Ordered delivery with DoorDash, and the system didn't transmit to Applebee's our request to make one dinner vegetarian. Not the restaurant's fault, but when we called, Dave was super helpful, got a new entree made up immediately, and gave us a certificate to compensate us for having to come get the fixed order. The food was all good, prepared quickly and packed well, but the service really stood out! Hadn't had Applebee's in a while, but I'll definitely order from them again now! I've been here many times and most of the time it's ok. But this past time, sometime in December was horrible. First off why are waitresses allowed to wear yoga pants too work? Not professional. We got spin dip and had more chips than the actual dip, which tasted ok, a little salty. But as soon as we got out appetizer we got my soup and our burger, our table was packed with plates and food. Four of us had dinner here and everything was great. Our server was wonderful and was very attentive, even thought they were short staffed - it was during a snowstorm. We ordered two Asian Chicken Salads, Grilled Chicken, and I had a steak, caesar salad, and onion rings - all delicious. My steak was cooked just a tad too much but that's not fatal. Went to Watertown Applebee's on 11/26 and it was quite slow in there. Ordered a salad in place of French fries and it had a rotten (and I mean rotten, r-o-t-t-e-n!) tomato in it. We ate the rest of our food and I brought the tomato to our waitresses attention. I had no expectation for a refund, etc and the waitress (she was great) took my plate to the manager. She returned several minutes later and said " The manager apologized". What kind of customer service is that? The manager can't come to our table and say a couple words himself? Piss poor leadership for your employees! There's about 25 other restaurants with a 3 mile radius of this Applebee's and you're better off going elsewhere. read more

My mother and I went there about a year ago to eat a late lunch. I was really looking forward to setting down and visiting with her over lunch after not seeing her for awhile. We both went in and were told by one of the wait staff that we needed to wait to be seated. We stood there for nearly 30 minutes and there was 4 or 5 empty booths that were open right across from us. There was the one female hostess who was too busy flirting with a few of the male customers to seat us. Finally, we took it upon ourselves to seat ourselves in one of the empty booths. One of the waitresses at another table by the booths saw us set down and preceded to walk by us 3 or 4 times and totally ignore us. We waited for yet another 20 minutes of being totally ignored and we finally got up and left. I've never went back and never will. read more

A group of friends and I went to Applebee's the other night. we asked to be seated in the bar area because of the happy hour prices on the appetizers and drinks. My friend asked if the sliders were part of the appetizers and the server said yes... yes they are appetizers so they are part of the deal. Our server failed to ask us how we liked our meat cooked and just assumed my friends all wanted medium. One of my friends and I paid. When the server brought out the ticket to sign my other co worker noticed we were all charged full price for everything. The server took everything back. When she came back she said they were all voided out but she didn't have anything to give us to show that it was and she didn't know how and the manager had left her to handle it. I looked at the "fixed" receipt and still she only marked off the drink and not either of our appetizers. she let us know she was new but then said she's been there a few months already... We asked for the manager who hadn't even thought to come by our table to apologize for the wait. she said he kept leaving her which I don't believe was fair of him. The manager Dave finally came by and asked what the problem was. We told him and he said it would be fixed and he would get a void receipt for the first transaction. he took off before acknowledging my other friends with me- 2 of which still had not even received their receipts. A print out of the void was finally brought out for us. When the tags were bought back for us, my tag was taken care of finally but my friend said her sliders were still not corrected. Just the drink. The server said she never mentioned the incorrect price on the sliders... what?! why should we have to? YOU SHOULD KNOW YOUR MENU! The server said no they aren't part of the deal. My friend told her well that's not what you said when I specifically asked you. she they apologized and said she was wrong. We gave up on trying to fix the rest of the tags. The process of the ring up for us was well over an hour. The manager should had taken care of us before this had gotten so much out of hand. I really love Applebee's, so I am really upset about the service we had at this one. read more

Our experience was clearly far different than every body else's here. Look, we rolled into Watertown for the day for a drive out of town (Ottawa). While this place isn't fine dining, it's decent- no, it was very well done good food. We didn't expect anything fancy, and what we got was well-cooked hot food. Our waitress was friendly, the area was clean (though there were a few flies around... maybe get a fly paper up in a dark corner or something?) We ordered the 2 for $20 date meal- the crunchy onion rings, and two orders of the cajun sizzlin' chicken and shrimp because it looked like the best entree there. You know what? Those onion rings were FANTASTIC. Sure, greasy and huge, but they were crispy and they were huge and they were delicious. The entrees were really well done. The plate was indeed sizzlin', the chicken breast was juicy, and the shrimp were good- not large, not a lot of shrimp, but they were flavoured with garlicky sauce and very decent. And the potatoes were delicious! I would most definitely recommend this place to other people who are stopping by in Watertown. It's not the best meal you've ever had, but I'd say that it's a solid, decent meal that you would enjoy every once in a while. read more

If there was a way to give no stars, I would! I ordered a beautiful berry salad, and as I was almost finished eating it I saw something moving. It was a pretty good sized green bug, alive! The waitress just shrugged her shoulders and apologized, and the manager took about five minutes to get to our table. We had given up on him and were walking out when he stopped us. He never offered to pay for our meal or let us know a plan of action. He simply just said I am sorry, I do not know how that got past our prep team. This ruins Applebee's for us! read more

Probably the most dirty applebees ive ever been to. Floors hadn't been clean they sat us at the table that had drinks and plates and never wiped down the table just took the plates away. The food was gross, it was dry and just not cooked right. Will not eat here again at this location. read more

My wife and I are in town from CA to visit our daughter, son in law and grandson. We went to Applebees for dinner. They had a few large parties and I believe our order got lost. We we're there enjoying talking to each other so we did not complain. Our waitress and the manager both came over to say how sorry they we're. The manager told us he would be buying some of our food for which we thanked him. At the end of the night he kept his word and more.. He gave us a bill with a zero balance and would not let us pay a dime. Never happens... We are thankful and of course we will be back. A group of friends and myself went to Watertown and felt like grabbing a bite to eat before shopping. The restaurant we were planning on going to didn't open until FOUR and it was only two, so someone suggested the Applebee's that we'd had drinks at last week for happy hour. Now I am not a fan of Applebee's or anything Chili's, TGI Friday's etc. etc. The food is always the same and never impressive. Why did I think this trip would be any different? Our waitress greeted us and got our drinks right away. My boyfriend and I decided to try the 2 meals plus appetizer for $20. I've been seeing the commercials on television for their new pasta dishes and picked the Florentine ravioli with chicken and a side of coleslaw. My bf ordered steak with mashed potatoes and veggies, and we decided on the spinach & artichoke dip for the app. Our friend also ordered the spinach dip and his came out first, he said something about the tortilla chips being way too salty. Of course when our dip came out and we tried it, the chips were literally coated in coarse salt, it looked like the big salt chunks you get on the rim of a margarita glass. I had to actually rub the chips with my fingers to get some of the salt off to eat them, then I had salt covered fingers. The dip was pretty good and the salsa that came with it. Our waitress came back and let us know she was taking her break and that another girl would be taking care of us. A few minutes later our meal came out. My plate looked like I had ordered another appetizer, or maybe a child size lunch. The portion was less than the size of my fist, and there were maybe three or four measly strips of chicken. Bravely, I cut a ravioli in half and a piece of the chicken and took a bite. The chicken had no texture at all, like some processed fake meat that had been microwaved, not grilled. The ravioli tasted of cheese and salt, and after two more bites I realized everything on the plate tasted the same. There was no flavor distinction what so ever, just this weird off taste of salty cheese. I had to put my fork down. I NEVER send my food back unless they mess up the order, and I will usually eat what I pick from a menu because most of the time it tastes half way decent. This dish was just AWFUL. While I mentioned this to my bf our friend overheard us and also claimed his meal was uneatable. When the new waitress came back she asked if she could clear the appetizer plates and I mentioned she could also take my dish. She asked if something was wrong and when I told her the truth, instead of apologizing she actually said, "Really? It's my favorite dish here!" WOW. That is nice and all but either the chef messed up or you are trying to make it sound like my taste buds are off. She asked if I wanted something else made and like a smart person who doesn't want their food spit in I declined and said I was no longer hungry. Instead, I ate my tiny side of coleslaw which thankfully tasted normal, and some of my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and veggies (which also were as bad as my pasta, again they had no separate flavor, just the gross oil they were cooked in, vegetables shouldn't be hard to mess up people!) We all agreed the cook was having a MAJOR crisis and that the only time we would be returning to Applebee's was strictly for a liquid happy hour. Our waitress was decent enough to take the pasta off our bill ( I know it wasn't her fault the dish was bad, she only serves the food) and we left her a nice tip. I think that Applebee's is a great "go-to" restaurant for casual occasions or informal celebrations. The menu is diverse enough to please most tastes. I went with a friend I haven't seen in ages. The noise level was bearable and the hosts and servers were friendly. We ordered from the popular "Two For $25" menu. The entrees came with salads that were fresh and crisp. I had the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. It was literally sizzling hot. The food was very flavorful and yummy. It came with a side of red potato wedges, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My friend had a sirloin steak, which was cooked just as she'd ordered it, medium rare. This came with garlic mashed potatoes and a colorful variety of vegetables. The veggies were not cooked well at all and were left untouched. Other than that, no complaints. read more

Everything here is amazing, its my favorite restaurant and i live coming here! Although i never really fund enough time as it is enjoying applebees its always a wonderful experience! The helpful, kind, and supportive waiters are there in no time flat, the food is wonderful! My personal favorite is the chicken strips with homemade french fries! My husband and I decided to have a take out so we could relax at home. I have seen good reviews so we decided to take a try. We looked at the online menu and then my husband called it in. My husband had medium steak with tavern mushrooms as a topper. With the garlic mash and broccoli. The steak had more fat then meat. The steak was more rare then medium. The potatoes were passable and the broccoli was hard as a rock. To top this meal, it was ice cold. The desert was fine. We only live a short drive so I do not know why this was so cold. I ordered the same as my husband had. The steak was so fatty someone could have trimmed it up but the the steak would have been really small. It was cooked I asked for medium the steak was still mooing when he brought it home. I had the tater tots,and they were smashed and tasted terrible. Broccoli was hard and no seasoning. Quick service our server Michael was awsome maybe if all staff members took a page out of his book maybe your negtive experience might have been better. OMGG!!!! The food here is horrible! I ordered the Steak salad and the dressing was supposed to be ranch with cilantro in it... it tasted like chalk!!! The waitress only came once to check on us. No matter what time of day or week or amount of customers, they simply can not serve fires at room temperature or above. I have no clue why they can't keep food warm from the kitchen to the table, so if I'm with a group and have to go here, I make sure to order a salad because at least that should be cold. read more
