Sadly, every other place that was a national chain was out - and the problem with appliance parts on Amazon is that if you have an issue, it is one of those "oh crap, it's wrong." On a whim, I Googled around, found Aeraci.com and called their office in Brownsville, but that was closed due to COVID so they were working out of their main office only in Los Fresnos - a scant 15 minute drive, and after speaking with Mary on the phone (a consummate professional, kind, and thorough) who was clearly handling phones ringing off the hook. I have spent my time working in commercial appliance sales, so I know how hard Mary was having it at 4:00PM in the afternoon, as it seems their smaller satellite offices were having all phones route to them, and she was juggling incoming calls from much bigger fish than me - though she was thorough, diligent and had my GE part and it was on my way to grab the part. I explained that I had to get gas, I may be cutting it close, though she offered to stay open if I needed. All of this was unnecessary as I had made it in good time, with getting gas, and the small shop was one of those small town gems that you love - simple, to the point, and highly functional. You could easily tell that their business - definitely of the counter-style appliance part variety - was more centralized on commercial B2B though the friendliness, kindness, and sharp nature of Mary at the front was one that welcomed even the DYI crowd. The transaction was speedy and I was most pleased they sold water and chips old-school small town style, and it was fun to support local businesses like this - especially for appliance parts and repair in an era where the larger Lowe's and Home Depots of the world overrun places like Aeraci.com though they cannot replace the care, expertise, and speed. Plus, with folks like Mary manning the desk, any HVAC repairman, handyman, DIY-er will be confident that Aeraci.com has the parts, expertise, or added repair help to get the job done. While I was not able to take advantage of their extensive repair services, I can guarantee everyone in the Rio Grande Valley this - you will be in good hands with Aeraci.com for all your appliance repair needs - large to small, A/C to Refrigerator - the folks at Aeraci.com have it handled. Estimate was $30 and they told me what was wrong with it , and quoted $325 to have it fixed . I agreed . They gave me a date of pickup and called that morning to make sure . I was told that the tv needed to be brought back to the shop because it had been moved because of flooding due to heavy rains (?). I dropped by later that afternoon . My tv was on display at the shop and right away noticed there was a black horizontal line across the screen , (prior to taking it in, the picture was never an issue-it's a new Brand name TV). I point it out to owner/ clerk and she tells me that if I want it fixed it will be an additional $250 .i point out that that line was not there prior and her response was that "oh the main board was also in need of replacing ." I don't think they know how giving an estimate works , and even then , I have my suspicions that the Tv was dropped or got wet during transport . YOU HAVE BEEN WARN - Owner claimed on Yahoo reviews that he contacted me and informed me on weather situation mentioned above . That is not true . I called the business, (not them contacting me), on a Wednesday and informed them that I would pick up the TV as soon as inclement weather passed . I casually asked if tv was repaired and was told "YES" and again , casually asked for total ,($325). NEVER was there a mention of any other issue with the TV. In fact , I was told that it was ready for pickup . In addition , just to backup my suspicions, I have been informed ,firsthand ,that then plaza area businesses where Planet TV is located had about 1 foot of water after the flood inside . I decided to fix tv on my own based somewhat on theirs estimate and found my tv was gutted and replaced with parts that don't even go with This tv. After I removed back lid, power supply is floating connected to nothing because original power board was removed (assuming tv would never be opened ). Shame shame . Good parts were removed and replaced with old scratched unmatching parts even labeled "planet tv." See you on small claims court .

He gave me a pre-printed price list and showed me what each step would cost. He also explained that the holes in the flex ducts were small enough to patch rather than having to be replaced. I attempted to get 2 more quotes, however the first company wanted to charge me $90.00 just to have their tec come out to make the quote. The second company sent someone out, but he would not give me a quote until I got an inspection. That was going to cost $280.00. Of course I called Pinkertons and we set a date for him to come and do the work. He and his helper showed up on time, did the work in a timely manner and told me the worh was guaranteed for a year. I asked if his company provided other services, and we discussed some other items I had on my to do list. I will hire them again an highly recommend them. When I got it back, they had failed to put all of the screws and protective guards back inside my phone. Because of their negligence, my phone was damaged further, and now I'm stuck having to buy a completely new phone. I called to explain what happened and asked if they could make it right, whether by fixing their mistake or at least offering a partial refund. Instead, I was met with poor customer service and was told no. What made the experience even worse was that the employee seemed completely unwilling to help once she realized we were tourists. It felt like we were dismissed because we weren't local customers. A reputable repair shop should stand behind its work and take responsibility when they make a mistake. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. Save yourself the frustration and take your business somewhere else.
