I could write a book about the horrible experience's I have had with Apria "Healthcare". All I can say is that they seem to purposely try to make your experience with them as unpleasant as possible. I have never, in my 64 times going around the sun, been ignored, lied to and neglected by a company. I have been told I would be getting a call back (and not) so many times that I have lost count. I have decided to buy my CPAP supplies off Amazon and lose what my insurance would pay, then have to deal with Apria "Healthcare". It's almost like they are trying as hard as they possibly can to be incompetent and neglectful. I wish I could go back to Norco! Zero stars read more

When comes to providing services APRIA is a bad joke for remote areas like Omak. I also have had numerous problems with both the main APRIA office and the one in Yakima. They have said they'd be out to deliver or pick-up devices and were a no show....no subsequent call to explain or reschedule. When I called to find out what happened I got sucked into the APRIA call transfer maze and put on hold several times. When I did get a person they were either no help at all, or made promises they didn't keep. My advice....stay the hell away from APRIA....both services and devices. Your life will be a whole lot simpler not having to deal with their lack of proficiency and terrible phone system. read more

I finally am coming to the end of my almost comically outrageous story about my dealings with Apria Healthcare in Yakima. I had been trying since December 28th to get Apria Healthcare in Yakima to help me get a replacement for a broken CPAP machine that was still under manufacturers warranty. The warranty was confirmed by Phillips Respironics (manufacturer of my CPAP) from the serial number on my machine. I had tried all sorts of things to try to get a replacement without dealing with Apria and it turns out Phillips Respironics will not deal with customers directly to replace faulty machines. They deal only with authorized dealers such as Apria. I tried to return my machine through another dealer and they ended up telling me I needed to go through Apria in Yakima and that it was their responsibility to send it back to Phillips Respironics. I was stuck with this horrible company. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Washington State Consumer Protection Division without getting any calls from Apria to negotiate or help me out. Finally, in desperation, I called the Kaiser Permanente complaint line at 1-888-774-9100. I had purchased the original CPAP machine at Apria through Group Health, which is now called Kaiser Permanente. Group Health had contracted with Apria to do all of it's CPAP business. Kaiser is still contracting with Apria do do it's CPAP business. I was very surprised when on March 2nd, I got a call from Claudia at Yakima Apria, who told me I could bring my CPAP machine in and they would send it to Phillips Respironics for repair or replacement! I rushed down and dropped off my broken CPAP because I had nothing to lose. When I arrived back home, I got another phone call from a Kaiser Permanente representative who was very interested in my story and said he had made some phone calls to Apria Yakima that day. Mmmm, I think Apria was a little scared about their status with Kaiser Permanente. I rented another CPAP from another company at my own expense and began my wait and I waited and waited and waited. I won't detail the entire ordeal, but I will give you a summary of what happened over the next 7 weeks. First off, Apria did not even start to work on figuring out where to mail my machine until 6 business days later. Then they mailed it to the wrong place. I called at that point to see if they might pay for the second months rent for my rental CPAP machine and Jessica, branch manager for Apria, icily told me that they will NOT pay for my rental and she needs to find out how they got the wrong address. In a later message to me, she triumphantly declares that it was Phillips Respironics fault they had sent the CPAP to the wrong address and that the CPAP has now arrived at the correct repair place, as if this somehow makes up for the fact that I had been trying SINCE DECEMBER 28th to get help from them and it was now March 29th. And, why didn't they already know where to send broken CPAP's? Is this the first one they ever tried to send back????? And why was I being treated like I was the problem when all I wanted was to have my CPAP machine still under warranty repaired or replaced? After many phone calls, I finally picked up a new CPAP machine (still in the plastic packaging) from Apria Yakima on April 18th, nearly 4 months after I started. No receipt was given and no orientation to my new, different machine was offered. So, the lesson I learned from all this is to avoid Apria Yakima at all costs and if you are forced to deal with them for insurance reasons, call your insurance company early and often to deal with any problems that may come up. read more

I had used my insurance to obtain a new style of cpap mask through Apria. I tried to use the mask for about a week, but the new style was definitely not comfortable (rubbed raw spots on my face & felt like I was not getting air) and I called Apria to see if I could exchange it. I was told that I was not able to exchange it for the old style and if I wanted to purchase one out of pocket I could. Or I could come in for a complimentary fitting. It was not the fitting of the mask that was the problem as I had already been through a fitting at the doctor's office. I told the lady that it didn't seem right that after only trying a new style for a week that I would be unable to go back to the old style. I was then asked what my ideal solution would be. ????? I again stated I would like to exchange it for the old style. I was informed sorry, that is not possible, and again informed that I could purchase one out of pocket. Which, because my deductible is so high, ended up being out of pocket anyway. I then received my bill, promptly paid it, and began receiving threats of being turned over to collections. I ignored it (this was dumb on my part & I do not advise this!) and about 8 months later I receive a refund of $4.65. read more
