As a condition for releasing the snapshots to us, they compelled everyone in our group to open up our phones and write a favorable post on Yelp while they looked over our shoulders and confirmed we submitted our posts. Not cool! Even when some of us said our phones were inside the car way out in the parking lot, they said, "go get them if you all want your pictures!" We were extremely tired, hungry, and muddy and just wanted to leave, but had to trek to our cars to retrieve our phones to write damn Yelp reviews on the spot. When we started the trip, the owner said, "Don't worry about getting your cameras dirty. We will get pictures for you and give them to you afterwards. Then we finish the trip and they put a ransom on our pictures, knowing that we relied on their word. Extremely unethical and unprofessional. Speaking of muddy, MAKE SURE to bring your own rain ponchos (or even a trash bag with a hole cut out for your head) because ponchos will NOT be furnished by the owners unless you pay an overpriced premium for them: $10 each for the same paper thin poncho that you'd get at the drugstore for 99 cents! How disgraceful. We declined and spent 2 days cleaning all of the mud off our shoes and clothes.

Error messages kept popping up to verify our age and it kept us on pave roads for the entire time that we were trying to navigate the river route. At one point, it told us to turn down what turned out to be a person's driveway. The app then shut down. When we contacted the store, we had to call back multiple times and finally got a map texted to us. Unfortunately, we were in an area with no service so we could not download the map. We ended up backtracking the way we came and just turning the vehicle in. I hope other people don't experience what we did. When we communicated this to the manager, no effort was made to rectify the situation whatsoever. We were told we missed a turn. The question then is why did it not turn us around to get back in the route?! But honestly, we were glued to the phone making sure we were going the right way. We never exceeded 35 mph in order to stay focused on the directions. When you rent from them, it is not just the vehicle; it is the experience so all the parts of it need to work, including the app.

So allow me to explain how I was so excited to go to the HorsePower Park NC Jeep event. So excited…read morethat I had rented their Treefort and was going to get side by sides to run the trails. I did all this far in advance so that I could lock it a great event. So pumped to take kid. Then I heard that the event was canceled. It bummed me out. So I contacted Horse power park in advance to cancel the Treefort as it had said. They said in there contract that the money would be returned in 24 hours..... Great, but there was a problem with it being returned cause my original card was missing. I had to get another. I made them aware of this. Now it's 5 months and no return and they won't return calls or text messages. Is this right? I've been so patient but it's over. They asked for my address a month ago..... I was thinking they would mail me a check. Nope..... nothing and still no calls. I this day how would the rest of you feel about not getting your $220 returned? I bet they would want their money returned to them. I'm curious to why they would do business in this way.

I am giving this guided horseback ride a poor rating because of what happened during the ride and,…read morejust as importantly, how the situation was handled afterward. At the beginning of the ride, my horse got too close to my son's horse, and his horse tried to nip at mine. I made sure to stay back and mentioned to Brad that his horse seemed territorial. Brad agreed and said that the horse could be territorial. As the ride continued, Brad fell back, leaving me in front and my son behind me. We rode that way for approximately 20-30 minutes. Later, Brad moved back to the front and held onto my son's horse so I could get in front of my son, with my son following behind me. We rode in that formation for at least another 30-45 minutes without any problems. My son's horse was approximately 5-6 feet behind me, and I was riding on the opposite side of the trail. Then, without warning, my son's horse took off, charged toward me, and bit my leg. The bite tore my jeans all the way down to my ankle. Brad asked if I was okay, and I told him I was, but that it hurt very badly. My biggest concern is this: if you know a horse can be territorial and aggressive toward another horse, why would you put an inexperienced rider on that horse? I am extremely thankful that it was me who was bitten and not my son. What has upset me just as much as the incident itself is what happened afterward. Brad never called to check on me, never followed up to see how I was doing, and never offered any type of refund or compensation. I would have expected at the very least a phone call to check on my condition and acknowledge what happened. This incident ruined the rest of my vacation that week. The lack of concern afterward made the situation even worse. His actions after the incident are a major reason for my poor rating. It left me feeling that the money was more important than the safety and well-being of his customers. I hope this review helps other riders understand what happened so they can make an informed decision about whether this is the right horseback riding experience for them.
