Apoteket means "pharmacy" & this pharmacy happens to be a standalone. Some supermarkets may include a pharmacy & they're usually by the entrance.
I typically try to allocate space in my luggage for beauty products &/or sunscreen. Products in Scandinavia/Europe are more regulated even if it's the same brand that's marketed/sold in the U.S., as well as ingredients allowance with the most significant differences in sunscreen formulas. The U.S. FDA has not approved many of the advanced chemical sunscreen filters used in Europe, & regulation has not been updated in years... meaning Scandinavia/Europe sunscreen often contains more effective & advanced UV filters for higher UVA protection than its U.S. counterpart. Also, some active ingredients may be consistent across regions & other active compounds can vary due to regional regulations; some ingredients legal in the U.S. are banned or restricted in the EU, & vice versa. I generally buy a couple of products here whenever I can, & sometimes the prices are also cheaper than the U.S.
It was a hot, sunny Wednesday & I was the only customer; it felt great stepping into the cool pharmacy. While I was browsing for a good night cream, & looking for some facial products for my teen, a pharmacist/salesperson approached me & asked if I needed assistance. I had already picked up a jar of L300 Dry Skin Night Cream (offers intensive moisture & is fragrance free); its ingredients: urea, lactic acid, & ceramides, help restore the skin's natural barrier that helps skin improve dryness & smoothness.
She recommended a few products that's age-appropriate for H: ACO Sun Ultra Light Face Fluid & ACO Spotless Deep Cleansing. According to some quick research, the sunscreen is known for its light, matte finish & good makeup compatibility, which would be great since my teen isn't as hygienic as she should; the cleanser is ideal for those with oily or acne-prone skin, & is purportedly effective at reducing acne & clearing the skin due to the salicylic acid content.
At checkout, she graciously comped us with several Eucerin travel products: Sensitive Protect Kids Dry Touch Sun Gel-Cream 50 SPF, a couple tubes of Oil Control Sun Face Gel - Cream Ultra Light 50 SPF, pH5 Shower Oil, & Hyaluron Filler.
The night cream works really well, I wake up with dewy skin. I can't say the same for my daughter because she's not consistently using the cleanser or applying sunscreen without reminders from me, but her acne did seem to improve.
This Apoteket is smaller than some of the ones in the larger cities like Helsingborg or Ängelholm, but I found what I needed. I love this Apoteket for its quality products, & knowledgeable, friendly, & helpful customer service!! If you're ever in this part of town, I highly recommend shopping at this pharmacy! read more
