    DEATH TRAP! Honda settled lawsuit for engine burning oil problem: car has been in 2 accidents PLEASE DON'T BUY IT and be in THIRD!

    They have a car on the lot: 2006 HONDA ACCORD EX that is a DEATH TRAP! I returned it because it burned oil and was dangerous! There was a lawsuit settled by Honda due to this problem. They put it back on the lot next day! I am posting this review as Pt 1 as many people have urged me to warn the public about this specific car I bought and returned. Pt 2 will be a detailed account about my car buying experience. I bought this car 11/21, I left the dealership at night. My friend helped me pay for the car and SPECIFICALLY asked the saleslady if the oil had been changed recently and if it had oil now and all fluids had been topped off, she said "Yes" When I got home, I noticed the expired tags (MAY) & decided to check under the hood. The dipstick showed the car was BONE DRY! That is NOT a condition that happens overnight. Alarmed, I filled it with 4 qts as per manual. The next day, it was again dry within hours of driving less than 10 miles, no leaks(2+ qts) day after, by the 4th day it started smoking and by end of day, stalled COMPLETELY! Car had to be towed to dealership. Upon research I found that Honda settled a lawsuit because 2003-2013 models had this problem. Owner tried to imply it didn't and even tried to say that there was 4 QUARTS OVER! NO! My friend told me she would have the charges reversed(she lent me most of the money for it). I demanded a refund. In the meantime, to my shock, the owner put it back on the lot next day! I have been in a hurry to get a car cuz I work doing deliveries so didn't see that till yesterday and told friends who have insisted I warn people now and not wait for a complete review. This dealership is guilty of every sleazy, cheating, dirty trick used car dealerships are known for. That will be Pt 2 of my review. In the meantime: as I informed the owner and staff: selling a car without making sure it is safe to drive(NOT ENOUGH OIL FOR MY 31 MILE TRIP HOME), on the highway at night is CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE! WHAT KIND OF DEALERSHIP DOES THAT?     Experience was okay and vehicles seemed a little rundown down. I didn't buy afterall but service seemed okay.

I verified that I had the latest version of the app and then called technical support to see if I was doing something wrong or if there had been some change to my account. I was stunned to find out that this was a known problem with Android phones and that it would be fixed "before the end of the month" when a new release was rolled out. Seriously SDCCU? You deployed a version of your app that doesn't work with half the phones in America? How could this possibly happen? Especially with such a basic feature as mobile deposit? And then to just let it sit there until a new version comes out in a few weeks? Perhaps it is time for SDCCU to make some changes to how they develop, test, and deploy versions. There are many companies that have been doing this successfully for a long time. Those companies know how to test and, if needed, how to roll back upgrades when they fail.

I was lucky enough to work directly with the owner himself, as he is a stand-up guy and real family man. He genuinely wants his customers to be happy and it shows as he has been in business for over a decade. I have recommended this business to many friends, coworkers, and family members already and will continue to do so. My best advice: Check out their inventory online. Make an appointment before going in! There are 2 locations on coast highway, so make sure you know which one to go to. Always get your car of interest looked at by your mechanic before purchasing, because cars are sold as-is. The AC ran pretty weak the whole time I had the car. Then two weeks later after renting this car, they send me a toll charge that happened a WEEK before I had even rented this car! So, they tried passing this charge on me knowing when the incident happened (read invoice). They must of thought I would just pay the small toll fee and all is well. So, if you're renting a Turo vehicle through them beware of charges they may pass on to you later on? Turo as a whole is a great service & I will continue to use Turo. It's the company that partner up with Turo that's in question.
