I thought I updated this, well, now I am. I later moved in late 2018 to my own place, because of falling behind with previous moves, they were two hours behind by the time they got to me. I was so pleased with the move, and very pleased they took the time out to call with arrival updates. With care, they quickly got everything into the truck and we were on our way. I have three kids (cats) and they helped me with their carriers and brought them, again, with care, into the house. Because they were so late, the manager called and offered a discount, no way! If I'm not recommending them to friends & acquaintances I'm using them for my own move. They offer a fair price for very efficient work. They take a lot of stress out of moving. I can't imagine a worse moving company than Apple Moving in Dallas. I sold most of my furniture before moving, so I only had them move my bedroom furniture and a few other things. It was truly amazing how much damage they did moving so few items. Instead of moving very heavy nightstands down the stairs one at a time, one of the movers stacked them and tried bringing them down on a dolly. Because of the weight, he lost control coming down the stairs, scraping the walls down the stairway and crashing it into the wall at the bottom of the stairs. My landlord ended up deducting $250 from my deposit to cover the resulting damage. Instead of wrapping my nearly new, white Tempurpedic mattress, they picked it up with their filthy hands and loaded it into a dirty truck, completely covering it with disgusting, greasy stains (see posted photos). My bed has mechanical base that allows me to make adjustments that take pressure off by back. Prior to moving the pedestals for the bed, I asked them if they were familiar with how they worked so they could set them up properly at the new location. I was assured they had moved them before and were familiar. After 25 minutes of trying to get them to work at the new location, they gave up and left them in non-working condition. They also damaged a dresser so the two bottom drawers would not close, and the bent a post on a lamp, causing the shade to sit crooked. In general, I've never seen so little care taken by a moving crew. They just grabbed as many items as they could carry in a trip, often hitting doorways and walls along the way. I was so upset with the move, I filed a damage claim the same day. After about 35 days, I received a $250 check for the wall damage and they sent a repairman to fix the dresser. The repairman did fix the dresser enough so the drawers close, but discovered structural damage behind the drawers that he could not fix (see posted photos). After 65 days and multiple phone calls, I still have not received any information on what Apple Moving plans to do about the mattress, the bed pedestals, the bent lamp or the remaining damage to the dresser. All they can say is that "By law, they have 90 days to address damage claims." Apparently, they plan to use every last day allotted to them legally, if indeed they plan to do anything more at all. A voicemail to the owner requesting a call back to discuss has gone unanswered. IN SUMMARY, IF YOUR GOAL IS TO DAMAGE AS MANY THINGS AS POSSIBLE DURING YOUR MOVE, THEN BY ALL MEANS, CALL APPLE MOVING -- THEY'LL DO A BANG UP JOB FOR YOU. However, if that is not your goal, or you would like to work with a company that stands behind their service and works quickly to resolve any issues that arise, I strongly suggest you call a different moving company. read more

I have used Apple twice before with very good luck and a timely move at a very reasonable price. This time was an absolute nightmare. When I called to get a quote, I was told with very little furniture and mostly boxes, it would be equivalent of moving a studio apartment and that it would be cheaper to go with the hourly rate of $125 per hour and would probably take about 2 hours total given the items. On the day of the move after waiting an hour and a half I had to call the office and speak to Deb. I let her know that no one had showed up and I've not gotten a phone call she told me she would check and call me back. I got a call back that the original truck is broken down and that she was sending another crew to here shirred me it was a mover and they would be there in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later still nobody showed up so I made a second call I barely got an apology and was told they're on their way. The man who showed up we're extremely slow and took forever to get the truck loaded when I realized what time it was two hours had already gone by and they still have not moved a mattress and springs and electron a keyboard and China cabinet yet. Finally we left for the new house and arrive within 30 minutes, again they took forever to get the truck unloaded and I'm talking it was mostly just boxes. Instead of having things taken to proper room I had everything brought into the dining room because they were extremely slow and I could be with dollar signs going up on a rate that I was not prepared to pay for when I was told I had what was equivalent to a studio apartment in things to move. I had to pay $500 for a $250 move because this company that people that did not know what they were doing. I have called the office manager several times to keep give me excuses saying the owner had my information and will get back to me yet it's been over 11 days and still nothing. In fact today I had to call yet again and got attitude from Deb who they deposited office manager Saying she hasn't called me back because she doesn't know anything. It should not take multiple phone calls and multiple emails to go through a short list of items in the day I was overcharged instead they're trying to scam me out of money and refused to give me any kind of refund or recognition that I was overcharged. Please do not use this moving company as they are not as good as they used to be and there's absolutely zero customer service; all they want is your money then they ignore you. Update: I wrote a former review about this moving company when my tv was broken. The issue was handled quickly and apparently the men who moved my things were fired for not telling me they broke my tv. I was not charged for the move and was given the difference to equal the cost of the tv. I spoke with the owner directly and got it handled. I will say the last time I called Deb was a bit rude and unprofessional I informed the owner of this and he said he would listen in on the call so I don't know if anything was ever done about it. Mindy was nice when I picked up my check. My lesson learned from this stressful ordeal... next time I am moving my own things. I'd rather take a day or 2 off and gain some muscle mass moving before I entrust anyone with my things. I don't even let anyone drive my car so idk why I would allow people to move my most prized possessions. If some thing is broken then it would be my fault and I wouldn't have to deal with anyone else and stress about being reimbursed or someone's attitude over the phone. I've used Apple Moving twice before with no problems. When I had to move again I didn't hesitate in booking them again. This finally time I was scheduled for an appointment between 2-4 on Friday. I got a phone call saying the movers were running late and would be at my apartment after 5pm. I waited and waited. I finally called the office before 6pm and was unable to get anyone to answer or even left a voicemail. The line kept hanging up on me. I started emailing asking about an ETA for movers. I got nothing and finally gave up at 7pm after 5 hours of waiting. I just got an email the next day saying sorry they couldn't help me. I am updating my review to add recent interactions with this company. After posting reviews about the awful experience with Apple Moving, the owner called me and apologize for what happen to me. He said his company has never had a no show in the 4 years that he owned the company. He offered to compensated me for my negative experience as soon as he returned to the office, along with offering to help with my next move. I waited for a week before calling about a status of check. The owner told me he wrote the check on the 1st and went out the previous day. After waiting another week and not receiving anything, I followed up again with a phone call. I'm still waiting for a return phone call almost a week later. I hope that anyone who decides to deal with Apple Moving will have better experience than me. read more

Do not use these movers! Horrible! The very first time I used them they came 2 hours past their window and I only continued to use them because they were semi affordable. But you get what you pay for...horrible customer service. Debbie is the worst in customer service and she's the manager and then mindy isn't much better. They are dishonest and liars. They demanded I be at the location for pick up and they are also liars. They said that I refused items that were picked up SEVERAL times and that is absolutely not true. Not trustworthy liars. Do not use these movers if you want someone trustworthy! They are super disorganized also. I would send them invoices and they wouldn't even print it to pick up my items. They also close before 5 pm MANY times where I can't even get a hold of them. TL;DR: No call. No show. If you enjoy being screwed over after going above and beyond to follow up (totally backwards I give better customer service than they do) then by all means put all your chips on Apple Moving. I have a place full of items packed and I have to return keys tomorrow. That will be awfully difficult seeing as how APPLE MOVERS DIDN'T SHOW UP AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO CALL. Full story? Let's start with saying it's so hard to make a decisions based on reviews left by strangers which is why I chose to take the recommendation to use Apple Moving from a real person. I mean a few bad experiences doesn't make for a whole company's overall performance right? Sadly, in this case that is correct. It is 8:09p on Wednesday, 23 October. Dallas was hit by an EF-3 tornado on Sunday the 20th. As soon as I could the morning after, I called Apple Moving to let them know I was in the disaster zone and to please let me push my move time from 12p-2p to the last slot of the day. They said their office was also in a disaster zone and they would need to call me back. I waited a few hours and called again. HINT: You should start recognizing a pattern now. A second phone call to them confirms they are "pretty sure" changing the time wouldn't be an issue but let's follow up the next day as we both need to adjust to the disaster fallout. They couldn't access their system and / or office location. Tuesday rolls around, I call again to confirm. I'm told yes but they didn't sound confident. I wait a few more hours to see if they've been allowed into their office to access their system. I call again. (Seeing that pattern I was trying not to be so cynical about picking up on?). She tells me they had the schedule written down thankfully. She confirms the pushing the time isn't an issue but she would have to call me back about starting after 6p. No return call. This morning, the 23rd, I call, again, to confirm. I'm told yes a crew is scheduled to arrived between 4p-6p as any start time after would involve additional late hours fees. The crew lead is named Benny. He will call me 30 minutes ahead of time. *Let me pause here to say how incredibly stupid I feel not insisting on getting Benny's phone number. You'll see why soon.* I'm hauling butt to pack (mind you I've been without power for days which really hampers one's ability to do things) before 4p rolls around. By 4p on the dot everything is ready to go. I think "FINALLY I can sit and rest." 5p passes. No call. Okay, they said the latest they should arrive is 6p. 5:30p passes with no call. I start getting nervous. 6p passes and no call. Now I tell myself you're in the disaster zone, traffic is bad, it's rush hour too etc. None of that hampers making a phone call but I'm desperate it to go negative. It has been a very difficult few weeks. I was at my wits end before the damn tornado. 6:30p passes and no call. Now? I'm starting to get really irritated. By 6:40p I'm leaving a message on Apple Moving's main line. Another hour passes, I try a phone number I believe was from an employee of Apple and it goes to voicemail. I leave a message anyway. 7:40p and I am beyond livid. Hey, I get it being late sometimes. It's happened to all of us. But NO CALL?!? I try to think: be patient it could be because something awful happened to the crew and Heaven forbid that be the case. As a former business owner, I firmly believe you have a checks and balance system to ensure the last customer of the day is served satisfactorily. If that means I get a phone call from the crew saying they finished a job at 10p then so be it. If my crew doesn't work, I sure as shit won't get paid right? And I'm not about letting anyone get in the way of me and my money. Needless to say my 7:40p message was the best I could do to keep from cursing and screaming. It takes A LOT to anger me but I've been through a lot lately. Clearly my life is not as bad as those who lost their homes, I know. Overall, it's been an exceedingly difficult process dealing with this move for a lot of reasons. I just cannot fathom why one call wasn't warranted. Call to tell me you forgot about me. Call to tell me to f*ck off for not waiting until at least an hour of tardiness passes before calling the main number. The point is just F*CKING CALL ME. The ONLY way I would soften my stance is if facts presented show the crew didn't call because physical tragedy happened to one or both of them. To be clear, I wish no harm on anyone. That is just the only reason I could say to myself "Oh well of course that's the reason not to call!". Otherwise? No reason other than incompetence and lack of honorable work ethic. On July 30, 2013, my wifescheduled a move for August 10 with Apple Moving. The moving company followed up with an email memorializing the details of the move, including the scheduled move time, 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and an exact move cost. At approximately 11:00 a.m. on August 10, my wife received a call from the mover from Apple Moving, informing her that he was running behind on his first job of the morning and would be at our place around 1-1:30 p.m. to begin our move. At approximately 1:23 p.m., he called again to let us know it would be at least another 45 minutes before he was able to make it to our place to begin our move. Finally, he arrived at around 2:30 p.m. to begin the move, a full two and half hours after the quoted window. He began by doing a quick walk through, in which my wife pointed out items that were to be moved. We ended up adding a few items, which we realized would add to our final costs. He gave us an updated cost and proceeded with the move. In our previous moving experiences with Apple, the company has sent at least three men crews out for the job. On this particular move, the mover came only with a 14 year old boy. Early on, the fourteen year old boy got sick and vomited in our yard. He spent the rest of the move lounging on various pieces of our furniture, rummaging through our refrigerator, removing ice packs from our freezer to cool him off, and wiping himself off with one of our monogrammed towels. When he did move items, he often dragged them across the ground, including our king size mattress and box springs. We all felt sorry for him, realizing he should not have been working this job, especially in that heat. I question whether or not his employment was even legal. After they finished packing, they followed me to our new location to begin unloading. After taking the first load, the mover informed me there would be an extra charge for a "long walk." I explained our frustration with both the late start and pace of the move. He made numerous attempts to contact his boss on my behalf, and finally got in touch with him in Miami. He told the mover that he didn't feel like arguing with customers and instructed the mover to waive the fee, ensuring him that he would pay it out of his own pocket when he returned. It was nearly 6 p.m. at this point and I knew we needed to finish the move as soon as possible, especially since we have a 4 month old baby that would soon need to go to bed. I agreed to pay the full amount, minus the "long walk" charge, and to deal with the other issues on Monday. Finally, at around 10 p.m., they completed the move. Seven and a half hours to move a two bedroom duplex! My wife and I ended up having to help the mover complete the job. As I previously stated, I have used Apple several times in the past and have never experienced anything like this. Apple has always sent a 3 or 4 man crew to move us, arrived in the scheduled window, and completed the move within a couple of hours. Our previous Apple movers always handled our items with care and conducted themselves in a professional manner. This is why, until now, we were loyal Apple customers. As we began to go through our things, we noticed that a dresser had been chipped and that another item, a BBQ grill, had been left behind at our old place. I was very disappointed with Apple Movers. I even called my disappointment the day of the move and wrote an email afterwards...Still waiting to hear an apology or something. Seems like they don't really care about the service they provide. I scheduled my move 2 months in advance and specifically asked for 3 movers. Unbeknownst to me...it was only a "request"!! I've moved multiple times and have always had 3 movers since I have a lot of stuff to move. If I had known (and they should have said) that this was just a request...then I would have gone with a different company which can deliver what their customers want. The moment the 2 movers showed up, I called the office and they said that I could reschedule my move!!! Really!?!?! After setting up leases, cable, phone, taking the days off, etc etc Apple movers wants me to reschedule my move because they couldn't deliver 3 movers as I "requested"!! NIGHTMARE!! DON'T USE THEM! I used them to move our two bedroom apartment literally 5 blocks to a new apartment. I carefully wrapped all of my furniture before they got there, but they threw my stuff around and stacked things so poorly that almost every piece that wasn't in a box was seriously damaged. I disassembled my bed frame, carefully wrapped and prepared it for them to move. At some point, they actually unwrapped it, stuck clear packing tape around the wood sides and metal pieces that made up the frame (to make it all one big taped together piece) and threw that in their truck - without even re-covering it!! Then, when they ripped the tape off at my new apartment, all the stain on the wood ripped off along with it. Throughout the move, I asked them repeatedly to be more careful. Instead of trying that, they just avoided me whenever possible so I couldn't see them. They broke two lamps, ruined my bed frame, put two huge dents in my sofa table, left a 4 inch gash into the top (and center) of my coffee table and permanently stretched/dented the leather on my couch (I didn't even know you could do that). Once I started unwrapping things and saw that their handling had damaged so many pieces, I told them to stop touching my furniture, because I was calling management. I wasn't going to pay them to destroy my furniture! They told me not to call, that no one was there and I didn't have a choice, that if I didn't pay and sign the form that released them, they would take all my furniture. Well, after some choice words, I called management despite their protesting. Of course, no one answered the phone. We argued in a stalemate for about an hour, management still hadn't called me back or answer any of the phone calls, and they were threatening to take all my furniture if I didn't pay them. i knew if they took my furniture I would never get it back and - lets face it - there were 3 of them and one of me - so i paid them, but made them call and leave a message on managements phone explaining that I only paid them because they threatened to take my furniture. Management called me back 3 days later to take a damage report. I submitted pictures of all the damage and a detailed report and awaited my ruling. About a month later, they sent me a check for $95. We contracted Apple Movers DFW to load a container for our move from Texas to Tennessee in November 2014. Another company was doing the actual moving, so their employees were only moving the items from the house to the container. In the process, they damaged three items of furniture and did not properly pack a fourth per my explicit request, which was then damaged while loading or in transit. I documented the damages caused by the Apple employees before the truck was closed, while it was still outside our home in Texas. When we were settled in Tennessee and I was able to review the damage, I contacted Apple Movers to file a damage claim. Over and over I was told that they emailed me forms, or mailed me information. I never received anything from them when they said they sent it. Finally I was able to file a claim, with photos, via email, showing the damages that occurred on the day of the load. The movers used a unique stair-step shaped CD storage shelf as a step-stool, which was quite disrespectful, and cracked the wood. Against my wishes, they removed the mirrored tiles from the top of my coffee table which I have not been able to reinstall properly. They broke the wheel off a filing cabinet, which compromised the structural integrity and it broke, and had to be discarded. Lastly, I asked them to carefully load an antique wooden sewing basket, which they did not, and the jostling during transport caused it to lose parts and become damaged beyond my ability to repair it. I was heartbroken over the damages, but am trying to get over it. After I filed my claim, I did not hear back from Apple. They claimed not to have received my report. I resent it. I called back eventually and they said my claim was denied because the damage was caused in transit and they did not provide that service. That was patently FALSE, as the photos showing the damage were taken in Texas, before the truck was moved. I was told to wait for the paperwork regarding the denial to arrive and I could then appeal it. I never received that paperwork. This whole back-and-forth took months. I finally gave up because I have enough other stuff to worry about and didn't want to hassle with these people any longer. The receptionist who handled my calls was repeatedly dismissive, hostile, unhelpful, and I eventually got the impression she was just outright lying to me as I NEVER received the communications she claimed were sent to me. I'm not an idiot, I know how to check to see if emails come through. Our mail was being forwarded from our old address, but nothing came to our new address. When I provided the new address to Apple, I STILL did not receive anything. I have gone on to steer anyone who asks away from this company as their practices are wholly shady. I want cash back for the amount covered under our contract, at a minimum, for the damages cause by their employees' carelessness and disrespect. I booked Apple Moving based on positive reviews from a family member. I was excited about their rates and lack of hidden fees and their willingness to communicate in the beginning seemed great! I booked them a month in advance and got a prompt invoice and contract. They were to arrive between 10am-12pm on a Saturday. Moving day came and I waited u too 10 after 12 to call because i had heard nothing from them. Got voicemail even though hours said 1pm on the message. They never called me back. By 3pm I had to got get my own Uhaul and move myself. Called again to leave another message for a return call on Monday. It has been 2 weeks and have had no communication from them. Good thing I didn't pay upfront. Never trust them or hire them unless you want be let down. read more

My window was from 12p-2p, how about they didn't show up until damn near 4:30p. Hell I could of moved my things myself for the amount of time I had to sit and wait uuugh. I don't do much moving but did do a lot of research on reviews. It seemed every place had some sort of horror story, so it was a roll of the dice as far as I was concerned. Well, I chose Apple Moving DFW because they were available and had some good reviews-- oh, and the price was what I was comfortable with. The type of move I was doing was one storage place to another (closer to home). I first called and spoke to Mindy and she was very helpful explaining my options and decided to go with the hourly 2 man crew. We booked for this past Friday. They explained how the appointment window works and so I wasn't the least bit upset that they were running late. I work with people that don't tell the whole truth about the scopes of jobs and when you show up, it's something completely different. I'm sure with moving things, it happens all the time. I forgot who called me, but the customer service was excellent. They showed up about an hour after the original appointment with a 3 man crew. I remember reading some of the horror stories about when they work by the hour, they are very slow... not the case at all. These guys were like rockets. Fast and effective. The bottom line is I do recommend Apple and I would certainly use them again. The friendly staff goes a long way with me. read more

Just used Apple for the 3rd time so that should say something for how we feel about them... For the most recent move, they arrived 15 minutes early and immediately got to work. We had some difficult items (a large refrigerator that they had to remove the doors to fit through the door and a treadmill that was built in the room it was used in, which they had to partially disassemble to move). The move took about 6 hours but they worked hard the entire time. We hope to not have to move ever again but would use Apple again if we do! read more

Book these people! I have booked movers for at least six moves and this was the second time I booked Apple. I would recommend booking in advance since they have a great reputation. I have only used them for smaller moves (two-bedroom duplex to a three-bedroom house) so I have no idea about moving from McMansion to McMansion. I booked them for the first slot in the morning and they were right on time, which movers from my previous companies never, ever were. In the bad reviews it seems like a lot of these people don't understand that you have to get ready for the movers, be fully packed, and completely empty your drawers if you want things to move along quickly. We did that and the movers did an amazing job: three hours and they never stopped working. Also, moves almost always take longer than usual so I recommend booking the first appointment with any moving company you choose and always follow up the week and day before to make sure you were on schedule. If you've read some of my other reviews, you'll know that I had a house fire back in 2006. Well, I needed to get my stuff back into my house after it was done being rebuilt and I asked Apple Moving to do it. They arrived on time to my storage facility and promptly started emptying it out. It had to have been under 20 minutes for all my stuff. This included 60 boxes, 15 feet of clothes, a couch, a love seat, a bed, entertainment center, speakers, desks, computer tables, chairs, etc. This was enough stuff for a 2 bedroom house (I didn't have all my rooms furnished). It was super quick. Then it was all packed up and brought over to my house and they unloaded the stuff even faster than they packed it. It was truly amazing. The one thing that I didn't like was that they put my boxes with their labels toward the wall so I couldn't see what was in the box until I unstacked them and turned them around. Otherwise, the move went off without a snag. Back then, almost 5 years ago, it cost me around $440. It was worth it. read more

I can't say enough good things about Apple Moving. After being left high and dry by Dallas Movemasters who called me two hours before our scheduled move to inform me they couldn't make it, I called Apple in a flat out panic, having seen their trucks previously in our neighborhood. Mindy and Debbie could not have been nicer or more accommodating and ultimately had a mover at my house at 2 pm. Mind you this is on Friday of Memorial Day weekend! The guys who did the actual move were pleasant, professional and very good with our belongings. My daughter was moving from a 3rd floor two story apartment to another third floor apartment with another stop in between in 90 degree heat, and the guys finished ahead of time. There were a ton of steps and these guys were fast! Their price was great, in fact they even honored a 20% coupon on their website--all for a last minute move. I have used @AppleMoving before with not much complaint, but after this last move, never again! I paid $350 for the worst move ever, ​and it was only across the parking lot in an apartment complex. Everything was ready, and boxes were in separate rooms. I asked the movers to put the boxes in the same room from which they came and a specific set of boxes in a single room. Almost everything ended up in the single room! The boxes I needed access to the most were buried in the back of this single room, making it even more challenging to get to what I needed. Bedroom boxes were in the kitchen, and so on. This was a horrible experience and to top it off, my sewing machine is missing. I notified the movers at the time, nothing. Filed a claim. Nothing. They gave us a smaller truck than what was needed for our BIG move. As a result, they had to make 2 trips. However, prior to hiring Apple, I clearly outlined how much stuff we would have, confirmed it with Debbie in the office and even told them the reason I chose them over 2 men and a truck was because they had a larger truck. However due to the inadequate truck, they had to make a 2nd trip on our dime. Their hourly rate was $130/hr. We were charged an extra 1.5 hours for their mistake. When I called the owner, they decided that rather than giving me the full refund of $195, $65 was sufficient. CHOOSE ANOTHER MOVER. It seems they purposely give a smaller truck to make extra money. I have just moved to the Dallas area and have used the services of Apple three times in one month. Each time the staff were very professional and courteous. This applies to the office staff as well as the moving staff. They keep in contact with you on the projected time of arrival and are timely. When I move again, I will certainly use the services of Apple and hope I can get the same moving crew that I've had all three times. Izzy and Ronnie are fabulous! These guys are fast, hard workers and are very courteous. They take time to be careful with your household items and place them exactly where you want them. They don't "dump and run" which is quite often the case in this business. I have two words of recommendation. HIRE APPLE! You won't be disappointed! These guys were amazing!!! Our apartment flooded, we had to move out the next day.... they (3 guys) showed up at 8am and worked steady the whole time!! Moved us out of the flooded apartment and into our new town house! Very respectful guys and new how to move big expensive furniture. The price was amazing, I was expecting to pay way more, and to be honest the way they worked they could ask for more money!!! read more

Horrible moving experience; I'd give 0 stars if I could. After arriving, 1 of the 2 movers got to work while the other one proceeded to nickel and dime me over little things to the tune of $350 partially because he miscounted my boxes by 30! I was able to recoup some of that by moving my 5lb nightstand, 2 jackets, 3 picture frames, vacuum, and door mat myself. It then took the 2 movers 6 hours to move my 2bedroom apartment to a house 10 miles away. They would wrap up a desk or dresser (without checking to see if anything was in it), then throw it over their back upside down, and then ask if there was anything breakable in it! And then when we finally got to the new house, they didn't bother reading what room the boxes went into, they just stacked it all in the dining room. My wife was furious and since apparently there is no supervisor or owner available on weekends she called the office the following week. She explained the situation to some lady who instead of correcting the situation or even apologizing went into some rant blaming us for our experience. My mother-in-law is in the process of moving her 4 bedroom house and was going to use Apple. After our experience she opted to use another company instead. DON'T USE APPLE MOVERS! read more

I heard about Apple Moving on a Yelp talk string and then put in a quote request to them and some other movers. I ended up going with Apple and was really so impressed. Their pricing impressed me most of all - I used an online discount code and ended up with 20% off, but each time we had to add items (they had to move up a staircase we didn't count on, we added furniture at the last minute...) the price only went up a small amount and it was all so fair. We had them move all of our furniture and we moved the boxes ourselves. This is the letter I just wrote to the sales agent that emailed me my quote: "I just wanted to personally say thanks for Apple's moving services and all the help that you provided. I am SO impressed with Apple and will be writing a review on Yelp.com (which is how I heard of you). I was initially attracted to Apple movers because of your priced-by-item system. Your website was easy to navigate, you didn't pester me with emails like a competing move-by-item company did, and your price was clearly the best. The conversation that we had on the phone when I called to confirm was very helpful, and most of all, the two movers that came on the day of the move were just amazing. I'd appreciate it if you could extend my thanks to them as well - they were fast, professional, helpful, and really went the extra mile in a couple of instances without charging us. You spoke the truth when you said there were no hidden fees, and I really feel like I got an amazing deal by using Apple's services." I know, I sound like I work for them, but I promise I don't. I really was just so impressed by this move and the end cost to me. They did a great job moving our washer/dryer, couch and dresser from our 3rd story apartment to our new house about 8 miles away with no problems. Using a large Dolley 2 guys unhooked, plastic wrapped and brought down the dryer and then the washer. One guy then carried/balanced our couch on his head and walked it down to the truck while the other guy wrapped the dresser in plastic wrap. They both walked the dresser down to the truck and followed me to the new house. Once there the only problem was that the dryer required a 3 prong cord (we had a 4 prong) and the washer cold water hookup had a rubber hose that was rusted stuck. They didn't want to put too much pressure and break it so they hooked up the rubber hose for now. All in all a good experience because I didn't want to do that myself! read more

Do not trust this company! I was over charged by 40% At first I was given the option of flat rate or hourly move. But when I tried to book hourly, I was told only flat rate was allowed. Then I was charged double for several items! For the actual move, the movers did not wrap or protect my furniture... Not even the mattress or couch. So everything was thrown in a dirty moving van, arriving with hand prints and dirt. Calls to complain were not shown any respect. I understand there's positive reviews on Yelp for this company (that's how I found them), but do not book this company! They took unfair advantage of me. We have used this company several times in the past few years. They do a great job of being on time and getting the job done. We just built a new house and bought a new refrigerator to put in our new kitchen. We discovered that Apple movers -in moving our furniture less than a mile- that the freezer door was significantly dented. When I alerted Apple movers about this I was told that a claim would take 90 days! This is unacceptable. I have been in contact with them 3 times about my claim and only got one email when I got a bit ugly. I am disappointed in how they have responded to this situation. If the dent was on the side I would not be so concerned- it is eye level. read more

I called Apple movers at about 9 am on a Tuesday. They offered same day moving and sent two people over at noon! I did the hourly rate as I did not had time for inventory. The price was incredibly reasonable. They did my move for around $300, the other company I called quoted $1200! I will absolutely call them again in the future. read more

I made an appointment with Apple two weeks ago based upon a recommendation from a coworker. Like others have mentioned I was very turned off by the horror stories in other company reviews. Two days ago, Friday, they called me to confirm my appointment for today, Sunday, with a 10am to noon window. It is now 12:31 and no word from Apple. I called the office to get an update and all I get is a recorded message saying they are closed and leave a message. I left a message but what good does that do if they are closed??? I made an appointment for Sunday, and they confirmed my appointment for Sunday, so I would have to assume they DO work on Sunday. Why would there be no way to speak to somebody? Now I'm sitting here with a car loaded full of the stuff I don't trust anyone but me moving, and I'm afraid to leave because I don't know when, or if, they will show. I will add an update to this once this plays-out but as it stands right now the absolute best they could potentially receive from me is 3 stars. Update: they showed up at 12:58. The driver said he made multiple calls to inform me they were running behind but I never answer. My first reaction was he was full of it until he showed me his work order and it had the last digit of my phone number wrong. Not sure how that happened as the office had my correct when they verified the appointment... Anyway, from the time they arrived until they finished the crew was nothing polite and efficient. 5 stars to the crew. My only complaint in all of this: if they are going to have moving crews working on Sunday then they need to give you a number to call and speak to a live person if there should be an issue. read more

I used Apple Moving in Austin and again in Houston with great success, so when we sold our house in Dallas and had to move, I hired Apple again on the recommendation of a friend and my past good experiences. Come to find out, Apple DFW has no association whatsoever with Apple in Austin or Houston. The only actual employees of Apple Moving that you will see on move day are the truck drivers. The drivers are free to hire anyone they want to assist them. They say they don't hire day laborers, but they also say they don't check on who the drivers choose hire - they can use whomever they want. Apple pays the drivers, and the drivers pay the helpers whatever wage they want. Two boxes of expensive electronics never made it from my former home to our new house (believe me, I've turned the place upside down hoping they were somewhere obscure - I like to believe in the inherent goodness of people). The movers saw me pack the boxes, and one of the boxes was made of clear plastic. I called the Apple office, and the woman from the company called the driver who told her the electronics were in a closet in the room we were using for storage. I went to search that room AGAIN, and the boxes were not there, nor are they anywhere else in this house or our former house. I have no proof that they were stolen, but the boxes are DEFINITELY nowhere to be found. The company has supposedly submitted a claim to their insurance, but will not show me any proof that they submitted a claim, nor with they give me the name of their insurance carrier. They claim they will not give me this information based upon the advice of "counsel." Needless to say, I will not be using them again, and I suggest you don't either. read more

First off they arrived late then the price quoted was not the price we were charged. My husband called me when they arrived (late) then the movers were going to charge us double the price quoted. It took them 5 1/2 hours to move our 1 bedroom. The movers were shocked that we had a 2nd stop in there even though my husband and I had discussed it with the customer service rep. The word fragile meant nothing to the movers luckily nothing was broken. We had to move about 1/2 of the items ourselves because the rate we were quoted was not what we were charged. I can't imagine how much we would have to had to pay if we had the movers move the agreed upon items at the cost they wanted to charge. Then when I called later to voice a concern the customer service women (which needs a huge course on how to handle/talk to customers kindly) were rude and didn't apologize for any inconvenience or extra cost. I kept having to repeat myself and even then the woman on the phone kept saying it was our fault and we were wrong and misinformed on how their pricing worked. My mother was going to use them, had received a quote from them, and booked them for her move until my husband and I begged her not to use them because the company was so bad! I am telling you please do not use these movers. I do not understand how they have been in business for so long with lousy service and the nickel and dime "quote" they give you. Actually thats's probably how they take advantage of people because people are stuck on the day of their move. The customer service to the movers themselves are horrible, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. To say I was disappointed would be a gross understatement. read more
