I purchased a house this spring, as part of the condition of sale the 2 outdated electrical panels needed replaced and gfci outlets put near water sources. Then during appraisal it was found the outside line coming in needed updated due to deterioration. My electrician quoted 4k, but the listing agent contracted Apex Pros instead. The work was done April 28 & May 4, my closing was May 6th. (I requested constantly the results of the city inspection for my records but didn't receive that until much later, but that's a separate issue). The permit for the work was supposedly in Apex's system on May 21, 2026 but the city didn't receive the submission until June 1. The inspection was on June 3, 2026. The panel work and outside line all failed on 7 points. They didn't label the panels, they didn't ground the electrical work, they didn't include an external emergency disconnection, they attached too small a wire to too large a breaker (10 amp to 40/50 breakers). I waited 1 week for someone to reach out to me to schedule remediation. After 1 week of no contact, I called several times to reach a supervisor about the issue. I reached out to customer service, customer advocate, requested a supervisor. Finally on 6/12 I was told by the customer advocate that management had determined they only "failed" the emergency disconnect. And scheduled someone to come out on 6/15. I made sure they had my contact information from all the reachouts I had made. 6/15 no call but the same technician who did the initial work came at 10:24am (8-1 timeframe) and only replaced the outside connection to include an emergency disconnect. Still no labeling of panels or correction of other fail points. Finished around 3:30pm and left. 6/16 - finally got a response to my request for a supervisor and scheduled for one on 6/17 6/17 - The Quality Control Manager came out and documented the work. Assured me the work would be fixed as my request is that the house be safe! Currently if I were to use the stove and washing machine at the same time I could trip a breaker. Originally the same technician was to come out on 6/22 with a supervisor but due to weather we had to reschedule to 6/23. 6/23 - no call to me they showed up at 12:45pm (8-1 window) They again changed the external line. During their time here, the technician was verbally down playing what needed done, "Oh just change this and some minor things. I don't know why we need to do this" Questioning the reasoning behind the quality control manager's requests. I gave him the QM's phone number so he could call and get clarification. They finished/left around 4:45pm, but had not completed the grounding work. He did finally label most of the panels (but not all the connections) and he never did locate which breaker my kitchen ceiling fan was on. I did not receive a list of things they were to do to my property. I was hoping to receive one and even reached out requesting one, so I could ensure the technician did everything. They were scheduled to return on 6/26 to complete the grounding of my electrical system. I received an email this morning(6/26) at 7:51 am stating that they had reached out to the seller for payment for the additional work they needed to do to remediate the failed work they had done, but that they couldn't reach her. So they were pulling the permit and ceasing the work. In essence refusing to move forward with the remaining action items which included grounding the electrical. So they want to charge extra to complete the work they initially did that failed the city inspection and left me with an unsafe house. I will NEVER recommend this company for work. And in total, they're charging the seller twice what my electrican quoted for the same work, and he would have done it correctly the first time. read more

Had to confirm the appointment 3 times...they wanted to absolutely make sure I would be here for the appointment THEY MADE. At 11:30 had heard nothing...called to find out status, only to be told that the guy who was supposed to do the job DIDN'T SHOW UP TODAY! No call...no nothing. DO NOT HIRE APEX PROS. I had them out to change a SILLCOCK. Did not know until they left. I was charged over 800 dollars and it took them 20 minutes. When I said it seemed high, they said the job is extensive. When I called the office, I was told the charge would be over 800 dollars weather the job took 5 minutes or 5 hours. I'm sharing this experience to warn others about serious concerns with workmanship and follow-up from Apex Electrical and Plumbing. I went under contract on a 1970-built home with aluminum wiring. Prior to closing, the seller hired Apex to "replace all standard circuit breakers and re-device the entire home (up to 75 devices)." This scope implies opening outlets and switches and properly pig-tailing aluminum wiring to copper using approved AL/CU connectors. The seller paid Apex $8,302.05, and the work was fully invoiced as completed. During my official home inspection with a licensed third-party inspector, multiple outlets and switches were opened and it was discovered that several had either not been re-worked at all or were connected using connectors not rated for aluminum-to-copper connections. This raised immediate safety and code concerns. The seller and listing agent contacted Apex, who reportedly returned on 9/8/2025 to correct the issues and acknowledged responsibility. In November 2025, after I owned the home, a licensed electrician from Safeway Electrical performed unrelated work and checked several of the same outlets and switches. He found the same deficiencies still present, including improper connectors and incomplete aluminum remediation. I contacted Apex multiple times and ultimately spoke with a manager, Jasmine, who stated that Apex would take no action because the warranty did not transfer to a new homeowner. What was most concerning was that Apex did not ask for photos, technician details, inspection findings, or any documentation regarding the safety issues. Electrical work involving aluminum wiring is safety-critical. Based on my experience, the work did not match what was invoiced, and the response afterward was dismissive. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering Apex request detailed documentation, verify all work independently, and proceed with caution. read more

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY! I previously left a review about my experience with Apex Pros after they misdiagnosed a job, failed to complete it, and still demanded full payment. Since then, the company has continued to contact me, including making threatening calls claiming they will "send me to collections" and even "put a lien on my home". For clarity- they did not complete the work, and I had to hire another company to finish the job properly. Despite that, Apex Pros is still harassing me for payment on an unfinished and misdiagnosed project. Consumers should be aware of these aggressive and intimidating practices before hiring this company. I've documented all communications, and I am filing a formal complaint with the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board and my credit card provider to dispute the deposit. I reached out to Apex as I had a wiring issue in my garage. Chris came out and was able to isolate the problem, restoring electric to my garage, but suggested a splitting of the double circuit that existed and had caused the issue. I agreed and the project was scheduled. I was told that the workers would be at my home to start work at 9:00AM, it was after 10:00AM that they arrived. Work began and I was advised in the afternoon that they had to go to Home Depot as they didn't have enough Elbows, which wasn't any problem, but when they got the item, then they didn't have enough wire to complete the work and would have to come back the next day. The next day when I expected them to arrive, I received a voicemail that one of the electricians had had a family emergency and they would be out at all on that Thursday.....the work that was being performed had to do with our septic/sewer system, and since the work wasn't completed, there was no service to the system, creating a potential for backup. This was explained to Jesse in the office and I was assured that workers would be back the next day, Friday, between 8:30AM and 9:00AM....they showed up at 10:03AM on that Friday. The work was finally completed late Friday afternoon and service was restored, but the workers didn't have any paperwork that needed to be signed showing the job was completed and the owner was satisfied. That evening, about 5:15PM I received a voicemail requesting the balance be paid. I had again spoken to Chris, the original person who had come out and he was going to speak with his manager about what all had happened and making it right, so I wasn't going to authorize any payment until I'd heard back from Chris. The following Monday, I received an email, with an attached invoice, which showed a charge to my credit card of over $3000.00...which was never authorized. I contacted Chris and he wasn't aware of any charge being processed and he'd look into it. Within 30 minutes, I received another invoice, showing a payment of $2800 and a $250.00 credit for the problems I had encountered....The problem though is that my credit card was not credited for the wrongfully charged $3000, so I now had 2 unauthorized charges on my account. I brought this to the attention of Amy in the Apex Accounting Dept. and for some reason, they had no record of the $3000+ charge that was appearing on my charge card...also, sine they had manually entered the payment, they couldn't issue a credit to my account... They said a check would be overnighted to me on Tues, 11-25-25 and I should have it Wed, 11-26-25.... It is now 11:30AM on 11-28-25,...I've spoken with Amy twice today and now an Advocate named Jasmine...and I still have not gotten the $3000+ check as I learned it was never sent out on the 25th. The 2 unauthorized charges have caused me credit limit problems with my credit card account, and no one at Apex Pros seems concerned as to helping me out.....OF THE SITUATION THAT THEY HAVE CREATED. I've read a few of the other reviews on here and it doesn't appear that Apex Pros is a very professional place to do business with. This company is the worst of the worst, I will never use them again. They came out to remove a bird from my furnace that had been replaced less than 5 years ago. They tried to up-sell me on everything. If you decline, they ensure to let you know you may be making a big mistake, causing anxiety if you continue to decline it. The whole project to remove the bird and do additional work on my less than 5 year old furnace was nearly 2,000. I just needed someone to unscrew the PVC and pull the bird out. It ended up costing almost $700 because I accepted some of their suggestions. Fast forward a few months, and rust was found inside the casing of the furnace. I had another company come out and they showed me that part of that rust was from them not reconnecting the PVC pipe. They reconnected it for me and gave me a bill for their time. I contacted Apex to let them know, and they offered me $200 which really only paid for the other company to reconnect my intake PVC, but I still have additional rust in my casing from them. Do not use them, do not fall for their up-sell techniques. I'm sure they'll reply that they are so sorry, but they will keep doing it, I'm sorry I ever used them and hope to save someone else out there. They don't seem to really be pro's that know, they seem to be the pro's that try to rip you off. read more

He also helped me get a sizeable discount on the work which made it affordable. I requested an estimate in the early afternoon and within 3 hours he not only came out to do the estimate but had the job done. It was a little pricey but for the speed and quality of the work done it was worth it. read more

One of my tenants informed me that she had "blown a fuse" and could not corrrect the problem. Rather than get bids, I contacted Apex, assuming they would offer competitive rates. They sent out a tech. who did an assessment and offered me several options. The lowest cost being $1800. I was told that would remedy the problem. I approved the job, without doing any further research. Much to my regret, I found shortly thereafter that independent electricians would have charged around $300. When questioned about this and a refund request, Apex said that refunds were not possible. I have filed with the Attorney General's office and will continue to seek a refund. As someone who has worked in property management for years, I've dealt with many electricians and service providers -- so I know what fair pricing and professional conduct look like. I decided to try this company to see if they were any good, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. They charged 4-6 times the industry average for very basic electrical work. When I called to question the charges, they refused to provide the name of a manager or supervisor for follow-up. Instead, I was told the call was being recorded and was met with a defensive and unprofessional tone. In particular, Chyenne, the so-called "customer advocate," was deeply rude and dismissive, making no effort to address my concerns. Zero interest in escalating the situation or resolving it. There was zero transparency or accountability, which is a major red flag in this industry. But when we left town for a few days and left the air conditioning on for our cat, we came back to a nightmare. The heat was running at full blast and the house was well over 100°F. It was dangerously hot--this could have killed our cat. This wasn't a small mistake. It was a serious failure, either in how the system was installed or configured. There was no warning, no alert--just a sealed-up house baking in extreme heat. If you care about the safety of your pets or children, I strongly recommend you do not use Apex for heating and cooling. When I called to report it, they acted like I was an inconvenience. I was told "someone might call back," and that was it. No urgency, no concern, no accountability. We trusted Apex with our home's climate system. What we got was negligence and complete disregard for the potential consequences. After hours of having to actually berate them, they finally sent a technician out to fix it and confirm the issue was incorrect setup by their technician in December. read more

Had a "full service", so everything from the breaker box, up to (but not including) the service wire Pros: - Only company that could get me in for a job on short-ish notice (about three days). - Technicians friendly, friendly to my pets as well - One technician had over a decade of experience, one had five years or so, and they seemed pretty knowledgeable - Upgraded my service to a new amperage, and added surge for the house (wasn't in original plan). - On-time Cons: - Price was incredibly high. No mention was made if it was because of how many calls they were getting because of bad weather, and it didn't show up in the paperwork. After the fact, I've had estimates from other contractors about very similar jobs, and in their worst estimate, I paid 2x that. - Was told they'd schedule someone from the city of Columbus to come out, and they did not do that - Unnecessary cuts were made to the vinyl siding I was left to deal with, as well as left over untrimmed wire. At another price, I could could easily understand needing to deal with this. All-in-all, I'd only go with them again only if I had to (again). I had them do an eyeball estimate for running a new, 75 ft line of romex in my basement, and they quoted just over a thousand dollars. read more

Apex pros came out to fix a water line in 2021. In the process, they cut my drain line. I had them come out to investigate in 2022 due to water seeping in the basement and having g noted the drain line was cut when they repaired the water line. They assured me that the problem was the connection from the downspout to the drain. They did not check the underground drain they had cut. Last month while having my gutters cleaned, a different company noted that the same downspout wasn't draining. They tried to snake it and were unable to. They excavated and found that the drain line had in fact been cut in 2021 and was not fixed! I had this company fix it as there was a hole in my yard and water pooling in the area. I simply asked Apex to refund me the amount for the drain line repair. They have refused despite clear evidence of their fault. read more

The sales person controlled the plumbers scheduling and would not allow the final fixtures to be installed. This job was held hostage. My wife and I recently purchased a new home, and upon purchase of our new home our real estate agent gave us an itemized receipt showing that the previous owner had paid in full for a new well that was installed 5 months prior to our purchase of the property. Since Apex Pro's installed the well just a few months before we had purchased this property, we called them to come out because as we were now the owners of the well we wanted to confirm that the well and it's water were safe to use and drink. We had an Apex Pro service plumber come inspect the well and test the water, and we intended to be set up with a regular service plan. When the service plumber from Alex Pro's arrived and inspected the well he was astounded that Apex installed it just months prior, as the issues he found with the well were numerous. He listed all the problems, including missing parts, that in turn made the well and it's water a health risk for anyone drinking the water from it. This included that the filters, water conditioners and water softeners where taken back by Apex after they were paid for by and installed for the previous owner, as well as the incorrect installation of the well by Apex Pro's. Apex Pro's billed the previous owner of the property for $20k in parts and labor for well, but the well was never completed and vital parts to the well had been taken back by the company. These parts were never returned or replaced, even after the owner had paid in full for them as stated by an Apex Pro account assistant "Todd". "Todd" the Apex account assistant also went on to say that "the parts that Apex took back were damaged due to water" when questioned why the parts where missing in the well but shown they were paid for on the receipt. Todd also went on to inform me that the stated "Apex Pro's One Year warranty does not apply to this well". Even though the work and "missing parts" that Apex Pro's installed were all listed as covered in the said one year warranty and it's timeframe. - "Its only get worse" The previous owner of the property was recently widowed, her husband having passed away just a few months prior to her having the well installed, which she was doing in order to get the property ready to sell. The total was roughly $20k in cost to Apex Pro's to have the well working properly. She paid in full, but the well was never finished, and the parts she paid for were never returned by Apex. You tell me what happened here after reviewing the timeline and service receipts from Apex Pro's. Shame on you. I hope if you are considering using Apex Pro's that this warning helps you make your decision clearer. read more

I had a 50 gallon electric water heater replaced. It was a swap of the same model on warranty since the 3 year old tank was leaking. They came to take a "free" look, then left to go get a replacement tank after 30 minutes. They returned back, 1.5 hours later, claiming they had to go to two places to find the correct tank. The tanks were swapped in 30 minutes. I was charged $1,016.00! This was just for labor as the tank was a free warranty replacement! Apparently, I was unknowingly paying them hundreds of dollars per hour while they drove across town, to two places, to pick up the water heater. Based on my math, I was charged $406.40 per hour for this water heater to be picked up and then swapped. I was not given any specific breakdown of the cost. This pricing is absolutely astronomical and I will make sure everyone I know avoids this company going forward. I do NOT recommend Apex Plumbing Pros. read more

PLEASE READ: Run away from this company. My daughter had a clogged drain. They initially came out and stated that she needed to jet out the drain. They paid $578.00 to jet out the drain. After attempting to jet the drain, they said it failed and they needed to dig out the line. My daughter approved them doing the work they recommended. They charged her $8,121.00 to replace the drain. One of the reasons that she agreed to this is because they sold her on their one year warranty. It states , "Risk-Free Guarantee Service and new installations come with a one-year labor warranty." This happened in December. It's just now six months (three of which were during the winter) and the line is clogged again. My daughter was expecting them to honor the warranty. They did not. Instead they are saying it was something they didn't see before and now it's going to cost $8,914.00 MORE!. This is insane. This company will not not honor their warranty. Instead they will just find a way to wiggle out of it and try to charge you more. Don't take my word for it, look at the actual invoices and estimate below. Please spread the word. So the blowing motor and capacitor went out of our system. They ordered a new one and installed May 26th. We had issues and called and they called us back and said they would either get back to Monday if we could be worked in, if not it would be Thursday June 1st---Thursday comes and go no one shows up nothing until almost 8pm. The blowing motor which is new is now making the most God awful sound and I've called everyday since June 2nd with zero response from anyone. I've even tried using their electronic scheduling system with zero response. My electronic appt was for 10am this morning and I've yet to see or hear from anyone. I thought I needed to replace a bathroom faucet and had 2 other companies come out and give an estimate, Apex came out, took one look at the Moen faucet and said the first plumber broke the aerator by not using the correct tool, just call Moen and they'll send you a new aerator at no charge. He also looked at the drain stopper and said the previous plumber did not replace it cause you have a Moen faucet and a Delta drain stopper. He suggested I call the previous plumber and tell them you consider their job from 2019 incomplete and see what they say. HONEST PLUMBERS. THIS COMPANY HAS THEM. CALL APEX.
