I purchased dryer that did not work not working as it takes about 2-3 loads to dry they told me to clean my vents which I did and they were clean and clear. I had called before I went in and they had said that I would be able to exchange it with one of same value so I drove there and wasted my time and gas for them to give me their whole no we have to test it and they did and said no it works and I can't exchange it. When clearly I would not be making a big deal out of this if it didn't dry, I literally have to dry it from 2 to 3 loads. That's three hours for my clothes to dry!!! They waisted my time and efforts and I paid $170 for something that doesn't work!!!! Im stuck with a dryer that don't work at all!!!!! Thanks for nothing!!!!!! They offer a warranty with them and if you bring back your broken ones, they will extend the warranty for a year. You cannot get this type of reliability from buying used in the classifieds. I guess new employees make a big difference because I have been buying appliances from these guys for my rentals for about 5 years now and while previous employees were rude and did not offer good service, Almendra and Tony are great to deal with, very honest, and always try to help. I have not had a problem with them or any of the appliances I have bought but for a fridge that was not working properly which they exchanged for me right away. I know that having to pick up and deliver can be a hassle, but if what they have fits your needs, then what you save on your appliances makes up for that. read more

This place is horrible. Avoid at all costs. Appliances come with a 30 day warranty promising they'll either fix it or replace it, but it's a load of crap. We bought a washing machine, brought it home, it didn't work. It took us a few weeks to arrange finding a way to transport it back. They said they'd fix it, it took them over a week, and then we had to arrange again to borrow a truck to come and pick it up. We brought it back home, and it STILL HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. Whatever they did to "fix" it (if they even did anything) didn't work whatsoever. Frustrated, we called, explained the situation, and asked if they could arrange for transportation this time as this would be the fourth time we'd have to move it and this time it was because they had not upheld their end of the warranty. We also explained it was very difficult for us to arrange the help loading it down from our condo and finding a way to transport it. They said that wasn't part of the warranty and refused to help. So a few days later of trying to find moving help yet again, we resorted to paying for a U-Haul rental. We drove the dang washer back to their store again, and this time asked if we could choose a replacement instead of having them "fix it" again. Two out of the three workers we spoke with were completely rude, demeaning and unhelpful. Zero customer service etiquette. We looked around their shop again, and they didn't have any washers the same price as our original, so we had to pay them more money for the replacement (I personally thought they should have forgiven the extra $25 for all the inconveniences they put us through, but I guess business is business). When I asked if we could get a new warranty document for the new washer, THEY REFUSED. They said we were already past the 30 days from the original day we bought the first washer, so we were lucky they were even allowing us to get a replacement today. I explained that seemed unreasonable -- we initially brought the broken washer back within the time limit, and they didn't uphold their own warranty by giving us back an unfixed appliance. What would we do if we took this new one and it had the same problem? Or a different problem? He very rudely told me that it wouldn't matter, they wouldn't do anything about it. So if this new washer doesn't work, we've lost all the money we paid them and still have no working washer, and there's nothing we could have done differently to better honor the warranty. I don't often write about poor service. I often try to believe that maybe these employees were just having a bad day and I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I have found with Appliance Exchange of Utah - Orem location that the staff seems completely ambivalent to customers having an issue. I purchased a 2 year warranty on my refrigerator, not even 1 year ago. A couple of weeks ago, my refrigerator started having some problems keeping the food cold. I live in Salt lake City but the Orem location of this company is very close to my workplace in Orem so I stopped by to ask them about warranty service on my fridge. With a total lack of customer service, I was told that I would need to deliver the fridge to them as they did not provide any technicians in the field. This was frustrating but I have a truck and I loaded up my truck today with my fridge. I laid the fridge gently on it's side to transport it more safely in my truck from Salt Lake to Orem. I waited for 20 minutes in front of their Orem location waiting for the store to open. I then went inside as the 2 smug employees saw me outside but just stayed behind their desk. The male employee told me that because I laid the fridge on its side that it voids the warranty. Now, I am becoming very frustrated with the general attitude and lack any customer service. I unloaded the fridge and asked them to at least look at the fridge to see if it can be repaired. I have waited all day for someone to call me and let me know what is happening. When no one called, I phoned them and was snidely told that they would not look at the fridge until tomorrow, guess because of the compressor. If they would have simply explained to me at the time of drop off that they would need to let the unit sit for 24 hours because of the compressor, I would have been totally fine with that. I would not recommend Appliance Exchange of Utah - Orem. Their customer care is NON-EXISTENT. There are a lot of great people out there looking for jobs that could do a far better job than the staff at this location is doing. Come on Appliance Exchange of Utah - Do better! So - As a follow up on this terrible experience with this "so-called" company. Their employees just called me (20 minutes after posting my original review). They were very angry that I had posted this review. They told me to come pick up my broken down refrigerator and that they would not fix it or honor the additional money that I paid for in getting 2 years of warranty. Keep in mind that this fridge is not even 1 year old and it clearly shows the lack of professionalism in this company and its employees. This is a complete failure for them as any kind of a trusted and reputable service provider. We went and bought a fridge on Saturday and they said we could pick up within 5 days and since they don't offer their own delivery we had to borrow a truck and came back 3 days later. As they loaded it in the truck my husband noticed it looked alittle different and he asked if they were sure this was ours and they said yes but he could look in the back if he didn't think so. They acted very weird and sure enough it wasn't ours and they knew it before loading it on our truck! They accidentally let the third party delivery they use to take ours to the wrong people the day before and we're going to try and slide it by us hoping we did not notice it wasn't ours. my husband had to wait for the owner to get there to verify that that wasn't ours and the owner knew right away that they had delivered it to the wrong address and he had already talk to those people who were happy with the fridge that we had purchased. He said he was giving us a newer model, but this model was more beat up and scratched and dented than the one we had purchased so ultimately dissatisfied they did take $100 off and we took the dented one, but for them to try and sneak a fast one without saying anything is ridiculous and for us to get a newer more beat up model then the one we had already paid for is just unprofessional. We purchased a washer. We also purchased the two year warranty, luckily, because one year later, it is making some weird noises. On the warranty paperwork, it states that we will need to bring it in for repairs. It's fine because that's what we agreed to, but still kind of a pain. We will have to take work off now to take it in and then more time off to pick it back up once repairs are complete. We don't have a truck but we have family who does, so we will also have to ask them to help. It would be nice if they offered repairmen to come take a look or to pick it up. But the price was low and it's worked great for a year, so I guess I can't really expect more! read more

Bought a washer back in July 2018 for my cabin, a vacation home. Used it to wash linen and clothes after our stay, the machine worked fine. We revisited a couple months later in October. That's when our washer did not spin, had a burning smell, and leaked from the bottom. Understanding the 2 year warranty, we brought the machine back to be repaired. Picked it up and worked fine after a load. Couple months later I came back in January 2019, same broken issue. I couldn't fathom how a machine breaks down twice in six months especially since it's rarely used. I vented my frustration to the manager and staff. They have the worst customer service, it's disappointing how this manager deals with situations. Attitude from the moment we spoke. Left that place fuming and dissatisfied. I do not recommend this store at all. The owner followed my husband and I around and got impatient when we took a bit to figure out what we wanted. He even rolled his eyes! One of the dryers we looked at stank so bad that he sent it back to be deodirezed- so much for their technicians who check everything before it goes to the floor. The owner repeatedly said that everything is "100% guaranteed" to work. Well those words fell flat when the washer we bought did not work adequately (the slow spin setting is zero functioning and the high speed barely works). Again, so much for the technicians who check everything. This would have been ok except we would have to rent a truck to get it to the store and then again to get it back- just to get something that left the store broken sorted out (really frustrating). When I called the store to ask if they could try and help me to not have to rent a truck twice (get it done same day) the manager was so rude! Truthfully I was frustrated when I called, but I was not rude. He interrupted me multiple times and got defensive. He said that what I said was irrelevant and that I should have done research and known that they are second hand - in other words I should have been smarter than to believe what the owner of the store said. When I thanked him for his time and said I hope he have a good day - he just hung up. So if you buy something fully functional then this is a great store in terms of price but if like me, you pick something out that does not work when you get home - buckle up for the worst customer service combined with the hassle of getting it to the store. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS unless you intend to have the very unpleasant experience of demanding they honor their "warranty". First let's break it down as to how they operate. : they acquire used appliances traded in to major box stores, they get them for practically nothing ; that's why they have the big truckS . They haul all this crap from the big box stores to display in their stores .(2) they claim they "test" their inventory before offering it for sale . Here is the problem: let's take a refrigerator for example it takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks for a refrigerator defroster heater to fail . In other words "freeze up" so the unit no longer cools properly . These folks Admittedly test the refrigerator 7 to 14 days. One cant expect the defroster heater to fail within that period of time and by all logical observance the refrigerator "works" If you make the mistake of not "trading in your old refrigerator to obtain the one-year warranty you can expect zero response from this company. They do not have a service man and they do not offer to pick up your appliance for repair or replacement. I paid good money for a refrigerator. I was unable to return my old refrigerator for credit against the "one year warranty" . I was unable to install the newly bought unit for about 60 days . when I did install it it cooled for approximately 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and then I noticed the temperature dropping. Finally after about 30 days I noticed the refrigerator not refrigerating at all there by ruining all of my food. The freezer completely failed a few days later there by thawing out all of my food and making a mess . These people sell garbage! Really units that should be scrapped . I had a service man out at 85.00 and he quoted a 659.00 repair in a 15 year old unit !! Obviously that's stupid so I went down to Home Depot and found a $2300 unit that was being marked down to $897 I bought an additional two year warranty for $120 and installed it. if you like buying garbage go over there and give them your money. Although the price is right save yourself the hassle and go buy new ones. Their customer service is TERRIBLE!!!! although they have a warranty it is only an in-store warranty which means you have to get the appliances there to fix. Yes you can rent a truck for 40 bucks and get it there yourself, But for all of you single moms out there with kids that can't do it or afford the $100 moving fee each time it has an issue, but fair warning if it comes home with a new issue from the issues supposedly "fixed" they will make you pay another $100 to get it there costing just as much as you paid for the machine itself. Don't buy from these jokers! They don't backup their appliances and their so called technical inspection has absolutely no merit. Purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer from these guys and had to lay the fridge down to get it home. They told me it would void the warranty if I laid the fridge down. I knew that laying down the fridge allows the compressor oil the drain into the coiling coils, but once the fridge is upright the oil will drain back into the compressor and the fridge will operate just fine. So with the big covid-19 issue we we're stocking up on food and needed an additional fridge. Filled the newly purchased fridge with all kinds of fresh food, fruit and drinks. Once the fridge was plugged in it didn't stop running. It froze solid both top and middle shelves and ruined all the food. I tried turning down the temperature, but the fridge just kept on running. I called an appliance repair service guy and he said it's probably the thermostat which is $80 plus service call which would be more than I paid for the so called **ALL UNITS HAVE BEEN TESTED BY A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN** stated from their KSL Add. Call the place where I bought it and explain the situation and they said it's mine now sense I voided the warranty. I said explain to me how laying down the fridge broke the thermostat? He said it didn't matter the warranty was void when you laid it down. I asked him if he would work with me and it was a hard no as we were both getting loud at this point. Had to hang up on the illiterate clown as he explained how they have been in business for 30 years. I arrived at the location and the customer service was immediately terrible. I felt like me being there was a burden to the employee at the desk (who was also the only employee around). I picked my washer and dryer and was informed that if I wanted delivery and install, I would have to call their in-house guy for a quote (another example of bad customer service). I called and the man was very abrasive and also made me feel like I was a huge burden on him. He gave me the quote and then said he would deliver it first thing the next morning which he didn't do. I called and texted him the whole day and he finally replied saying he would deliver it that night. So unprofessional!! When it was FINALLY installed, I ran a load of laundry and it broke on the second load!! We called and they said that we would have to bring it back ourselves in order for them to fix it. Great customer service right? So we exhausted our resources and got it back to the store just for them to say it was "fine" and didn't fix anything!! They also didn't bother to call us to tell us it was ready for pickup. I told him which washer and dryer I was interested in and he tried pushing me to buy a set that was probably 30 years old so he could hurry up and leave. After wasting 35 minutes of my time with hardly any help from an employee, I was rushed out the door while being told "we have kids we need to get home to" This was at 6:10, they close at 6.
