My girlfriend and I went into Anytime Fitness BF on Monday, looking to do the 7 day trial, and inquire about the cost of joining, since Anytime Fitness doesn't provide this information on their website. They essentially force you to have to go in to the gym, and then they sit you down, and provide with a reduced administration fee offer if you sign up right there for a membership, even if you only want to try the gym. Seeing as I was with my girlfriend, it made it quite challenging to discuss with her whether or not we liked the gym. They assured us that we could cancel within the first 7-day "cooling-off" period, and that we would receive a full refund. After having seen another gym that we wanted to train at instead, we went in to cancel our membership, finding out that we wouldn't receive a refund for the $80 tag-thing that gives us access overnight, since it is registered to our specific names. This was not communicated well with us when we agreed to sign up, and instead we were assured there would be no problems. So now, collectively, my girlfriend and I lost $160 for some useless key tags that have no value, just because the consequences of cancelling within the cooling-off period was not well explained just so they could get some sales. By the way, we didn't like the gym because it is too small, there are 3 unisex toilets (no separate change rooms), no area to stretch, and the price isn't much cheaper than that of a comparable gym franchise which is of a way higher quality. read more
