Visited APT 503 last night and it was amazing!! This place is a well-oiled machine and here's why: 1. I forgot to reserve a table for my friend's birthday (as I promised my friend I would a month ago), but APT 503 worked with me to accommodate my late request. 2. Because I had mentioned that we were celebrating my friend's bday, the manager went above and beyond and helped me plan the surprise cake/bday singing. Not only did the employees store the cake and bring it out, but they also gave my friend a "birthday diva" sash! Thanks so much to Jimmie and the team. 3. They were having a BushMill special outside aka free whiskey shots! 4. The DJ's playlist was on point!! Danced the night away! Came here for a special event so it was especially packed with people that night so I can't say for sure the service was just a little backed up but my friends and I still had a fun night dancing and hanging out in the open deck area where there's an actual gazebo. I ordered a white rabbit which had St. Germaine and gin topped with whipped cream and a real orchid. It's very photogenic with decorated walls in each room. I was a little nervous going here because of all the different reviews........ but I thoroughly enjoyed my time here with my friends. First of all, no cover!! Second, it's such an easy process getting onto the guest list and not complicated getting in. Third, super spacious which I love because I hate being pushed against other bodies. In addition, the bartender was super chill and I don't usually order special cocktails, but the Black Dahlia was soooo good and the other one that gets lit (fired?) up. A promoter got us in and he was very very rude the entire night with no provocation because there wasn't as many of us as he expected, even though the entire "nightclub" legitimately had approximately twenty people so that the space felt way too empty and creepy. This place looks like it's still at it's early stages where it hasn't established a "vibe" yet. Line is a mix of Korean and Caucasian hip hop lovers, Breakroom 86 is old-school music lovers, and Apt 305 is... idk... all young-looking people? I celebrated my birthday here with a table and it everything I wanted it to be! It was a perfect birthday ^_^ I wanted to celebrate at a place like Line but not Line...and 503 had everything and more. The venue is air conditioned really well and even has a huge patio space outside for people to socialize and chill. Emailing them is the way to go for organizing your guest list and/or getting a table. They responded super fast to all my questions and everything panned out smoothly from start to end. I got the table with the pink bench by the window which came with a DAMN nice view and to my surprise, our space was very large and spacious. I highly recommend the pink bench table!! It was huge, had a great view, and was right next to the bar and close to the DJ booth. The table came with a large bottle and a whole freakin' FOOD TOWER with tacos, fried chicken, fries, and yummy dessert. They even let my bf bring in a cake so I could blow out candles :3 Checking in, the bouncers and the check-in lady were really nice and organized. I initially had worries of not being able to get all 40 of my guests in, but everyone was able to get in with no issues at all. Some friends even arrived at 11pm and only took them 5-10 min at most. And CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE MUSIC??? They played a mix of old school and modern day R&B tunes and hip hop and it really sets a good vibe all around. What sets Apt 503 apart from your typical bar is its intimacy -- it accepts only people on the guest list (you have to email them about a week before attending to be granted entry), which keeps its total number of patrons on any given night small, and it's designed to look like the interior of a doll house. The place is filled with picture perfect corners -- a whiteboard in the shape of a cloud with rearrangeable magnetized letters, an area that looks like a shower area with its own clear shower curtain, an umbrella cartoon you could stand under...the list goes on. There's also an outdoor area with a pretty little white gazebo. If you're looking for a night out at a cute, hip bar, this is the place to be. On bottle service: it comes with a triple-tiered tray of finger foods such as mini sandwiches and fries. Music is on point, you'll be singing along all night like we were :) this venue is very aesthetically pleasing with the different charicature-like walls, definitely lots of fun for selfies and group pics (and boomerangs!) their signature cocktails are also very good! I had absolutely nothing to do on a Friday night until my friend hit me up for a birthday celebration at Apt 503. I was hesitant of going because I had to RSVP so last minute. I hate doing things late, but I didn't have a problem getting my name down and adjusting my guest list. I had a total of 6 people (me, my boyfriend, three homegirls, and one of their +1's). I had a dreadful feeling that we wouldn't get in because we had barely left San Gabriel Valley for K-Town at around 11PM -- yeah, our work hours are pretty whack. Fortunately, the line was still open (empty too) and they let us pass through. Just an fyi: the entrance is sandwiched between the parking structure and this multi-use building. Clearly, it's on the 5th floor. I'm not much of a club-goer / bar hopper / lounge lizard anymore because (a) I love sleeping and (b) the club is where you go to get yo man TOOK, but what I can say with full appreciation is that I had a great first-time experience. The decor is awesome -- and it's crystal clear it was made for people who want to have a good time + take selfies along the way. The artwork and layout is designed in a way that it lends this type of house party feel. And what's a house party without hip hop? The big cherry on top are the damn throwbacks though. Y'all remember when your anthem was On the Hotline by Pretty Ricky? For you millennials out there -- before there was sexting, there was phone boning. And that's exactly what this song was all about! Drink prices are pretty standard, but I was pretty tipsy after just two drinks. It pays to be a light-weight Asian. Oh, and smokers? There's a patio. Praise be. Apparently this is the new spot to go to in Ktown now. I've been here twice and had a good time! PROS: - Doesn't get over packed. I haven't been shoulder to shoulder with anyone both times I was here (unlike LINE, where you're just packed like sardines). - Drinks are good! I had their Black Dahlia, substitute Vodka for Whiskey. Prices are average, I believe anywhere from $12-15 a drink? - Throwback jams for dayzzz. Perfect for anyone who isn't a huge fan of EDM. They play hip hop/pop from 90s-2000s - POPCORN CHICKEN IS SO GOOD. Also fries are bomb. This was a lifesaver when I didn't have much to eat but wanted to drink more.. and then voila popcorn chicken + fries I'm in heaven. CONS: - It's located inside a Korean wedding banquet hall. Very unflattering standing in line under this bright light. If you've pregamed and have asian glow, you'll be standing in line looking like Hellboy for the next 15min. - Need to guest list day before. I'm always skeptical about going out in LA because parking is terrible and I always have a mediocre time. Needless to say, Apt 503 lived up exactly to my expectations with the exception that they're right next to a parking garage (conveniency!) Entrance was a bit tricky, given that its inside a commercial building on the fifth floor (503, duh). Enter in between the building and said parking garage then take elevator up. As soon as your exit the elevator, there's a guest list line and walk-in line. Not sure if friends and I came on an off night or the place is usually not poppin but we got in swiftly via guestline and there was no one in the walk-in line. the decor is cutesy and gives off vibes of a french cafe tea party lounge. lots of different spaces for photo opp if you're about that instagram life. floor plan is unusual since kitchen and main bar are right in the middle -essentially creating two different spaces. 1) main dance area with main bar, 2) lounge area literally on the other side with couches, mini bar to the side, and speakers projecting music from main dance area - extends to an outdoor area with more lounge spaces, room to breath and have conversations. drinks were pricey for my liking but adequately priced for such a space. $11 shot, $10 (?) well-drink. my gin & tonic was perfect the first time and much stronger the second time. had a couple of sips of my friend's drink special black dahlia -nothing too special, did look nice tho haha. the general demographic that night was your run of the mill *~*aZnS*~* with sprinkled in black, white, latino patrons. im not a fan of overwhelming asian patrons (and no, not cus i have internalized racism) but if you are a fan, this is your go-to spot! people were generally nice and folks seemed open to meeting strangers, given a couple of randos started conversations with me -then again, maybe just my introverted tendencies tho overall, apt 503 tries to play it upscale but falls short. music was ok, but definitely could have been better. at one point, they were projecting random music videos that were not what was being played. read more

Theres was no toilet paper, toilet seat covers, or paper towels in the mens bathroom. I told two different guy staff members and they just laughed. Its been 2 hours and it's still not refilled. First of all, to get into this bar you need to get on guestlist. If your not on guestlist you can't get in. This place is located on the firth floor in some building. Its quite small but very cute. Its a perfect place to take pictures at but best to do it earlier since this place does get pretty packed. The bar located near the entrance takes awhile to get to you since there only one bartender, it seems, and gets quite busy. There another bar located more near the dance floor, which you can get your drinks faster. The drinks are fairly priced. Almost 12-15$ a cocktail drink. The one thing I really love about this place is the music and their big outdoor patio. Its nice and refreshing with plenty of chairs and tables to sit around. The dance floor is quite small but doable. Overall, drinks were okay. The atmosphere and people were nice and chill, no random creepers. Music was pretty good! I felt incredibly uncomfortable when a girl had stayed in the bathroom too long and a "male authority figure" entered the bathroom as I waited for the other stall. Then two more men (security guards) came inside. I told the male authority figure that you're making me uncomfortable that you're in here and completely ignored me. I've seen at other establishments that they get a female or stand just outside the door. I wouldn't come back again because of this. This place is a complete joke. They advertise this place as a super exclusive, invite-only venue for "friends" but rather, it's full of pretentious people who puff up their chest and power-trip because they're part of the newest spot in Ktown. Once you enter into the main building, there's a line to get into a line to get into a line. Is that really necessary? You're not Vegas, nor will you ever be so stop wasting people's time and get it right from the get-go. I swear, that night all I kept hearing in my head was security guards screaming "MOVE TO THE RIGHT!" all night long. To be honest, I wasn't going to write this review until I read through a few other reviews and saw the douchebaggery rebuttals coming from an Apt 503 "roommate." Take a look for yourselves. Rather than owning up to the flaws and inconsistencies of the establishment's policies and procedures, the "roommate" goes on the defense, belittling former patrons for their lack of recognition and respect for the space/music. And sadly enough, they're only going to use these negative comments not to improve upon themselves, but to become even more pretentious than they already are. Eat a slice of humble pie, roommates, and remember where you came from. Came here last night and did not have a great experience, mostly due to the workers. We got to the front, there was a group of 8 people. I asked if there was a cover charge. She said there wasn't, which was even better for me. But she said that we could only get in by being on the guest list (it was 11:30pm at the time) or by buying a table. Keep in mind that there was no line. So we asked honestly if it was crowded or if there was a lot of ppl inside. They lied straight to our face. So we were like okay, we'll get a table. The moment we get in, it's completely empty. I'm not talking about like 50% filled, but more like 20% of total capacity. This place could fill like 300-400 ppl. There was like 50 ppl there on a Friday night. So I guess this place is not popular/fun/attractive as all the other people seem to think. We weren't mad about the cost but more so about what they told us. Look we don't care what we were paying to get in (hence getting a table), but you don't need to lie to us. In fact we wanted to send one of our friends in to check it out before getting a table, but they wouldn't let us. We got there, got our table and bottle. The server was nice and the decor looked great, but that was about it for my experience. But, the hostess and bouncer? They lied straight to our face and after we left (not long after getting our table and leaving), we told them hey, why did you guys lie to us? Their response? "Players gotta play." This is why I am leaving this review. If you wanted us to pay to get in, that's fine. But there was no need to lie to us or not let one of friends find out for us. We were happy to pay, but at the end, that made it worse. We know you have a business to run, but we didn't expect you to have shady business practices. About the lines. You have to get in a line to go up the elevator, and once you get upstairs, the bouncers will ask you if you're on the guestlist. If you're not, you're definitely not getting in. Anyway, there's a list for general guestlist and table guestlist. Luckily, my friend had a table so we got in right away. Once you get inside, it already calls for a fire hazard. It's a narrow walkway from the entrance to the bar and then it goes all the way around to another bar. There's an outside patio and a very small dance floor. One side of the bar is very cold since it opens to the patio, but then when you get to the other side with the dance floor, it's very humid and no air flow. GROSS. This place is not diverse. Got most of my group up by 10:30 and I was super relieved that they were able to accommodate 2 more ppl to my party as I read that they're super strict w their guest lists. They did mention that they are more lenient with the guy/girl ratio if you had table service so if u do have more guys, don't be mad if they won't let u in, just buy it cos it's reasonably priced + it comes w food so everyone wins :) Requested a specific section about a month before and was told that the place is usually held for ppl w at least 2 bottles so I went ahead and requested 2 bottles but still didn't get that section cos friends of the club w 1 bottle who weren't there yet reserved it too. My group and I ended up moving to a different table twice. Although there were some mishaps, the staff (shoutout to my waitress and Jimmy!!) took really good care of my group and I. Since the party wasn't there yet, she offered to have the area cleared for my girls and I to take pics. Then Jimmy started us w free shots that were absolutely delicious and provided us 2 bottles of champagne. celebrated a friend's birthday and was able to see what this lounge is about! i think this place is strictly guest list as everyone is checked in and with the low volume of people i assume they don't take walk ins {drinks} i was able to try one of their cocktails, the black dahlia and their well drinks & shots. the bar on the back side near the patio seems to be more lenient with the amount of alcohol in their drinks as the one my friends had in the back were stronger than the ones they had at the main bar. the cocktail wasn't bad, it had a hint of a lemonade flavor with blackberries which i wished were a bit sweeter but overall not a bad drink. the other popular option the bartender recommended was the dragons breath but i'm not a huge fan of cinnamon so i opted out. the shots there are also quite large so if you're looking to start the night off on a high, this is recommended. {venue} parking is easy as everyone has mentioned, either in the structure for $2 or on the street if you're lucky. it was pretty easy to find and get in. for a friday night it was definitely not as packed as other places i've been. however that was a benefit since it made the bday girl easy to find and it wasn't packed to the extent where it was sweaty. the music was basically top 40 and some older songs in the beginning of the night. the floor plan is kind of awkward as the two dance floors are broken up by the bar/kitchen. it's hard to hear the music from the patio and there weren't speakers in that area therefore impacting the smaller dance floor area. the photo op spaces weren't as cool as they seem in the pictures. the spaces are kind of awkwardly thrown about the lounge and the shower especially seemed kind of strange. the people there are basically all asian with your token white males scattered about. in general if you're looking for a chill place with dance music to hang out this isn't a bad place to go but if you're looking for someplace poppin on a friday night, i would hedge my bets on a diff spot in LA. read more

Really cool lounge that's not too small or gigantic. Great atmosphere. So many cool decor that you want to take selfies at every 3 feet. Each table section is uniquely decorated. One big main bar where the dance floor is and a smaller bar towards the back. Everything is white, chic, and modern. Resident and special guest dj's are really good and play a good assortment of hip hop from the 80s to current. They really try to switch it up, cover everything, and cater to the crowd. *please don't request songs from the dj. Nothing is more annoying. If you really want to hear your jam, go back to your car. If you got a group, I highly recommend reserving a table. It's so worth it in the end. You get to sit and have a place to put your stuff down. It's great to get a table near the dance floor, but the music and vibe is so close, even if you're in the back, just make your own dance floor. The outside area is bigger than indoors! So there's plenty of room to get fresh air. When it gets warmer, it'll probably be better to rsvp tables outdoors order in the back. In attendance were A LOT of females!! I'm sure the ratio was 8:1 maybe 12:1!! Dress code seemed to be relaxed. Some dressed up, dressed casual, dressed sexy...crowd is mostly Korean, however there was a good mix of the Asian continent, Hispanics, and Blacks. I did not see one white person. This was a Friday night. You can park in the garage, $2 with validation. Good luck finding street parking. Elevator entrance is inside bldg lobby. Take it to the 5th floor. Definitely one of the cutest bars I've ever been to! The decor is perfect for cute Instagram photos with your girlfriends on a girl's night out. If you're a guy reading this thinking it's too "girly" for your taste, just keep in mind that cute decor + IG worthy photos = LOTS of girls. I'm personally not a fan of typical Koreatown bars and just sitting around drinking soju, snacking, and getting fat. I like to drink and burn off my calories on the dance floor and every time I've been to Apt 503 the music has been amazing. The policy and restrictions you guys have set for your establishment is ridiculous. For me to have a guest list of 28 people with "good" ratio and have it turned down because of a bad Yelp review one of the friends on the guest list wrote is just unreasonable. Doing that, you are losing business from people who have never been here. This doesn't improve the experience for your guests as you guys claim. As a business, you guys should take the bad reviews and criticism as a constructive way to make your establishment better. First off, we were never told the guest list had a deadline in order to get inside (FYI parking is hard to find and you still have to take an elevator up to this place). Second, I tried to speak to the lady in front who was quite rude and was very snobby. My group was a party of 15 and was told that the only way we could get in was if we paid. She broke it down to $550 PLUS over $200+for gratuity. UH HELL TO THE NO. Why would we pay that much only to chill there for an hour or so since they close at 2 then spend more inside? So we decided to leave and as we were waiting for the slow elevators to come up we ran into some friends who were already inside. Apparently it was NOT even packed and didn't reach capacity. This bar was a great find. The decor on the walls inside is SO cute. Everything is drawn on the walls and it makes the place quirky and fun. Drinks were all really good especially their cocktails. The music was pretty good and there's a chill outdoor space as well as fun dance floor. When me and my friends got there, they said it was a private party but then they just ended up letting me in after they asked me how I found out about it and I just said yelp haha.
