both ordered the chicken cheesesteak combo which was about 10.59 for fries and a drink . The sandwich and fries were delicious! I should have placed an order to go. I was actually driving to another restaurant when I accidentally took the southbound ramp instead of the northbound ramp like a moron. As I started to make my U-turn in Lorton I saw a sign that said Pizza & Subs, so I pulled right in. It was Antonelli's Pizza. I did what one does when they go to a pizza place and I ordered myself a pepperoni pizza. Its the solo lunch special. Most pizza places have a $6 pizza/drink special, here it is $10 with 1 topping. However, this pizza is bigger but I had no trouble eating the whole thing. The fountain soda portion of the special sucked. That is because they have a pepsi machine. It didn't even have Dr. Pepper. I've found that many small businesses have Pepsi...it must be cheaper or something. Its bad news, but this is a pizza place not a soda store, so lets get back to the main idea. The restaurant has several tables, but its not super comfy. The pizza took a long time to come out. Something like 10 minutes, so I would recommend calling ahead. Many people were ordering the lunch pizza to go. It isn't deep dish but the crust is a little thick. The crust was my favorite part. The pizza was oversauced, globs of hot sauce squirting out on 1 bite, then no sauce the next bite. And all the cheese pretty much just fell of the pizza immediately. I ate the whole thing but my plate had a lot of sauce/cheese on it. Its solid pizza, This place was better than 2 other nearby non chain pizza places, so its a good option for the area.
