I visited this location for dinner last night. Service was great and quick. Waitress was very nice and helpful. However, the food was atrocious. Applebee's food by itself is of extremely poor quality, but throw the incompetency of Glenville cooks into the equation and they will whip you up a recipe for disaster in the neighborhood. Very disappointed to see this new addition to poor ol' Glenville. Hopefully in time they will figure out what they're doing back there with the microwaves. Until then, count me out. read more

This is our local chain, but it is a terrible disappointment. A couple years old and already has a peculiar odor when you walk through the door. I would assume that the it comes from the rug, but it really is offensive. The waiter was training a young man, which made our visit way too long. Both kept forgetting things we asked for. The place was not busy and our cocktail came out with our meal. I rather drive farther and enjoy my evening and dinner. Food was adequate. read more

Id love to say that the food here is fantastic, but both times I was seated I was never offered so much as a beverage let alone a meal. I'll start by saying I attempted to eat here 3 times. The first time was a fluke. It was a Saturday and we were turned away because they were closed for a "friends and family" event. MMkay. Second time it was a Sunday evening, not very busy. We were seated and waited 15 minutes for anyone to approach our table. We simply walked out and chalked it up to the place being semi-new. Third time it was a Thursday evening, about 7pm. We were seated at a booth and there were probably 4 other tables and one woman at the bar. I counted 7 staff, plus hostess, bartender, and what I assume was the manager munching at the bar register. We waited 15 minutes. No one approached our table. Hubs went to the restroom. Still no service when he came back. We decided to try our luck at the bar. We sat down, and we waited. 10 long minutes while the bartender stocked a fridge. Not once did she even look at us. Other staff were quick to avoid our gaze. We left. Never have I waited so long for service. Train your staff better. It's a job. read more

If you want to know why this Applebee restaurant is rated so low look at the manager and the bartender..... manager leaves his cell phone on the end of the bar and is on it 40 minutes nurse out of every hour. The bartender who is in control of the televisions caters to her friends at the end of the bar but if an actual paying customer makes a request she has an excuse for not fulfilling it. If Applebee's had any kind of clue they'd fire these two clowns and start fresh with people who are in tune to a CUSTOMER SERVICE BASED INDUSTRY. WTF? I had a beer and an entree for dinner. The meal was $18.94; tax was $1.52, for a bill total of $20.46. I gave the waitress $25 - and I never got my change back?!? Yes, I would have tipped $4, but for her to PRESUME I was going to tip the full amount of the change is VERY bold. I will write the Restaurant Manager tomorrow, and tell him what happened. UPDATE: I sent out a snail mail letter on 12/28/15, with my name and address, and never heard back from anyone. Fine. My office had a belated holiday party today. It was suggested that we go to Applebee's, as we work in town. I vetoed the suggestion. Instead, we went to TJ's Flightline Pub. Everyone had a great meal, and two of us had servings so large, we took half the food home, and will get a second meal out of it. read more

I have been to Applebee's restaurants all over the United States, and this is by far the best one I have been to. The worst thing that has happened to me was I got a double order of broccoli instead of green beans. If I was anyone else I would have given them a two but nah, they fixed it by giving me free green beans because it was me that accidentally clicked on broccoli twice for my online order. These one and two star reviews crack me up. Yelp cracks me up, and New York does the most. You guys are pompous pricks. read more

It's walking distance from my house so I really wanted to love it. The waitress was bubbly and enthusiastic but the steak was too salty and although I can't remember what I had, I know it was too spicy. I'll try again because of location but I'll need to find new companions as spouse sees no reason to go back. read more

Good food for a chain restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and spinach salad, shrimp were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned and the salad was a decent size for the price. We ordered some of the sweet potato fries with the different kinds of dip and thought they were good as well. Service was good and drinks were refilled often.i would definitely go back and prefer this location much more than the one in Schenectady. read more

I must be the only one here who has had nothing but good luck with this Applebee's in Glenville. Only one time did I have to wait for my dinner but the manager did come over and apologized. Everytime I've been there the food to me has been good as well as the service. I've been here multiple times and so far so good. read more

Terrible experience. As a server I am generally pretty easy going when I go out to restaurants. I get it. I do it....but I have never experienced such awful service. We went in to grab dinner... It wasn't busy. We were greeted in a reasonable amount of time....put in our drink order... Ordered a water and waited. Beer on bar patiently waiting.... 10 minutes goes by.... Beer Still sitting. She walked by us a few times while beer was sitting on the bar.... Made eye contact....No one at all even attempted to bring it over. You think another server or the bartender would be like,"oh! Sad beer! The table is right there! " but nope. Beer is sad and lonely at the bar. 15 minutes later.... Beer! We had to ask for the water again. Got the water! Food came out..... Which was fine... Except we ordered soup and salad..... Which never showed up. Steak was cooked medium upon inspection.... But alot of grizzle and was not quite medium as I cut into a bit more.....but no one came back to ask about our food. She gave us a discount for forgetting salad and soup and beers..... $2. $2?! Then basically went on ignoring us the rest of the meal until we wanted the check. I usually tip well. I serve. I know how it feels to get a bad tip. You feel like you want to flip a table over....I hate to say it but the service was so bad.... (cringe ) we didn't tip well. read more

Utterly unhelpful service. The restaurant was virtually empty and we received terrible treatment. The barmaid, Angelina was rude, arrogant and unhelpful. With marginal food (at best) I would have hoped this location would have placed extraordinary emphasis on customer service, especially as it is a relatively new location, apparently. I was wrong. I'm not sure what the food tastes like. Plates are flying past me, sadly none are my dinner. It's now been an hour since we ordered, no food. Other tables that sat after Us Are eating happily. This chain restaurant is just as bad as the rest except this one insultingly panders towards locals with photographs of the area hanging on the walls. Im struggling to find anything nice to stay, I guess the landscaping is nice. The manager was too "busy" to talk to us, seemed like he was having a great time chatting up other tables though. Arrived at around 8 pm and sat in bar area til 15 after with no server or acknowledgement that I was seated. With only 2 tables and one person at the bar, I counted 4 servers plus bartender which all looked my way at least twice. Told a server I was leaving and she recommended getting the manager to fix so I agreed. Took another 5 mins for manager to come out. His excuse was he/they didn't see me when I saw him maybe 3 times coming out to chat with his servers by the bar. I usually see the parking lot empty and I guess I found out why. Living in glenville for the past 20+ years, it's nice to finally have a restaurant open later than 9pm. I wasn't too thrilled it was a Applebee's coming to town, it's a bit on the lower end of the chains, but it might be the start of a surge of options. I've been here a handful of times when hubs and I are out late on a Friday or Saturday night. This place is usually hopping. I've gotten burgers in the past, and they've been just meh, not juicy at all, and your choice of pink or no pink really doesn't lend itself to my need for a rare burger. Apparently that is their policy for meat cooking. Last night, Kim was our waitress, and she was friendly and efficient. Always anticipating our need for refills of drinks. I ordered the salmon with the mustard maple sauce and spinach. It came, and I should have known better by just looking at it. It was charred to a crisp. The bottom side that was on the plate was black. It was barely edible as it was so crispy and dry. Hubs tried to get me to send it back, and I should have, but I sawed my way through as much as I could. You don't need to over cook fish like that. I only got about half eaten when I just gave up. I dipped as much of it as I could in the mustard maple sauce to give it some moisture. In the light of day I am kicking myself for not sending it back, a small portion of fish, maybe 5 ounces at 16.95, should have been sent back and gotten a new dish. While I am glad that there is a late night option here in glenville, I wish their kitchen staff knew how to prepare food better. read more

Had a horrible experience. Just there last night for dinner and the service was terrible. Had to send food back as asked for burger to be well done and it was not cooked completely. Wait Staff Supervisor came over to table and said, "I looked at it and it looked ok to me"; when we told her it had been ordered Well Done; she said "Oh, you wanted it EXTRA, EXTRA, WELL DONE." Very rude. The Manager did apologize for the experience we had. Will never go there again; and advise others not to go there. read more

After a terrible experience at this Applebee's, I was contacted by their management almost immediately. After apologizing, they invited me back, to insure that service and food was the quality expected. They were very nice, and understanding. I appreciate their quick response, and the fact that they value their customers. I will definitely return and give them another try. read more

We expected to enjoy a casual dinner with favorite dishes. Sitting at the bar we found the barmaid classless and rude. We have seen classier women at Shenanigans. The appetizers, mozzarella sticks and chicken quesadillas were brought to us at least at room temperature. The strawberry lemonade was brought to us with three tiny strawberry pieces, saltier more than sweet and a poor excuse for strawberry lemonade made with more syrup than lemonade. The barmaid displayed a poor attitude when asked to return the food. She must have had friends at the end of the bar to complain about disappointment.....laughing as if she enjoyed the fact that her place of employment was nothing more than a sad joke. After being confronted on poor food, service, and attitude she proceeded to purposely make our visit even more so less enjoyable. I will make sure to strongly advise against eating at the dump of a restaurant, and even more a terrible bar experience. Have to say, the WORST dining out i've ever experienced. If its possible to subtract any stars a less than smart person has ever given this place, their star count wouldn't exist. Poor excuse of an applebees. read more

Service ok but the food came out while we were eating our appetiters not good time we got to our dinner it was cold.

So ,we went to this Applebee's on a Monday night for a "Quick" Bite. There were 3 of us and a couple of burgers and some apps were the plan. We got seated quickly but that was the end of anything quick happening. Over the next hour and 15 minutes our waitress apologized about the slow kitchen over and over again. She stated that the manager would be over etc., etc. Two of the meals finally arrived-no lie 75 min later and the third dinner came 5 minutes after that. 5 minutes after dinner arrived our waitress asked us about desert as if she was trying to get rid of us. I didn't dare order desert as I was afraid it would take another hour. Had the bill within 2 minutes. That was the only quick part of the experience. Never saw the manager, got a full bill with no offer of compensation. We asked where the manager was but was told he was "busy". Saw him talking to the bartender at that moment. Meal itself was average and not worth suffering through another hour and 15 minute wait. I understand that chain restaurants are not fine dinning and hardly ever complain about them but when I feel like no one cares about how you are treated I feel like I have to warn others. read more

Ellie and I decided that the kinks must be worked out of the new Applebees that recently opened on route #50 in Glenville. We like sitting at the bar and there were ample seats available. We were met with a, what now is the common greeting "Hi Guys" and asked if we wanted a drink. I ordered a Crown Royal Perfect Manhattan up, and Ellie ordered a Grey Goose Cosmo. The drinks came and Ellies was possibly 3/4 full, and mine was not even 1/2 full in what looked like a 8-10oz Martini Glass. I knew a couple at the corner of the bar, said hello, and they left before we ordered. Their plates were still at the bar. While I wasn't surprised at the size of my drink, I really was not in the mood for a debate. The bartender that came over had a tattoo sketched out on her arm from shoulder to wrist that was not colored in yet. It was a complete turnoff to me. I felt like I was being served at the Saratoga Fair by some carnie selling corn dogs. I don't need to see it when I'm being served anything. Wear long sleeves. The description of my Turkey Stacker sandwich didn't really match the description in the menu. It was just a turkey sandwich nothing to write home about. Ellie's Chicken Fajita wrap was average. During entire hour that we spent there, the plates were never picked up at the end of the bar. More training is needed. And Please, look at your tattoos in a mirror if you love them so much, and not show them to people that have to eat food. You don't look clean. read more
