It seems odd to be writing a review about a school, but I have to respond, given the low rating I…read moresee. (There are many positive comments that are not featured at the top, which I don't understand.) The Linden School is simply one of the finest communities that I have ever been part of. The passion and expertise from the faculty is just unmatched. (Seriously: Go to Ratemyteacher and see what kids are saying.) The students achieve incredible things, likely because the teachers are approachable, engaged, and really care about their students' achievements. If a kid (or parent) needs help, the teachers are there for them. The curriculum is interesting, without a lot of emphasis put on textbooks or prepackaged programmes. Teachers listen to students and respond to individual interests and needs. Much of the classroom work is based on real problems, and hands-on activities. This approach seems to be working, as the graduates are articulate, interesting people who go on to do amazing things. There is also an outstanding athletics programme. Although there are no tryouts, the teams still somehow keep winning championship banners! Seriously--the gym is full of them. I can't recommend Linden highly enough. If you're looking for a school where people care about you and where you'll be encouraged to do amazing things, You should consider it.

Instead of being a place of growth and encouragement, the school created an atmosphere of fear, exclusion, and constant judgment. A teacher, Rory consistently singled me out in ways that felt unfair and humiliating. The leadership under the principal, Janice, only made things worse -- the administration fostered an environment that was punitive rather than supportive, and students like me were left feeling isolated and diminished. The impact of this experience has stayed with me long after, which says everything about the culture of this school. I would strongly warn families to reconsider before sending their children here.

The Humber Lakeshore campus is a perfect combination post-war and modern design. The campus is…read morelocated in Mimico in the beautiful Humber Bay area next to the river that it is named after. The entire campus is littered with buildings from different era's that once used to house a mental asylum. While I was attending to do my post-graduate degree there, the rumours of haunted underground tunnels and late night spookiness was rampant amongst the student population. The campus is surrounded by nature and trails that follow the shores of lake Ontario and it's not uncommon for many students to be studying out by the water when the weather is nice. The facilities are limited compared to the North Campus. Since the student body is smaller on this campus, there is a shortage of cafeterias and food halls that are open during the odd hours or those who have really late classes. Parking is also another issue that many students have trouble with since there is very limited paid parking spots and student parking is often located on the other side of campus which is about a 10 minute was from most classes making it an issue in terms of security and health during the cold dark winters. I really did enjoy my time here, the campus is beautiful but I highly recommend looking at offsite food options (there are many in the neighborhood that caters to students with many student discounts available) for those who are staying in the residence halls or attending late night classes.

The Teachers on the other hand are very hit or miss. The good ones are very good, the bad ones are very bad. Both the Principal Jane Lee and one of the vice principals Annamaria Mazzaferro were caught taking photos of both Students and Parents for seemingly no reason. The school needs a new principal and one new vice principal to replace both Ms. Lee and Ms. Mazzaferro. I have also found this school to take little scuffles such as pushing to be a bigger priority then racism.
