Think twice before joining Anytime Fitness. They overcharge you, and when you complain about it, they tack on a late fee. When I first came to them, told them my current gym is $50 month. Problem was it was always busy that's why I was looking for another gym. Anytime told me their rate was $60 a month. I figured just $10 more than what I was paying and less crowded. Ends up they charge your credit card every 2 weeks instead of once a month. That comes out to being charged 26 times per year instead of 24, so you're actually pay for 13 months, but in only 12 months. So my $60 a month turned into $76 per month.... Also a $35 fee charged every six months for I don't know what? No amenities...they turned off internet so cannot watch News or TV will sitting on a bike. Regularly run out of paper or rags to wipe off machines, etc.. Place just wants your $$$ & no complaints! read more

Do not go here! I loved this club under its previous owners the Buttsworth family. Unfortunately, the new owners, who apparently own over 200 clubs do not operate in good faith. There is simply no way to cancel your membership, despite telling the Club Manager, Giving a written notice, Mailing a certified letter, they continue to bill you. We put a stop payment at the bank which stopped the drafts, only to receive threatening letters. The changes in the club beyond the billing were quickly obvious. The great staff the once had left en mass. The cable and internet connections now never work. The general cleanliness was completely deteriorated. So sad that a club with such an outstanding reputation has been destroyed in suck quick time! read more

I tried canceling my membership because I am military and went overseas and tried to contact them several ways for what was supposed to be a month to month you can cancel at anytime and now I just saw on Credit Karma my score dropped 35 points because they sent me to collections however there is no way to get a hold of me so how would I have known. I sent emails , phone calls, etc... all over a few hundred dollars my credit is now ruined for 7 years . I will be contacting a lawyer this is horrible. read more

Since the new management and the beautiful Cassidy taking over things have made A 100% turnaround from getting repairs done in a reasonable amount of time and the cleanliness of the whole facility... from vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, dusting N wiping you can see a major difference... so in my view I see this AF going in A great direction...shoutout 2 Cassidy for doing a great job in her short time here... This gym is atrocious. Customer service, both in person and over the phone, is horrendous. I had multiple payments taken out of my account a handful of times. I've complained about it, and nothing was getting done. I tried to cancel my membership multiple times, but they just kept delaying it and kept charging me. This place is a scam. Chris was the main person "helping" me, but it was no help at all. He is totally incompetent. Chris and this gym should be investigate for fraud. read more

After signing my daughter up for a month to month membership. Anytime fitness has been less than helpful. Let's break it down with pros and cons ( just the facts ) Pro's + parking during day. + hours of operation. + cost + equipment availability due to small crowds Con's - customer service ( have 7 documented meeting time and 7 NO shows by staff ) - attempting to cancel a month to month membership is an uphill battle ( Here's a word for word text from a customer service representative, "The only way to cancel is through a medical note, moving, military orders with proof of relocation ( bill or new drivers license )." - See pic. Anytime fitness representative came out 15min after our scheduled appointment to cancel my daughter's service ( smoking ). As I approached they went inside and did not answer the door. Bottom line: The worst customer service I have ever experienced. ( I am not one to leave bad reviews and always try to find the silver lining - refer to my yelp profile ) Pro, I am glad some individuals have joined and are working towards personal fitness goals. I was a long-term member who quit when the new corporate owners took over about two years ago. It was a terrible transition. They showed no aloha to their customers and employees. Many customers were upset at the new owners' management. After exercising on my own, I decided to check it out again. I made an appointment and had a long list of questions. Amanda, who has always been wonderful, is still there, and the new site manager was pleasant and helpful when I met with him. It's good to be back. The manager and area manager genuinely care and reach out for feedback. I have noticed that they are actively replacing worn seats on the equipment and it has a friendly vibe. I love that I can go there anytime and it is never overly packed. People are respectful and not intimidating. I feel safe going there. read more

(888) 827-9262, One staff said "you've been on time with your payments, so of course you can cancel it." Please call the Kailua location (808) 373-6746 and give them this claim # to cancel your membership." Why is this process so difficult to complete? Then I call Kailua location & spoke to Kahekili & he's states "l have to get a doctor's note or proof that I moved residence?! He also said "I don't what your claim # is about?!" Beware, this gym is a cesspool. I stuck with them because I greatly benefited from the original crew lead by Shy. After several years of wonderful service and cleanliness, the gym deteriorated, like a persistent case of foot fungus. The original crew quit, and the new manager informed me of a corporate take-over. The AC stopped working and the internal temperature reached 98 degrees. When I asked for a refund during the months when the gym was unusable, they refused. I asked to stop my membership, but they still charged me. It's disgusting and unethical. read more

I agree with the other recent reviews. I cancelled my membership in person with Shi, the gym manager, back in January 2023. I am past my 12-month contract and can cancel at any time. I was still being billed as of March and I was told by the new gym manager that the gym had been sold and they have no records of cancellations completed prior to their purchase so I was out of luck. I understand the gym sold in October 2022 so I cancelled during the time the new owners owned it, but it doesn't matter who owned the gym...I cancelled. I demanded written communication that my membership was cancelled. After multiple contacts, I was forwarded an email where the new manager sent a notice to their corporate office that I said I cancelled my membership. It did not include any plans for resolution etc. and they STILL don't acknowledge that I've cancelled even after multiple "attempts" to cancel. I put a stop pay on my credit card to refuse further charges and disputed the unauthorized charges because the new manager said they would not refund them. I received a notice from a collections company this week. I will respond to collections, but it seems since they refuse to acknowledge cancellation EVER, my next step will be through the court system. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. read more

Great gym. I signed up for their June 2021 six week challenge and am liking the experience very much so far! Only 2 sessions and have a good sore that I am familiar with, albeit seems like FOREVER AGO, I'm in my late 50's. A very good thing. No bad hurt just normal workout soreness. Small group classes (4 people max), very close to personal training. Theres also larger groups (6-8) people classes that I start next week. I've only done two of the small groups so far but I feel taken care of. At first I was thinking, dang these people are young, no experience. Wrong. They know their business. Gianna acquainted me with the machines. She's very knowledgeable, personable AND friendly, (kind of a hoot actually) and gave me all kinds of tips for my personal current abilities. This place is CLEAN, the machines are current and top notch. Back to the small classes...Even thou you are with a group, it's at your own pace. They watch you closely and help you correct your form. A BIG DEAL FOR ME. Totally recommend this gym. Friendly knowledgeable trainers, great equipment, solid small group classes, and it's clean. I was wondering wth happened to this place. Now I know from these reviews it was sold. I thought it was in the PROCESS of being sold, hence the empty shelves, no trainers, empty boards. The place looks like it's dying. Worse news is its ALREADY been sold, and this is just the way new owner operates. So sad. This place had an energy and real motivating community, all gone. This is absolutely the best gym I've ever been to! I started off with their 21 day program and loved it! The personal trainers motivated me to come back every day. Chris and Amanda are amazing! Their positive vibes makes it so comfortable to work out - feels like home. They push you just enough to sweat and really get a good work out. After the 21 days, I shopped around other gyms in the area but no one compared to AF. With that said, I decided to join AF and I look forward to making this my forever home/gym! Gym has quality equipment in great condition, great trainers and lots of friendly members. Primary drawbacks I could see for some people is that it's a little more expensive than some gyms, and it may not have as many openly available classes (yoga, zumba, etc) as people might like. The classes that are offered are at least timed pretty reasonably with when people are likely to be free, and at least the yoga teachers are wonderful (haven't tried zumba yet, I'd kinda like to...). Overall very happy with the quality of the gym, and the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. I've found I actually prefer having the smaller gym, as it feels less overwhelming and more welcoming to go to, and easier for me to get to know people there. read more

This gym is not worth paying $62 a month. There are other gyms charging less and better quality equipment and many options to choose from as far as machines go. Also I'm currently stuck in a two year contract that I can't cancel whatsoever! Due to the only way one can cancel their membership is if they move at least 15 miles away from anytime fitness. Which there are 4 on this island. And or a medical condition which a doctors note is needed. Which I feel is BS! One should be able to cancel their membership if they feel like doing so. Do not get a membership here unless you plan on having it for the rest of your life. I have been trying to reach someone to cancel mine for 2 months now. I moved and don't have access to another location. I finally had a friend go into the gym and tell the person working to call me. Shi, one of the managers, finally texted me, I responded immediately and sent her what she needed and she never responded. That was over a week ago. They are straight up ignoring me. I've emailed, called but their voicemail is full, texted every day, reached out on Facebook and Instagram. Nothing. At this point my only option seems to be to cancel my bank account so I'm not getting charged $65/mo for a membership I haven't used since December. I've never experienced such horrible customer service. So unless you plan on working out here for the rest of your life do not sign up! Everytime I go to workout, I hope it will be the day that I can say everyone wears their mask properly but have yet to see it It's pretty much a given, if you run on the treadmill; mask below your nose. If you do elliptical; mask below your nose. I would say at anytime, 20-30% of the people don't adhere to the mask policy. Have seen people run on the treadmill and grab their stuff and leave without wiping down equipment. I have only seen staff clean around 6 pm. Trainers don't seem to care that members don't wear masks and although I was told by the manager that they watch the videos to check, I know that its not true. If it were, the same people wouldn't be wearing their mask below their nose everyday. I used to go workout at 4 am but after the 2nd shutdown, the parking lot at that time is seedy. Guys in hoodies pulled over their heads and facemasks hanging 20 ft from the front door. Not the safest for the ladies. The equipment is ok. No bench press bench. You either have to hope that one of the 2 squat racks aren't being used or that the Smith machine is free. Also a tight workout space. Would be nice if they could get the space to the left of the entrance. This place would have garnered another star if they enforced the mask rule and had a little more space. read more

Members are required to wear masks and use the spray bottles to sanitize machines before and after use. HOWEVER, staff stays in the office and does the bare minimum with cleaning. Weak threats by management saying they'll kick members out who don't wear their mask or shoes so you see guys (with their crusty feet on machines or by the free weights working out), yet the staff walks past members not following rules. Management and staff need to do better. Either hold members accountable and do your job, or get better management and staff. read more

Gym with modern equipment, both machines and free weights as well as the extra ordinary stuff like battle ropes and kettle bells. Week pass only 25 dollars. Only downside we've noticed: while squatting and benching is possible, the spaces between different height settings in the power rack are pretty big, so you have to be lucky. Also the multi purpose benches are pretty narrow making them not a good choice for flat barbell benching. read more

Beware of cancelation fees. Was told I would not be charged for having to move. Apparently needed to send in a 30 day notice and still getting charged for the next month. I guess this is somewhere in the paperwork so is my fault but would have appreciated being told this so I could fill out that form. Facilities are fine. Looks really like not much but if you walk in it's very nice and the staff is nice as well. The place is really clean compared to a lot of gyms not over flowing with people and also give you good options to join their training sessions. Open all the time and the bathrooms are very clean. Absolutely love this gym! The hours work with my busy schedule (it's open 24 hours)! The staff is all very friendly and the trainers are great. They offer group training and personal training at this location. There is a small studio in the back if you would prefer the privacy and flexibility to do your own thing. You will find wall to wall machines and equipment to target every muscle. This gym also has showers which really makes working out before work convenient. I have yet to see this gym super packed like other gym locations on the island and everyone here rotates on the equipment so you will always get a chance to target whatever you need to target for the day. I believe the office hours are from 11am to 7pm. If you need an extra push to get you started I recommend the group training so whom ever you are working out with will really help motivate and push you to the end of your workout. I've only trained with Brandon so far and he's very encouraging and will really motivate you to finish strong. He will also listen to your strengths and weakness and help you modify the workout if needed. I highly recommend checking this place out! They offer a week trial so you can check out what they have to offer. The gym is smaller then most other gyms on the island but it's very functional. They offer Zumba classes and Yoga classes as well on certain days of the week. They also sell pre workout and protein powder and cool merchandise. read more
