So obviousyl compared to the City of Ottawa gym in Vanier, this big fancy GoodLife was like gym heaven! It has been 8 months since then, so my opinions have evened out a bit, and I am not ready to write this GoodLife the review it deserves! First of all, this location is big. It is in a new-ish plaza on Tenth Line, and has lots of parking. The other stores in the plaza are a Christian thrift store, a dollar store, and a computer store. There's a big open industrial feel inside, which I prefer to the claustrophobic feeling of some other locations. There is lots of cardio equipment, including a long row of treadmills, ellipticals, steppers, stair mills, and four Concept-2 rowers. There are 3 squat racks, a smith rack, some Nautilus circuit machines, 3 cable setups, two bench press benches, two leg presses... there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment. This location has child minding at designated hours. There is a workout classroom with yoga/zumba/body pump/ all those types of classes, and a spin room. There's actually a pretty good selection of classes. Not normally my jam, but I see why others would like that. This location has towel service (not all locations do -- a tough thing to learn the hard way!) The people working at the Tenth Line location are pretty awesome. Always nice and friendly. This place is super busy on Friday and Saturday nights. More often than not the gym bros are pretty polite here. One out of every ten is a jerk, so just keep your guard up. I go in the mornings before work, and I find that it's not too busy. I like it! I pay $100/month for me any my husband's memberships, which allows us to go to any location in Canada, didn't require us to sign a contract, and includes towel service. I really enjoy going to this GoodLife.

Everyone is friendly, members encourage each other and, there is a true sense of belonging. The trainers modify the workout to fit your ability and check in, and if you don't like one of the rounds... no problem! It's over in 3 min. After 9 rounds you feel empowered and strong- physically and mentally. You really do. The hardest part is convincing yourself that you've got this... and you do. So happy I joined.

Because of that its hours are limited vs other locations which are 24hrs and bigger. It's a basic straight up gym, which is fine by me. Has a decent spectrum of machines, free weights, and cardio machines. The only thing that prevents the full 5 star is that the ventilation isn't that great. It's on an upper floor, with low ceilings, so it gets very very hot. But overall happy with the value for the low price point.

Honestly I'm a big fan of fit for less they don't charge a big price plus if you get the premium membership you can share your pass with a friend. I have never shared mine but if you are in a relationship maybe you can share it with your spouse. I usually get the block past simply because it gives me the opportunity to go to any location. I like to switch it up because if I stay at the same location for too long I feel like I'm always doing the same workouts. If you want to try a free workout. I believe they give free days to try it out every last Thursday of the month. I would get a membership again in a heartbeat if I didn't live so far now. They have a similar gym in Quebec that is named econofitness... I would love if I could use this pass for both. I also forgot to mention if you do get the black card you can get water bed massage or tanning beds unlimited. I think that's a pretty sweet deal. Your black purse is 10.99$ biweekly and your regular pass I believe is 4.99$ biweekly. Honestly you get great equipment for what you pay for. The machines are printing you and when some of them get broken and it usually doesn't take long before they get fixed.
