Dear aquadisiac, This was probably the most helpful pet shop in entire Sydney. The workers in store are so helpful and friendly and are happy to give you advice on anything you want to know. Such an amazing store that I will definitely be returning to when I need or want more fish or supplies for them. Thank you very much for helping me choose my blue yabby and my zebra Danios. They were so helpful, Thanks... read more
I have been a fish keeping hobbyist for over 20 years and I am yet to find an aquarium store where the staff know this much and are more keen in the concept of fish keeping and aquascaping than at Aquadisiac aquarium. Tucked away in trendy Surry Hills, Aquadisiac have been doing this thing called aquariums and aquascaping ( for those not familiar with the lingo, that's those cool planted tanks that look amazing and like a landscape) since before it was cool. Not only do they have a great range of tropical and exotic fish species, they also have a pet accessories store upstairs. Follow the awesome rainforest mural up to find a selection of Super premium dog and cat foods, flea and tick treatments and accessories. Speak to the friendly owner operators Ryan and Scott, and they will be able to to help you out with just about anything pet related, from your sick fish to your interest in Scleropages leichardti. You know what it means, dont you fish nerd? Ryan is a keen topical and aquarium plant fan, and I managed to even pick up a vanilla orchid from him along with some cool fish that you dont often see in regular pet stores, like sparkling gourami and some crystal red shrimp. SO if you're in the market for some living decor, or you're just mad keen, these guys are my #1 recommendation. Search Aquadisiac on Facebook where they post new and exciting stock arriving in store, or check out their web page. read more

Had heard good things about this store so on a recent trip to Sydney I decided to check it out. What a disgrace the reality was! Easily one of the WORST aquariums I have been to.Dirty, overstocked tanks, dead fish and an all round grimy feel to the place. The staff are VERY rude and unhelpful too. Extremely over hyped and disappointing.Would never buy a fish from this dirty place. read more

When it comes to fish, this place is the real deal. Very knowledgable staff and a massive selection of fish, plants and other aquatic animals. The shop may not be a huge warehouse sized megastore, in fact it's very tiny. Looking at it from the outside, I thought no way this place was going to have more than a few token specimens. But, upon entering I was pleasantly surprised. It makes up for floor area with wall to wall and floor to roof tanks filled with all sorts of exotic water creatures. As for supplies and accessories, they stock both premium brands and high quality cheaper stuff too. Everything you need to get a real tank going. Not a lot in the way of tank toys, but you can find that stuff anywhere. It's definitely worth driving half way across Sydney to check these guys out if you're looking to put together an aquarium. Prices are a little on the higher end of the spectrum, but hey you pay for quality, knowledge and service, so in the end it's worth it. read more

This is the one stop fish shop. Anything they don't have is never too much trouble to order in for you, and after having ordered some fish online, and seen the quality differences between the fish I ordered online and the fish that Chris and his team have in stock really speaks volumes. Although the business has changed hands, and has changed focus a bit to be focused solely on fish, this little shop never ceases to amaze me by providing the best quality fish and at prices that are somehow below wholesale online orders. Possibly the most important aspect of this store is the fact that they care for the fish. Despite the dark decor and Chris' tattoos there is nowhere that I have found a more caring bunch of people than here. If you are able to go in to the store, have a look at the axolotl that Chris rescued from a council cleanup, where it would have been left to die on the side of the road. He refuses to sell it for fear that it might meet the same fate that was awaiting it before Chris found him. Back to the points that are really relevant when buying fish... There is a massive variety in store all the time and every time I go there I walk out with at least three new fish. The fish even manage to breed in the store which is a testament to the relaxing environment. If you want to buy a fish, don't go to the pet shop in Westfield, go to Aquadisiac instead. Have a look at the top of the water in a regular pet shop and without fail there will be at least one dead goldfish, unnoticed, floating in the water waiting to be thrown in the bin. The fish here are much healthier and will live much longer, my fish have been living happily for seven years now, and ive never had a single health problem with them. Hats off to these guys they do a great job read more
