Customer service had not been improved since I complained back in 2011. Staff were not energize and unwelcome. If you really need to go to an apple store. Try Yorkdale location. Details: - used apple store app to flag for help. They should be notified. 1st time they ignored my request after 3 minutes and they cancelled. I was standing in area the whole time and nobody called my name. 2nd try, they finally realized it was not a joke and located me. After they started talking to me, immediately he was interrupted by another customer and asked me to wait again. - asked for help on iPhone backup with iTunes. He obviously had no knowledge. He tried to locate help but unsuccessful. Instead of telling me he was not familiar he kept telling me what my unexpected experience with iTunes was impossible. He also added that it did not happen to himself and he had performed the similar operation hundred of times. I ended with him by saying I was not convinced. Then he said you would need to schedule a time with Genius and bring your Mac book air in because most likely your computer had issues. - Then I asked to locate a product to purchase. He passed me to another staff who seemed to be exhausted after a day of work. I asked about the price discrepancy with the one showed on my apple store app compare the one in store. She searched around on her idevice and at the end, she basically told me she did not know why but just told me "probably" they were different products. read more

I'm a closeted Apple fan. I love the ipod, I've owned the shuffle, nano and itouch, and I've enjoyed every one of them.. But I don't like the coolness factor of Apple, it's just too mainstream. It erks me especially those people who say they like MACS better than Windows PCs, not really understanding the technology or the advantages/disadvantages of both. That's my speech, now on to the good stuff.. This apple store looks like many others, lots of apple products to demo, in a simplistic format. They have lots of ipods and iphones. I've gone to other apple stores where the iphones are able to make phone calls. Not these ones, there is no phone service (I tried) - so don't count on making long distance calls! I visit the Apple store occasionally for service on a broken device, or to buy a new one. I bought the new iPhone 6 today because my iPhone 4 stopped working. It was a breeze to do and while you talk to the employee about what you want to buy, another employee comes out and hands you the device you wanted to purchase. I spent less than 10 mins, and I was out of the store with a new phone. Somehow, I was already told everything I would need to know in those 5 mins talking to the employee. The workers here are very nice, and are open to sharing information along with honest opinions. The guy I was talking you, said he bought himself an iPhone 6 Plus when it came out, but would have bought the smaller size because it was a bit too big for his liking. Overall, this is a typical Apple store, but it is pretty small compared to others. The employees are very helpful, and you definitely won't be disappointed. Horrible experience with Apple Repairs and the representatives at Eaton Center I dropped off my Macbook Pro for a repair that was supposed to take 10 days. Before parting with my mac I asked specifically: 1) Are those business days or calendar days? The response was that those are calendar days because the store does repairs on the weekends 2) Is there any other store around Toronto that could repair my laptop faster? The answer was no, because they are all equally busy One week later I decided to inquire the status of the repair. 1) Apparently they did not even start repairing the laptop 1) Apparently those are 10 calendar days now. I guess between now and a week ago they stopped working on the weekends. 2) Apparently there indeed was a different store where I could get a faster repair. However, since I already advanced in the queue, it does not make sense to send it anywhere else. 10 calendar days fall on the day I leave for an international conference to deliver a presentation. Not only has my work been on hold, but now the conference is about to be jeopardized? Sorry Apple, I did not get a $3000 laptop to go through this to have a small keyboard issue fixed. Went to this Apple store so my boyfriend could buy the new Mac Book Pro (which came to just under $4k after taxes). I guess we're not dressed well enough on our days off from work to have anyone serve us, middle aged people who came in after were swarmed but two people who look to be in their late 20's wearing American Apparel I guess are not the right look for someone trying to make their Metrics? After about 20 min we agressively asked an employee if they could help us buy the computer. He first sarcastically was like can you please come this way I can't hear you, instead of walking over to us standing by the computer he wanted to purchase. Then he told us sarcastically we couldn't buy that computer, and we said why? And he said they had new ones in the back. NO KIDDING!? We then asked for the new cable that hooked up a phone to the new drives in the new laptop and he was looking at my boyfriend like he didn't know what he was talking about. He went off to ask another employee (after telling us he couldn't leave where he was standing to help us when we first asked him to help us buy a $4,000 computer). He returned with the cable that my bf asked for that the apple employee thought didn't exist. He then went to process our payment, bf was going to use apple pay but apparently that only works for $100 purchases. The employee told him to try it anyway, it was declined flagging his account so when he went to use his credit card to pay for the computer it was declined. The employee then treated us like everyone in the store treated us when we were trying to buy the computer in the first place.... like we looked like we didn't have enough money to buy anything. My boyfriend had to call his bank who then said because he tried apple pay they flagged his account and declined the second payment. After it was cleared up the payment was processed and the computer was purchased. I have never in my life been treated so poorly at any retail establishment and made to feel so small as I did yesterday afternoon in the Apple Store in Fairview Mall. I suggest you train your employees properly to not make customers dropping 4k feel like crap. I have a mac book, ipad, iphone, apple tv and a desktop. My Iphone 8 Plus phone developed a problem. Callers could not hear me speaking on my phone. Off to the Apple store I go where I received a warm welcome and was advised to take a seat while the phone was tested and diagnosed. Ten minutes pass and the Apple worker returns with my phone with the news that the microphone is not working , and since the microphone is attached to the board it cannot be replaced, so the phone is not repairable. I was then offered a replacement phone for only $819 or I could trade in my broken phone for an " Apple giveback " value of $160 , leaving a balance of only $659 + taxes to pay for a replacement 8 Plus phone. I was disappointed and shocked at this news and left to think about it. On my way home I decided to get a second opinion and dropped in to an independent cell phone repair center near my home. I left there 40 minutes later , microphone replaced , and the phone working perfectly , for a total cost of $45. It is very sad that this is what Apple customers are up against. This store's service is a thousand times better than at the Markville store. I've been returning to the apple store numerous times because each time I got a repair, a new issue came up - the computer was scratched or dented, display was misaligned, etc. The store managers know what customer service is about & fixed almost all of the issues. The store is noisy and there's a lot of people waiting to get repairs, so that might make the employees hasty to get things over with but it's good that they'll follow through until customers are satisfied. read more

I just visited Fair view Mall Apple store for my iPhone6s and have very bed experience from Apple store customer service my phone battery charge up to 90% with full charge only and drain out very quickly so i took my phone this store explained to them but they send me home because my phone was not backup fully and on their WiFi is very slow then next day i visit and they said they have to ship my phone out for further diagnostics process then they provide their loaner phone for me to use i call them next day and ask them what is status of my phone repair they said they diagnose and did not find nothing after so many visit so i was frustrating about this location i also demand new phone but they said i don't have apple care warranty so they can not give new phone because i have only regular warranty not apple care warranty i am not recommend to this location read more

Apple consistently stuns/scares/surprises me. For example, when I was having trouble with my second generation iPod Touch's battery life, I called Apple. I fully expected the automated voice I had to deal with. What I didn't expect was how they zapped me an email about the problem as soon as I hung up. It kinda scared me, seeing as I only told them my name and not my email. I guess they had it on file or something?? Anyway, I quickly booked an appointment with the Genius Bar at this location about the battery problem, seeing as how it was the day before my warranty was to expire. Upon arrival, I had to wait around 10 minutes past my appointment--it was Sunday afternoon and an absolute madhouse--but before long a nice "Genius" showed up. Within another 15 minutes, I was strolling out of the store with a shiny new replacement iPod Touch. No questions asked. Now that's customer satisfaction. My next computer shall be a Mac. read more

Realizing that service was negligible I discovered the item I wanted to buy on display all by myself but then had to figure out where to pay for it. This was difficult. I tend to come to this Apple Store when I have issues. Mostly because I can get an appointment here faster than I can at the Apple Store at the Eaton Centre. Last time I was here, my home button on my phone stopped working...I had a super hassle free experience and they exchanged it without issue. I'm here today about my iPad. We shall see. I arrived about 15 minutes early and they were 20 minutes late. (To be honest, I didn't even know Fairview was open until 9 on Saturdays). I wish there was a way to give zero star rating. This store always has the worse customer service. Why does it take 45 mins to buy an item here? No matter what I do it takes so long to buy something in this store. Today, the rep even said to me "you look mad" I explained that I don't understand why it takes so long to buy an item. Not just that, but after 30 mins of waiting another rep told me I was not on the list to get the item. I had to again repeat what I wanted 3 more times before I could buy the item. When I explained why I was "mad" the cashier said "well there's many of you and less of us." I don't see how making that comment makes me feel like a valuable customer. Also that makes no sense in the store, when I see over twenty employees. As many tables there are, is at least one person to cash people out. People in grocery stores move faster than this. They should have people who only cash people out and others who stand and answer all the questions people have. How can the line flow if you don't have just cashiers? I know this is a review for the store but I've notice the comments so far are on the company in general so I want to add my two cents. Apple products get a lot of heat on their price. I personally think a good amount (not all) of their products are priced fairly. If you do your research and look at the hardware, add on the design (something people fail to realize how important aesthetics are) and the amazing operating system (which upgrades with a low price tag in comparison to MS and there is only one version with everything) then you have your reason for the price. I would give Apple 4 1/5 (if i could) because I don't like how closed they seems to be on some things (like their OS). It's hard to say if they do this because it goes with their philosophy, a business decision, or if their is some other reason but that's how I feel about it. Finally, like Lynda says below it's not about Apple vs PCs, go for what works for you and spread the money around because a monopoly from any company is never good for the consumer. Microsoft had a great operating system (XP) and they still have one of the best and widely used Office suites and Blackberry has one of the most intuitive phones as most people have told me. Choice is a beautiful thing and whatever decision you make should work best for you. read more

The most Racist place!!!!! I had trouble with my MacBook it's locked and minor problem with keyboard (1 letter stick and sometimes works sometimes not). Having a conversation over the phone we tried several ways to recover password and unlock but it didn't work so agent set up an appointment at Genius Bar so they could connect external keyboard and try to unlock it. I came there with my 2 kids (4,5 and 1,5 y/o) from different city (from Chateauguay to Point Claire... at 11 am as we supposed to., woman met us and after explaining the situation., she was about to take the laptop., so they can try to fix it., she sanitized it, explained me that it may take several days, I said I am okay with it, while she was sanitizing, my daughter was jumping and singing Hava-nagila (most well known Jewish song), then immediately this lady changing her mind and continue talking absolutely in different manner like I can do it at home, and if I want I can buy a new keyboard for 500+$ if not I can do it myself and I was feeling like she just wants us to go... I ask again ., and she refused to do anything. I felt discriminated, humiliated and absolutely lost . I thought companies like Apple have values ... so shameful. read more

Fairview Apple store used to be my favorite apple store in Toronto; however, the poor customer service has changed my mind about this place. Today, I wasted over 2 hours of my time for a simple battery replacement that did not end up happening even though my phone was still under warranty. The poor service I received from the employe, whom priority wasn't customer satisfaction, has resulted in my disappointment. The time that the employe spent arguing with me - which didn't result in anything - was absolutely ridiculous. Apple's well-known reputation for their amazing customer service isn't what this place offers. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of apple. 4 out of 5 visits I encountered very gloomy condescending employees. The sense is that many feel that if they are behind the "Genius Bar" they are superior. I saw a foreign customer waiting at the Genius bar and she didn't understand that Apple needs an appointment in order to receive service from the bar. The aggressive employee explained how "Apple works" in a very "you should know" attitude. Finally leaving a very upset customer or potential customer. If it's just a job and workers are constantly frustrated with customers for not understanding "The way" it portrays a very close minded individual/store/company. It spreads to other employees, leaving other employees feeling it's accepted. It doesn't hurt to be patient and take a second to care. read more

I bought iphone 5 from a bad guy that cost me $400.I made an appointment and went there on time, no problem. He checked my phone, it is in a very bad shape but I wont notice until he showed me there is liquid trapped inside, the phone battery is wet that cause the phone keep rebooting. He offered me to recycle my bad iphone by giving me a gift card cost $370, and I got a new iphone 5c by using the gift card n add $300. I am so thankful, because I wont stuck with the broken iphone. I went to Fairview to get an apple watch at the Apple store. I asked a rep if soleone could help me with looking at some watches. The rep said of course, someone will be with me shortly. DO NOT SHOP THERE. THESE STAFFS ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, & UNRELIABLE. The reason why I am saying this is because I am a huge apple fan, and a user. I have purchased both my macbook and ipad from this store. When I purchased my macbook in DEC of 2010, OSX tiger was available, however my system was running on just regular OSX, the staff never offered or mentioned upgrading my brand new macbook to OSX tiger. In addition to that, the staff sold me a macbook AIR laptop casing (unprofessional?) when I opened the packages at home I realized that the casing does not fit my laptop and had to drive back to Fairview for an exchange. A yr later when I thought my laptop was not turning on, I booked an appointment with a genius, I waited 1hr45min for a genius to come help me, when she came, we figured out that it was my charger that was not working within a minute, so I asked her then if she could take a look at my iphone, and she said to me "I do not have time for this, you need to book another appointment, I have other customers waiting, we are behind today." I thought that was rude because obviously I know they are behind because I had to wait 1hr45mins. This lady left me and went to chat with a coworker for the next 20 minutes. SO, I made an appointment for shortly after for my sticky key on my iphone, and the guy that served me although had a good attitude, he did not do anything for me but teaching me how to use icloud. Now my warranty has expired and I would have to $190 to get a replacement phone when I could have gotten it for free with warranty. Further on, yesterday I bought my ipad there, (why do I keep going back? because I would rather drive for 20 mins than 35 mins to yorkdale mall) When I opened my ipad there was a scratch on the back, not to mention I was almost home when I realized as a student i was supposed to get $50 itune card, but was never offered. So I called in, and they said I have to come into the store to get my card (I thought they were advanced, why not just credit my account?) So I DROVE BACK AGAIN for the 2ND TIME now after purchase to exchange my ipad and get my $50 card. The lady that sold it to me apologized and gave me my $50 itunes card and an exchange. I'm not cheap, but gas is 1.30/L, and if every time I have to drive back and forth twice to buy something, I'd rather just buy nothing at all.
