I've been an Apple customer for many years. I've always bought iPhones for myself and my family, and one of the things I appreciated most was the excellent customer service. But during my last visit to the store, I left feeling extremely disappointed. The employee who assisted me was not courteous. He didn't offer to help transfer my data, something I've always been offered at other stores, and he didn't even give me a bag or case to carry my new iPhone. He handed me the phone in a careless way, almost throwing it into my hands, as if saying, "That's it, now leave." What made it worse was seeing how other customers were treated kindly, with patience and attention. I didn't receive that treatment. No one asked for my documents, but from the way I was looked at and spoken to, it felt like he assumed I wasn't in the country legally. It was an uncomfortable experience that left me feeling judged based on how I look or the fact that I speak Spanish. I hope Apple takes this kind of behavior seriously. Extremely disappointed with the customer service at this store. Apple is known for its innovation and quality, but the in-store experience completely failed to live up to that standard. I purchased a product and didn't open it immediately. When I finally did and tried to charge it, it wouldn't power on at all--clearly a manufacturing issue. Instead of acknowledging the defect, I was made to feel at fault simply because I hadn't charged it right away. Really disappointing to see this kind of response. This location the worst of the Apple stores I've been to in the NY/NJ area. Last place out of 8 stores. There was no 'greeter' and it took a while before anyone came to see if I needed help with a product purchase. Finally, a sales rep helped me with the product order. It was in stock and coming from the back. I got the item and assumed the correct item was in the bag -- it's not rocket science! But they gave me the wrong version and now I have to waste 2 hours round trip just to go back and correct the employee error. I don't think I will purchase from this store in the future. It's extremely inconvenient walking through the entire Freehold Raceway Mall just to get to their store. read more

It always feels like Black Friday when going to the Apple Store. No matter what time of the day you go, it's safe to say you'll spend at least 90 minutes there trying to figure out the best device to purchase. I'm sure many of these people are just browsing and they account for a lot of the hullabaloo. It's best to make an appointment, but that's no guarantee they will take you on time, yet they try to do their best. Since we are dependent on these devices and want to be "in the know", we actually relish this. I have consistently had a great experience at this store. The staff are knowledgeable gave me the pros and cons of the devices I was considering, and help me figure out the price point that worked best for me. Today Emily helped my sister choose a new iPhone and it was a simple seamless transaction. She is thrilled with her phone and with the service. We even got a trade-in on the old phone. We were not rushed and we got personalized service. I highly recommend this Apple store, this is the third time I've gone there to purchase a device. read more

I understand the Apple store concept however somehow this location is one of the worst when it comes to dealing with service customers. At 1 point I count s over 9 blue shirts and grey jackets talking to each other. I arrived 40 minuets early for an internet scheduled appointment. I am not posting an angry message because they didn't see me early. I'm pointing out that instead of pointing me to an area and wait or even showing any interest in my and my Apple experience or even trying to sell me something I was quickly processed and sent away to come back in 30 minuets. I was nicely asked to leave. WTF!!! I'm not a mall person, I drove to Freehold purposely to go to the Apple store, I'm an Apple product guy try and keep me in the store! Now onto my appointment... the IPhone 6 is having batter replacement issues and mine is no different. There's a special program on it and it's highly publicized. I made my appointment based on the battery when I booked it on the Internet. The Genius Bar Guy was very nice and efficient, determined my battery was due for replacement and told me "we don't stock batteries" again WTF!!! Where is the efficiency and wow factor from this technology and information company. I was informed the battery would be ordered and I had to return to have it replaced. There is a lack of people management at this store. There is a lack of parts stocking and appointment tracking. If a guy makes a battery appoint for a phone with a common bulletin posted issue stock a couple batteries. As a business traveler I won't be able to get my battery change for another 3 week's yet I could have had it changed at a non Apple store immediately. I wanted to avoid using non Apple places since Apple voids any future work on you products after you use 3rd party vendors. read more

I trade my IPhone 8 to iPhone 11 plus . They gave 250 for trade which was good . They offer me 2 different payments. One was Apple Card and other was a credit card. I asked what was different. He said that the credit card came with Apple care and 0% for 2 years Great Right !!! He told me how much payment and I real did not think to add up for 2 year payment... So I trusted the fast talking guy at Apple. Why ... they so nice and trust worthy!!! Wrong !!! Well guess what ... Shame on me for not checking on my Receipts before I left the store. They were so nice ... put receipt in the bag with out showing me the receipt.... Well I get home and I see that Appel care was included in with payment .... For .... 200.00. I call the store ... I was in the phone for 10 min only to get transfer to store manger with attitude He said bring the phone back and we will give you phone back. When I asked for District manger ... I got ... sorry I can give that The bottom line is .... check your receipts and the true payment that Apple care is included.... We guess what ??? You paying for it !!!! Just came to mall to buy an iPad for a birthday gift. When I arrived I was greeted by 5 people doing nothing but greeting you and checking you in. I asked for an iPad and was told I need to come back when I have an appointment. I scratched my head and asked for a manager who said I need to wait 30 minutes so he can have someone ring me up (he had a card swipe in his pocket). It is 2022 and we are all about instant gratification and apple is leading the world in technology but not cashiers. Maybe they should install some vending machines in the store and not inconvenience the staff. read more

Apple is great, but this is a bad store. This is the closest store to me, so I've gone multiple times for sales and service going back over ten years now. I rarely have a good experience at this store. In fact, I haven't in years. This store got a lot worse around 2010. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS STORE. DO NOT BUY HERE!!! Directed to the Apple store in Freehold by Apple support. Apple support checked and store is one that does repairs. Drove in the monsoonal rain an hour to get to store on Thursday Aug 11 arrived at 3:13 pm for a 3:20 appointment. Checked in, told to go the the" second table" At least 6 apple representatives standing around because no one was shopping due to the monsoonal rains. Wait at table for a good 15 minutes while reps stand around, I start to leave when a rep finally comes over. Explain my watch is cracked and that I was told by Apple support to go to store since I have Apple Care. Rep says "we don't do repairs here , call Apple support" Patiently re-explain Apple support sent me in fact they made the appointment for me , rep then grabs my phone out of my hand, asks me to "open phone." Phone was already open and she proceeds to download apple support app without my permission. I yell, " hey what are you doing" which prompts the "supervisor" who claimed he worked there 7 years ( which was an outright lie because we bought 8 I Phones at there as gifts 5 months ago and he was NOT the supervisor there) "Supervisor" says for $69 + tax I can " guarantee watch will be delivered FEDEX tomorrow Friday since it is before 5 pm and the phone is going out from Pennsylvania" Check this morning phone order not shipped yesterday or tis morning. Called Apple support and they look up order which btw doesn't show up on app she downloaded and they tell me the wrong Iwatch replacement was ordered based on my serial number for replacement and that it had not shipped yet. Tried to cancel order with Support since obviously it is the incorrect IWatch and will not be overnight but Apple says can not cancel. Watch scheduled to be delivered TUESDAY which 4 days later is definitely not overnight. Will refuse order and will report to the Better Business. Also sent complaint to Apple about store. read more

Terrible customer service experience from Angie. As I engaged with Angie regarding my device issue, she mentioned that there may be data loss during the repair of my device. I explained that really there shouldn't be any data loss if the issue I'm having (powering on) doesn't have to do with the hard drive inside the device and that data loss may occur only if I am transferring to a new device (which I am not). I mentioned that I work in Cybersecurity, I did so to communicate my understanding of data security concerns and to emphasize the importance of not losing any data during the repair process. Instead of addressing my concern seriously, Angie reacted in a manner that was wholly unbecoming of an Apple employee. "well good for you but that's how it is" with a rude attitude. I replied by saying "well its ok then, we will see what the repair tech will say this device needs" I was astonished that I (the customer) am speaking in a manner nicer and more presentable than the very employee that their whole job is to welcome customers into the store. Later on, I observed and heard Angie gathering 3 of her colleagues, and to my astonishment, they proceeded to mock and mimic my words, word for word, with laughter and giggles. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also disrespectful. I felt belittled by the very people who are supposed to represent Apple's commitment to customer service and professionalism. I understand that employees may have off days, but such behavior is inexcusable and tarnished the reputation of such company that is known for it's dedication to its customers and its reputation for quality service are qualities that I have held in high regard, which is why this experience was so disheartening. The day after I call to check on my device and to my surprise I am told that my device won't be repaired and that a replacement will be ordered (3-5 business days). I first said its a good thing that I called first, before driving all the way to the store. (Someone should have checked in with me from the store in the morning or a courtesy email should have been sent explaining the state of my device and offer me the choice and consent to either order a replacement device or explore my other options but no i had to call myself and ask). I was then surprised that they are refusing to order the replacement device to my house (mind you i am disabled and it is not easy to leave the house for silly things like this) I was then also surprised that they are refusing to do a data transfer from my old device to my new device even tho my hard drive is intact and the problem is a battery issue according to the store. Just overall terrible experiences on top of half ass phones, I will not be a customer to this company anymore. Only good interaction was with Nilson who helped get a loaner phone in the meantime and answered my question that many of his colleaguesdid not have the knowledge and or attitude to answer. I have been having issues with my AirPods for a long time, and every time I tried to get them replaced or repaired, Apple would find some way to "troubleshoot", and the problem would just come back. Today my AirPods case just completely stopped working and I spent hours on the phone with apple support for them to wind up telling me they can't do anything and for me to pay for repairs. THEN I called the freehold location, and they were absolutely incredible!! Sam (in repairs) and Nick (on the floor) were so amazing! They were kind, helpful, and sympathetic to the mayhem I experience with Apple today, AND ACTUALLY SOLVED THE ISSUE!! Usually i don't mind going here because the people helping are always so friendly and patient. I came today to purchase an iPad and was helped by a young girl with dark black hair and she just had no people skills at all. It was quite upsetting and she honestly made me not want to buy the better model just because she was so unpleasant.. i needed the iPad so i got one but no thanks to her. If you are going to work with people, at least PRETEND to like them. Finally the funniest thing.. as i was walking out i asked the other man working "hey what was the girl who helped me name again?" I've been a loyal Apple customer since the first iPhone came out.My family and I only use Apple products.The service in store and online always exceed my expectations.Once in a while there is a hiccup but it's usually with an inexperienced associate in the store,but once it's brought to the managers attention it's quickly resolved. Recently went to the Microsoft store in the freehold NJ mall for my son to try their virtual reality system only to be told two weekends in a row that's it's being updated. Finally on the third try it was working but the associate said my son needed to be 13 and he was only 12,I was with him but they could care less. This kind of service from Microsoft will ensure my continued support and loyalty to Apple. Went in today Thur 8/15/19 for a simple return of an iPhone case purchased this past sat 8/10/19, something that should have been easy. Unfortunately today was one of those days that had a hiccup, a store employee by the name of Zac who was unprofessional, confrontational, rude and clearly inexperienced when dealing with customers made it a very uncomfortable experience for no reason other than his lack of understanding and consideration of what a valuable loyal apple customer deserves. Luckily Dave the manager come over and extended his apology as Zac was clearly 100% at fault for not providing the customer experience that apple is famous for. When I finally got an employee to acknowledge me, it was going to be another 20 minute wait because unfortunately I didn't know the secret system for getting helped. This is my first experience with an iPhone & lets suffice to say, it's a learning curve from my Samsung. WIthin days of receiving my phone I found myself having to visit the Apple store. I know about the online appointment ability so I scheduled online. I thought a Monday morning would be slow; wasn't I surprised that the soonest I could get would late afternoon. I showed up to my appointment to a PACKED store, not what I expected. Come to find out, everyone else had an appointment too. I was glad I scheduled ahead of time & didn't just 'show up'. I was cold by another customer if you don't schedule, they don't see you. It took me awhile to find out what I was expected to do upon arrival. The 2 guys & was trying to ask seemed as though they didn't see me standing in front of them. After several minutes a got a bit more forceful & they noticed. Once I signed in, my wait was minimal despite the crowds there. Another employee came by to let me know the wait would not be long, which I appreciated. I didn't notice the exact time I was called but it seemed to be right around when my appointment was. Dan was wonderful! He was patient & answered all of my questions. I did not feel rushed by him, despite the crowded store, at all. My phone problem turned out to be my lack of skill on setting up my new phone. Im ashamed to know ive been supporting a company for 12 years that is so lowly valued on customer service. I never have had an issue with going to the Genius Bar; however my mother had issues with her Apple Watch and she saw someone on the floor. It first started with a floor person Anthony who was very sweet but didn't know how to fix our product. We had to wait thirty minutes for a restoration only to find out that the product didn't contain "dictation." He was very frantic when he couldn't fix it; so it went to his team member who was standing around for help. Benjamin was the person he went back and forth to; when we finally said "please have him come over here to help you." When Benjamin came over he contained no smile, no customer service, no compassion. Barely acknowledge us as customers. He was very degrading and tried to tell us to leave and call Apple instead of fixing the problem at the store. So since Anthony had to go to lunch (unneeded information). We then were traded off to Jenna which she was laughing and didn't know that we had to pair the Apple Watch; she was asking us what to do! You can't make this up. We had to ask for the manager Chad..who wanted us to go home and call Apple instead of waiting. Instead trying to deescalate the situation he was very condescending with no smile, no kind words nothing. Where has the customer service gone? Do these people at Apple think they can treat their customers this way? It's disgusting. I have been a customer for over 12 years and this is the WORST experience I have ever had. We're an Apple family, everything we own is Apple. Apple TV, 2 Ipads, 2 Macbook airs, over 100 itune movies, and apple watch and every other apple iphone that comes out. I love apple. I even own the stock. However, the Freehold Raceway Mall Apple Store, is the worst I have ever seen. Although their products are homogenius, and I'm sure they have inventory. The level of service, and general attitude of the employees that we have had experiences with, is below par, and unacceptable for Apple. There is no one specific occasion, however, we have been let down at this store multiple times. 1. I dropped my iphone while at the mall, trying on some jeans. This is my fault. Luckily enough, I have always purchased the applecare on every item we have purchased. Took the phone to the store, and the apple employee, who seemed to have somewhat of a Napoleon complex, took a look at my phone and told me it was just a scratch. I asked him to run his fingernail across the screen, and it caught. Asked him, if I dropped the phone, how would a scratch appear? He informed me that they would not replace the phone, only the screen. Which I was of course fine with. After over an hour wait, I gave up and kept my phone with a cracked screen. 2. Iphone developed phantom touch. As if someone was constantly touching the top of the screen. Checked online to see this was a known issue. My phone would start to make random phone calls, and open up apps. Took the phone to the apple store, they informed me that they could replace my phone for $200... They then took my original phone, which I could have sold for at least a couple of hundred dollars. 3. New phone that was replaced, within 92 days, the touch ID sensor failed. Took the phone to the apple store, informed them that I had just got the phone 92 days prior. They informed me that since it was a replacement, and I had not purchased the phone, the phone did not carry the same warranty. Explained that I paid $200 for the phone and they took my old phone. No one mentioned anything about a 60 days warranty, as oppose to the 1 year. And being an iphone should it not last longer than 92 days. The guy I spoke with, informed me he could talk to the manager. Came back and told me they could replace my phone for another $200. Told him that, that puts me back in the same place.... Walked out without replacement phone. Apple needs to do an in depth review of this Apple store. read more

I really felt sorry for the little Apple store because the Microsoft store was so big, which isn't always the case, but the Microsoft store was devoid of customers, while the Apple store had many. It seems good that Apple are putting stores in malls that don't have Tiffany's, Cartier, or Bloomingdales. The staff seemed willing to help me, but I didn't really need anything. It's more than a bit disappointing that Apple has pushed the software delivery to the internet, as some people don't have high speed connections. One point of the store originally was to house products that would sell computers. I really hope the "Genius" staff is good, as they vary at different locations as much as any group of people does--well, except for clones, of course. People need good help, especially when the iPhone can be such a pain at times. I've learnt that Apple are going to start replacing iPhone dislays. I guess too many other people are getting the business for Apple not to get into it. It's a fairly easy process if you're methodical--and about a 45 minute operation. I made an appointment and received a confirmation email and two conformation text messages. When I checked in at the store it was immediately apparent that they did not have record of my appointment. I showed the TWO confirmation texts and was told it was no problem and to wait. Ten minutes later after I was not being helped I asked how long I would have to wait and was informed at least another 15 minutes. What is the point of making an appointment?!?
