I had already checked the price of the part necessary to fix my dishwasher,…read morewhich was about $75, when I contacted VL appliance through Yelp. VL told me the part would have to be ordered specially (although it is actually available, off the shelf from two local sources) and they quoted nearly $300 more than the actual cost of the part. After this review was sent in, someone from VL contacted me, and sent a link to the part which they were quoting. The price they gave was right for the part, but it was the wrong part (by this point, the correct part has been acquired and installed), and would not work for my dishwasher. So there are three possibilities: 1) It was a simple mistake (if VL double-checked before creating a quote, the problem would have been avoided) 2) VL is incompetent at finding and installing the right part 3) VL was going to install the correct, cheaper part and charge me for the wrong, expensive part Obviously I don't know which of the scenarios is correct, but even the first one, simple human error, unchecked, might disqualify VL from being the repair service of choice.
