The process is easy and stress-free, the team members are always professional and pleasant, and my refund is maximized in ways I could never figure out how to do on my own. Poor experience every time and I have filed for years on and off- left and came back. Every year I end up chasing them down and trying to get answers and ALEX is nowhere to be found. It's always some basic people working there with zero customer service skills and lack of knowledge to resolve the ongoing issues and foreign accents that you can't understand. Every year I give them another chance to make it right and it's always a black hole of taxes being filed late, IRS sending me info that things are incomplete, no one having any responses or answers to questions, and don't expect to ever talk to ALEX who hides behind his incompetent employees. We amended past year taxes (2021) and one year later, I still have not received my return from that even after I paid THOUSANDS to file this return, THEN the IRS tells us (a year later) that the amendment was filed late (due to APA) and we missed the window. ALEX, YOU OWE ME A CALL AND MY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS REFUNDED. I am done now, for sure. Never going back. read more

I have used them several years. They provide a max refund and stand behind it but it is very expensive to file. I weighed the benefits and always went with them after a friend had a good experience. Portal is easy to use and in the past has been a relatively pain free/straight forward experience. However, the communication has gotten more challenging over the years. Follow up is poor and often on hold for 20+ minutes. Almost impossible to speak to a supervisor. Always talk to someone different. Some are helpful and friendly; others are abrupt, interrupting, and rude. They mailed my return this year and cited a winter storm that apparently caused 27 day delay in IRS getting my refund. Never told me about it. Filed an extension on my behalf. Never told me about it. I am starting to be suspicious of their company and likely will find another next year. read more

I do not recommend APA Financial Services as a result of how long it takes for them to file taxes (we are still waiting on our refund, 3 months after submitting all documents), the cost to file taxes with them ($1500), and their lack of transparency. My husband and I filed jointly with APA this year; I had a name change, we each had two jobs, and we lived in two different states, so our tax filing was more complicated than usual. My husband had used APA for years prior, when filing single, and trusted them. I am giving APA one star for three reasons: 1. How long has taken - we submitted all documents in mid-March, well before Tax Day. After following up 4 times, they finished doing our taxes and we had a call with an associate to review them mid-May. It has been 5 weeks, we don't have our refund, and the IRS says that our info doesn't match their records when I requested a refund status. 2. The cost is outrageous. They charged us $1500, citing the number of forms that we submitted (8) and that "they're getting us more money back than we get otherwise". They did give us a 15% discount after I requested a discount due to how long it was taking. 3. The lack of transparency. Not once have we interacted with the actual accountant who filed our taxes, we never received an itemized invoice to explain the high cost, and we have no evidence that our taxes were actually filed. I appreciate that our tax return is not straightforward, which is why we went to a tax preparer. That being said, the amount of time we have been waiting, coupled with the cost, is disappointing for a professional services firm like APA. read more

Ridiculous experience this place is a joke. I was referred to this place for an "Alex", who apparently owns the company, and never once was able to speak directly with him, and who is the ONLY one who prepares all the taxes behind the scenes (Even though the Bio claims something they offer being Direct Communication). I dealt only with secretaries who used long hold periods, all had different difficult to understand accents, and spoke very unclearly, who directed me to the online portal to upload all my information. Once complete, I was called by varying people all who had different roles. I wasn't even quoted until I spoke with the "right person" for that. I had complex tax questions, and never once was able to speak with the elusive "Alex". I was then told by one of his employees, that he ok'ed what is essentially a lie on my taxes to claim an dependent w/out using their SS# to lower my taxes, all while still never hearing it from "the expert Alex". Oh, yeah and they wanted to charge me an insane amount of money for this nonsense. A compete waste of my time, you can get better tax advice by googling your questions. read more

My experience with APA Financial has been extremely frustrating. For two years in a row, they waited until the very last day to file my return, which resulted in the IRS disallowing my claim. When I reached out for help, I was repeatedly told to "wait" for months at a time. What should have been resolved in about three months ended up dragging on for eleven. In the end, the only reason my issue was resolved was because I personally contacted the IRS to straighten it out. APA claimed they were sending correspondence to the IRS, but the IRS confirmed nothing was ever received. Their lack of timeliness, follow-through, and communication is unacceptable. A simple response often took weeks or even months, with vague emails telling me to keep waiting. Despite my poor experience, I made the mistake of using them again this year, and it has been déjà vu all over again. Their rates are extremely high, but their service is slow, unclear, and unreliable. I even asked for a discount since I had to spend so much of my own time doing the work they should have handled -- but my request was denied. The stress and inconvenience are simply not worth it. Ive been with them for years since I was unhappy with my previous preparer (HRBlock & TurboTax) I wanted a professional opinion and have been with them ever since. I do not have a simple tax return and they were very helpful in making sure I was properly processing my 1099's and all of my receipts. The new app makes things easier for me to upload all my papers.
