Great personal service, Food was awesome, convenient location and I highly recommend for excellence.

I don't give negative reviews very often but when i have a meal like the one i had at Antonio's then it is deserved. I wanted to try someplace new and i saw positive reviews of their fish tacos so i went for lunch. I was greeted by stqff when entering which was nice. One of the first things that struck me was the overwhelming smell of burnt or stale grease. I don't know if they have a fryer that needs new oil or what but it was an unpleasant and distracting odor. Secondly, the bar surface that i chose to eat at was sticky. Now this is just after opening at 11:30a. Not that eating surfaces should ever be sticky but it is somewhat more understandable at the end of a day rather than the beginning. I ordered the two fish taco platter with rice and beans. My first bite of rice and beans seemed a bit salty. I have had bland beans before but never beans as over salted as these were. Then i bit into the taco and it followed the same flavor profile of being too salty. But it was garnished well and the fish filet was of good proportion, but it didn't look fresh and certainly did not taste very good. In fact i left one whole taco uneaten, which i NEVER do because i am a fish taco addict, but the flavor just got so salty i couldn't eat anymore. And since the rice and beans were salty also i couldn't really eat any more of that either. I left half my plate uneaten. A rarity for me. Also the chips and salsa are NOT complimentary but i must say they were the best thing i had there. Still, $6 for chips and salsa that are free elsewhere is poor value. Net net, those who say they have the best tacos ever need to get out more. There are plenty of other places in midtown that are hands down better than antonios. read more

Always a good meal at Antonio's. They make you feel welcome, like family. I get the same order every time. 3 asada tacos a with extra cilantro and onion. As always, quick and full of flavor. I'm due to go back! read more

Came here for a date Friday night. I haven't been here in YEARS. It was a nice reminder of the special gems that stick around in downtown. We posted up at the bar and ordered cocktails. Their Paloma was fresh and delicious I had to have two. We also had a shot of Don Julio. I should've asked for it chilled, so it went down not so easy with me the main event, the Al Pastor tacos. Absolutely to DIE for. So damn good. Stuffed perfectly with salsa, onions, cilantro and lime. I quite honestly could have eaten 5 more. read more

Best veggie tacos in town with the warmest service that will make anyone feel like family. Not only are the tacos (which they have a great deal on Tuesdays 3 for $12) amazing but pretty much everything I've tried here is top notch. They also have a full bar which compliments traditional drinks from many places south of the border. Indoor and outdoor seating, making it a dog friendly place downtown but they also validate parking in the garage across the street. Great place to come alone, as a couple or in a big group. I came here with a couple of friends for lunch. We had an appointment close by so we stopped here for lunch before hand. It's a smaller place with only a few people working. The waitress was friendly and very efficient We ordered right at the time of lunch rush and our food still came out in a timely manner. I got a carne asada taco and a carne asada Gordita. The meat was very tender, flavorful and filling. I will for sure come here again before my next appointment! read more

Food was great, service was even better. The lady owner in sparkling holiday outfit was warm, courteous and communicative. Got two burritos, a grilled chicken plate and a shrimp taco salad. What I loved about this lady's service was she placed order for ladies first and I absolutely felt being respected so did my lovely daughter. She also communicated with me in advance asking if it is ok to add fish in my taco salad since they were running low on shrimp. I said ok. It turned out the taco shrimp/fish salad was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, veggie, beans, grilled seafood and green sauce all complemented very well. Whoever in the kitchen knows how to cook and prepare for food. The food made us fall in love with Mexican cuisine all over again. Interior design was a mixture of old and new with Mexican cultural elements as focal point. Vibe was dynamic and lively. The owner brought much life to the environment. We stumbled upon this hidden gem while we were visiting from out of town. Sat at the bar and met Anthony who welcomed us and made us feel like we were long time friends! He gave us a few samples of his specialty blackberry margaritas and his own favorites. The food was also amazing! We hated to leave because we had such a fun experience there! It's so nice to see a family run restaurant that really values their customers. The prices were also surprisingly affordable considering the amount of food that you get! After a lot of years I finally decided to give this place a try. They were out of mild sauce & their enchilada sauce was too spicy. It took over 30 minutes to get 2 shrimp tacos (no sides) and a veggie burrito. By the time our food came I was full on chips and asked for a to go box. I expected more honestly, and I was very let down. We won't return. It was too spicy, the bathroom too dirty, and the food took too long. Lame. read more

It's Taco Tuesday! There's no better day to review Antonio's than today. Whenever I wander in to this cute corner spot I am instantly greeted by smiles. The place is well lit with an assortment of booths and tables to accommodate a party of any size. Even better - now that the weather is nice, there is outdoor seating too! This food is incredibly authentic, just like my Abuela used to make it, which means lots of gluten free options. They will even warm your corn tortillas on the grill to avoid any possible cross contamination. If you have food allergies or sensitivities, speak to the chef. She makes everything down to the salsas by hand and can tell you what to avoid. The food is reasonably priced and always delicious. Note: get the Al pastor. You won't regret it. read more

I haven't been to Antonio's for a few years and thought I'd stop in for lunch. We waited about 20 minutes and a server never came by to take our order so I ended up going up to the counter and asking to order. I think the server may have forgotten we were there but quickly came to our table after that to take our order. I ordered a wet shrimp burrito and it also took a while to come out but it was really good! The shrimp were succulent and tasted like they'd been grilled. It came with lettuce, cheese, beans, sour cream, and cilantro. I really enjoyed it! It was one of the better burritos I've had in Reno. FYI they charge $3 more for a wet burrito now and it doesn't include cheese on top so I'd recommend just asking for salsa on the side! If you're not in a rush, I'd definitely recommend checking Antonio's out! read more

The food was really good. I had chicken enchiladas, rice, and whole beans. My husband had the ceviche, my grandchildren had the bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans, my daughter had veggie tacos. All was really good. Since we first discovered this restaurant 4 years ago on a visit UNR, we can't go anywhere else for Mexican food! I'm sure there are other great restaurants, but we know we can't go wrong here. Again last night's meal was fantastic. The Rajas Taco Salad was excellent, fresh and light and filled with grilled veggies. Also we are currently on a quest to find the best Michelada and this huge one was soooo good, made me wish I lived here! The ambiance is amazing! Wonderful decorations & art to ponder as you eat. Plus, even though it is snowing, they have left on a fire heater outside! I opted to sit where I can see the fire. Very nice feeling to see the fire & at brought me so much joy! The service here is wonderful. The waitress is very attentive, gives great recommendations & is very kind. The food- oh my goodness! I chose to get the carne asada fries. So much more food than expected which means plenty of delicious leftovers. It even came with beans in the carne asada fries which was a plus. I don't have much money at the time so this was it was so heart warming when I asked her which would be more food and she told me I would have leftovers most likely. I do! I can feed myself for tomorrow and maybe even the next day. I cannot drive at the moment so this is the neighborhood spot for me from now on! Guacamole and salsa seem to be made with love as well. Very tasty and full of ingredients instead of generic tasting. Chips were also very good. 10/10 , would recommend! read more

Went here for some tacos tonight. The staff is great. They are so nice and personable. The place is a little small but they have plenty of bar seating if you can't grab a table. I tried the 3 tacos for $9 special they had today. I got two shrimp tacos and a chicken taco. I think I really liked the shrimp more than the chicken.
