I don't know if they have a DJ every night but I wish we had a gotten a big flashing warning when making our reservation that it would be VERY LOUD and you should not come if you plan to have a dinner conversation. After our meal, I searched here and found many similar complaints. It feels more like a dance club than a high-end Italian restaurant. Is this really what most diners want? I completely played myself coming here. Kinda ruined my night for valentines. If you have money to blow just because you're bored, I'd recommend here. I should've know the portion sizes were gonna be smaller than canned food for $35+ each. But what made it worse was with my allergy to eggs, my options were very limited and the chefs were no longer able to make noodles that I was able to eat, forcing me to order something $20 more expensive. We had amazing service from Sophiia Ivanna D. She really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great evening. We wanted to do the "KYOTO TO ROMA SIGNATURE" which is a prefixed menu for $98 per person, but it's served by every two people and it was only 5 of us. Once she explained that we said it was okay and would just go a la carte, but she was adamant she would speak to the owner or manager to see if they would make an exception to accommodate our odd number group, and she was successful. The food and drinks were great! They have some really nice cocktails. I don't think we had a bad drink, though they weren't very strong. The food all came out hot and fresh. They were sure to stagger each course/serving so it wouldn't be sitting and we had time to enjoy and savor each dish., especially because we ordered extra items from the a la carte menu. First proper meal during my 2 week stay. I was walking around with no particular destination looking for 2 things: 1 a tattoo spot and somewhere to eat before getting a tattoo. I had a Pulsd voucher for bottomless brunch here ($118 for 2 people) so a friend and I visited on Saturday. The space is huge and the decor is lovely. The amount of food on the brunch menu is generous. You start with 3 appetizers each for the table to share (we had rock shrimp, arancini and bruschetta). You then get a sushi platter, a main course each and dessert. I went for the lobster roll ($10 extra charge) and my friend went for the Benedict for our mains. Unfortunately although there is a lot of food the quality just wasn't there for us. Most of the appetizers were a bust (although the shrimp was nice), the sushi was very average and my friend said that her Benedict was like mush. My lobster roll was good though, and the filling was generous. We did the bottomless brunch and went for the rose. In 90 minutes our drinks were topped up twice, whichever as extremely disappointing for the price. I actually spent 20 minutes with no drink at all (either wine or water) and didn't see a staff member that I could ask for a top up. My final point is the service. Although there staff themselves are very friendly the service is extremely slow. We were there for 2.5 hours in total and never even had dessert as we were full. I hate being rushed for my meal so don't mine slower service, but with the lack of drink top up as well it was just a little disappointing. All in all I don't think I would return. This is in an area where there are a lot of nice spots and I just think I would rather try somewhere else than return here. read more

Saw the brunch special and was captivated by the presentation (on social media) Upon arrival the interior design was nice, with a large interior dining area. It was a preset menu besides the entree (which has a good selection) we went with the lobster roll and the truffle pizza which was delicious definitely recommend. Had dinner at Aqua on a busy Friday evening. May seem to be a little unusual to have an Italian and a Japanese menu but it works! We did the Signature Tasting Meal to sample both and had a great meal. Started with a solid miso soup and edamame followed by burrata and a very good sushi and sashimi platter. Next came perhaps our favorite dish of the night - the mafalde pasta with oxtail ragu. It was flavorful with perfectly cooked pasta. I got started with the Raichi cocktail ($22) which is sorta like a lychee cocktail with coconut. The server came over to explain the menu concept. It's actually not Italian Asian fusion. They have two separate kitchens and this is where the issues occur. I orders food from both menus and my food did not arrive until 9:32pm which is terrible! The manager was apologetic and tried to make things right but comping one round of drinks. On to the food quality. The pasta came out hot but it lacked seasoning and my noodles were not Al dente but very undercooked basically hard. The sushi roll was just OK. It began with us having to wait almost 10 minutes for someone to seat us. Once we were seated, our waiter asked whether we wanted edamame and olives, without mentioning they weren't complimentary. We only found out both cost $20 when the bill came. When I tried to order a cup of tea, they were out of every normal tea type. The dual-menu concept was intriguing, but made ordering more stressful than fun. We kept vacillating over what to order and landed on a mix of pasta dishes and Japanese dishes. Once we ordered, the pacing was chaotic. Dishes came out in random order - appetizers after mains, and entrees staggered so much that one person was almost finished before another had even been served. The food itself was unremarkable, and the prices were shocking: $8 for a bowl of plain white rice and $9 for a very average miso soup. The server never came back to check on us after we ordered. The table next to us complained about the same issue. The final straw on service came with the check - we were charged for two cocktails we didn't order, and only noticed after we had already paid. After reading other Yelp reviews, it seems we're not the only ones this has happened to. Between the disorganized service, inflated prices, and questionable billing, I wouldn't return. read more

We got pizza, gyoza, peppers, steak, shrimp, fried rice and several desserts. The only reason for the four stars is because I didn't love that the food comes out as it's ready. Aqua for brunch was fantastic. We went on a Sunday and were told there is live jazz on Saturdays. The interior is very impressive with high ceilings and 25,000 square feet of space. The decor is lacking slightly due to the amount of empty space but it didn't take away from the meal. The service was attentive and friendly. We did notice a piece of hair on a dish as it was being served to our table and after we pointed it out, they took immediate action to bring out a new dish and a complimentary dessert at the end which was a nice way to show they cared to correct the mistake. We ordered the matcha waffle, wagyu katsu and tamago sando, salmon maki, salmon nigiri, and mafalde. It was an interesting combination of Japanese and Italian cuisine. Our server took the effort to space out the dishes which were perfectly timed. Out of all the dishes, the stand out was the mafalde pasta with oxtail ragu and winter truffle. First impressions... this place is MASSIVE for a New York restaurant. It almost feels like you could be over the bridge in New Jersey. They explained that they have two kitchens - one Italian and one Japanese - and they are not connected. The first half of the menu is a full Italian menu and the back half is a full Japanese menu. We ordered a little from here, a little from there: - the crystal sushi - a "new genre of sushi" that includes a gelatinous layer over the top. It was actually very good. - scallops crudo: delicious - sashimi: great, but the server got our order wrong - spinach salad: genius to have steamed spinach sitting in a pool of peanut sesame sauce - risotto: great, but the flavor was a little mild. I think because it was supposed to have sausage in it, which would have given it a nice balance, but there was no sausage. - Then the Japanese lamb chops - wow!! My friend and I are both Greek and we LOVED it. Do not miss. - gelato and sorbet for dessert was great as well Excellent mocktail menu that I have to mention for the search engine. Dined here for brunch on Broadway which consists of a 4 course menu. For drinks I had the Raichi martini (a bit on the stronger side) and the Mai Thai me up and Negroni. For appetizers we started with the arancini, shrimp tempura and a caponata. The arancini had mushroom and black truffle and was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside -delicious. The Caponata was very crunchy but the pesto on the bottom of the baguette added another layer of flavor. The rock shrimp was tasty but could have been fried longer as the tempura was on the softer side. Overall great start and everything was family style. My favorite was the arancini and if dining a la cart I would opt for that. For the next course we had a sushi and sashimi platter which was super filling. The presentation was beautiful. For entrees, we opted for the add ons and ordered the wagyu burger with sweet potato fries and the oxtail mafalde. The oxtail was flavorful and hearty and the burger cooked at medium was juicy and filling. Also enjoyed the sweet potato fries as well. For dessert, the staff brought out a platter with assorted fruit chocolate mousse, mochi, ice cream and a lemon ricotta mousse. Again phenomenal presentation and I was thankful for the fruit for my palette. For the price of the brunch the value and level of presentation and execution of the food is a great value (we also used a pulsd voucher which made it similar to BOGO). We also dined early December where the foot traffic on a snowy day was slower than normal. We received speedy service and the venue itself is massive.
