we converted a medium sized front shrubbery area and tie it with existing concrete walkway to enlarge a front seating and bistro area. Ant came out to look and provide a quote, When we agreed on the quote he began the preparation and scheduled the concrete. the next morning he met the concrete truck and went into his go mode, watching him do his thing you can tell how committed he is to his trade, the pour went very smooth and his finishing skills are evident that he is very detail oriented. I would highly recommend his service. my project wasn't a large project that most contractors want, Ant treated with the same professionalism you would expect on a very large project. And as an added value Ant added a sealer to the project. I'm told most concrete finishers won't add sealant in colder weather. That is a trait you don't see much of in todays business world. First of all, Ant's work is FANTASTIC! I am a commercial general contractor. So, the concrete guys I use for work can't or won't do a residential project. I called Ant based on the recommendation of a friend who had work done at her house. Ant was responsive and arrived on time for our meeting. I did not tell him I was a commercial GC to see how he approached my project. I was impressed with his knowledge about concrete and the process of placing and finishing it. I needed my front steps rebuilt after 50 years of weather on them. Ant's had a 5-star rating here, so I felt good about contracting him. He was personable and responsive to my estimate request. The price was, well, not cheap, but similar to another I had gotten. Work started, and Ant told me he would make my steps wider and deeper, as that would be an improvement. I did not understand the width change, because it would be on the outside of the railing. Later, I realized that the larger steps were to reduce Ant's work of breaking out the old steps. I got him to leave the width as it was originally, which added 6 hours of jack-hammering to the labor. In the end, the steps were deeper, which forced me to move the railing, so it was not sitting on the edge of a step. The finish work looks good, but the overall job is a bit less than perfect. The landing pad was not square (I had Ant cut it when he removed the forms). Also, a couple of the steps have a noticeable slope at the ends. Working with Ant was easy. He accepted my requests for alteration of his plans with a smile. He worked some strange hours (into the middle of the night) to complete the job quickly. Overall, I was happy to work with Ant, but he is not an all 5-star cement contractor. read more

I'll try to keep this short. I'm a retired contractor. I prepped the small (4' x 24' abutting an existing slab) pour site (demo and rock). After reading the Yelp reviews, I called Anthony (Ant) on day 1. He showed up later on day one with his helper Steve, and worked til dark. He suggested a couple additional demo items I could do to make the pour better. Mid-afternoon on Day 2 he showed up to pour (with pump guy and short load truck). End of day 2 I have a beautiful slab. He loves what he does and is undaunted by complications. I am very pleased. read more

Excellent work! Anthony (Ant) is diligent, personable and very easy to work with. He fit me in quickly and finished several projects on the same day ( although I would have been ok with him coming back the following day because he worked into the night ). His eye for detail reflects highly on his craft-- he placed protective tape around the trim below our sliding door before installing a concrete step; his conscientious nature produces quality work. Ant listens to your concerns and is a helpful problem solver. He completed several concrete projects, including the installation of a much needed concrete slab at our front gate ( which sits on a sloping incline). This was needed to address pooling mud and water around the gate during the rainy season. Anthony's careful touch resulted in a beautiful smooth finish. His craftsmanship is impeccable. One thing to note-- referring to a previous comment complaining about "sloping" steps, I would guess that the reviewer's steps were installed on a slope/incline, like my project. When installing steps on an incline, you can't have straight rigid 90 degree angle steps--, otherwise you will have to take high steps and most likely trip over them! Take a look at concrete steps at hotels/venues that are situated on a hill--- you will see adjustments to accommodate the distortion of visual perception. So yes, your steps will look "sloped" when installing steps on an incline, and Ant knows his stuff. If he made it "straight', you would be tripping/stubbing your toe (ouch) over it. Ant's the man... he not only did an amazing job, but he finished on time and on budget! Actually, he came in a bit under budget... since he took the dirt from the retaining wall construction and used it to level off my front yard, for free! Check out the craftsmanship and the lines on the fire-pit patio, it's like a work of art! And sine he's basically a one-man show, his bids are lower and the quality is better... he isn't just checking in occasionally while paying someone else to do the work (like most general contractors).
