Newlonsburg Church Preschool - Almost there just about another 35 minutes

    Newlonsburg Church Preschool

Newlonsburg seemed to be in the win for all categories. The teachers have been absolutely wonderful and manage to consistently stay in communication with the parents. The programs and events they organize for the school shows the amount of care and support they have for these children. My son is thriving here and genuinely looks forward to coming every single week!

In all fairness, I have been voting at this location for the past decade and up to the Primary Elections of 2016 rarely had to wait longer than a few minutes. However since the resurgence of people voting in the past three elections, I have waited in excess of two hours to spend 30 seconds casting my ballot. Let me start with the bad. It's all bad. First you stand in a ridiculously long line that begins all the way down a hill. This line wraps down and around the building. As you wait you are accosted by many strangers and strange politicians wanting to hand you literature while parading around in a "make America white again" hat and giving you "tips" on how and who to vote for. Sorry people drive me nuts. Yea buddy I have been waiting in the cold now for over an hour and it hadn't occurred to me as to what I am doing and who I am going to vote for. This isn't a restaurant, I am not looking for recommendations at this point especially from you so unless you are handing out a deeply needed cup of hot coffee MOVE ON... Once you actually make it through the ridiculous line you are met with the two oldest people in the county that hand write your name into a ledger book. After several attempts of saying and spelling my name, marked with confusion such as Terry? Did you say Mary? Kerri, with a K? No, I said a C. Is that two R's? Yes... Awe finally, now go to the next line... Now the next line you get to locate the person representing the book that contains a range of voters. You know the A-F, G-L, M-R, and so one. Of course my line has a lady who can't be located. I patiently wait because what's another 5 minutes when you have just stood outside in the cold, dark PA weather for the last almost 2 hours. Finally I move up. Report my name, locate it before the volunteer, then sign and take my number to now the last waiting post, my final destination. I wait for another volunteer to take my little number then take me to one of the vacant machines, mind you there were hundreds of people in line, 6 total machines, yet only about 3 being used. I cast my vote and 20 seconds later I am bolting out of there. Long story short, get out and vote, just not in my over registered under staffed precinct. I think all these "coming out of the wood work voters" should step up and volunteer. I bet a lot of them have tons of free time on their hands while posting hate messages on-line in their basements. 3 Stars cause the church is probably a great church and this review shouldn't reflect them negatively.

I cannot say enough AMAZING things about this preschool & the teachers. We have been with Miss…read moreColleen & her girls (Miss Caylin & Miss Malinda) for two years and will continue to be with her for the next two years. They are such genuine, sweet, kind hearted people who bend over backwards to ensure these children get the best education and receive the love and nurturing they deserve. From the beginning their communication has always been TOP NOTCH! Not only do they communicate with you through calls, texts, but they even give the classes a Facebook page that not only helps you communicate with them but helps the parents build a community to share things, help each other out, etc. I know this year was a transition year as Colleen just purchased the preschool and I must say I heard a couple of parents who were with the school prior to Colleen make not so nice comments about her or the school and I just don't understand how. I don't know how the school was operated prior to this year but I personally can't see how it could have been any better. These teachers plan so many events for the kids such as parties (Halloween, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.), 2 Field Trips, a Class Picnic, and so much more! They truly give their heart and soul to these kids and for what the preschool costs compared to others; they don't stand to make much of anything which tells you just how much they do this from the heart. If you are looking for a preschool for your toddlers, I can't even express how HIGHLY I recommend this school and the team of teachers to all parents out there. They are by far the best and I've already cried twice knowing that this school year is coming to an end, and I am halfway through my time with them.

They put their hearts and souls into all of their students and it really shows. They do so much for their student! From field trips to Freedom Farms in the fall and Living Treasures in the spring, to holiday parties throughout the year! A Christmas program that absolutely melts everyone's heart! I can't thank these three teachers enough for how much they have taught my kids and got them both ready to start kindergarten! This is the best preschool ever!

    The Glen Montessori School

    The Glen Montessori School

In the world of education, where nurturing young minds is paramount, the recent actions of Glen…read moreMontessori stand as a glaring example of negligence and disregard for both two prospective students and our family. The administration and teachers of Glen Montessori have demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism and compassion, turning what should have been a hopeful transition into a nightmarish ordeal for two qualified students and their dedicated parents. Maria Montessori herself once said, "The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind." It is with a heavy heart that I must highlight how far Glen Montessori has strayed from this ideal. Two weeks before the school year was set to commence, this school denied contracts to two well-qualified students whose family had gone above and beyond in their commitment. Despite the expense and stress of traveling back and forth from out of state on multiple occasions for interviews and a tour, and receiving nothing but positive feedback from the school throughout the past year, our family was abruptly informed that the students would not be admitted. The circumstances surrounding this decision are nothing short of disgraceful. While it may be the right of any private school to reject prospective students, the school administration's refusal to provide a clear explanation or even return communications regarding their denial is both unprofessional and unethical. This review will have to serve as our closure. It is a deeply disappointing display of incompetence and insensitivity that has left the students with scant options for appropriate education in their new state, just as they are about to face significant transitions in environment and culture. In the words of Maria Montessori, "The greatest sign of success for a teacher is to be able to say, 'The children are now working as if I did not exist.'" Instead of embodying this ideal of fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, Glen Montessori has chosen to operate with a disconcerting lack of transparency and empathy. The frustration experienced by our family cannot be overstated. We trusted Glen Montessori to provide our children with an environment that values and nurtures their potential. Instead, we have been met with an administration that is seemingly indifferent to the impact of its actions. It is truly shameful and unexpected that a school purporting to uphold the values of the Montessori method would fall so egregiously short. I urge prospective parents to consider these grave missteps when evaluating their educational choices. The failure of Glen Montessori to honor its commitments and communicate effectively reveals a profound disregard for the very principles it claims to champion. We are happy for other families who may have had much better experiences than we were offered. God bless them and forgive them for what ensued but we are confident that this may have saved us from some unbeknownst tragedy that may have occurred to our children while under their "care."

They are so clumsy and non transparent. 4yrs back we took our 2.5yrs old shy and non English speaking child for their interview at this school. We were later informed that the spot has been taken and we cant get in. When we fought back asking for explanation why they interviewed us if the spot had been taken? They apologized and "qualified" my daughter to attend their 3-6yrs program. My son has been attending their birth-3yrs program last couple of years and be 3 soon. Last month we are hearing that our child is not ready to move to next class 3-6yrs in fall while they also wnt keep him in his current classroom few extra months after he turn 3yrs till he "qualifies". I have never heard of such a thing where a daycare kicks a toddler out unless the child is showing violent behavior like hitting kids, teacher, using foul language, damaging and breaking their property and refuses to follow rules, things of that nature.. Our child is none of that. All this time it was never communicated to us that there are such great concerns in his development. Last year we started questioning their policies on masking everyone 2yrs and older in school. We requested the school to provide transparent masks to teachers and make exemptions if the toddlers 2-3yrs old who are showing delays. They didnt accomodate any of our request nor addressed them with valid reaponse. They didn't like parents questioning the rules they make and are acting narcissistic. Because of us fighting for our child rights now our son is getting kicked out with invalid and made up excuses. The school has no moral or ethics. The school head is explaining to us that they 'don't want to work with us-parents', which is fine. But how could they put it all on my 2yr old child and say he didn't qualify to move or even continue there a bit longer? Such discrimination!!
