It's a sports centre that plays host to mornings and afternoons of kids sports and evenings of adult sports as well as countless tennis tournaments across the week (check the Facebook for up to date times). It's perfect if you fancy some action on holiday or if you've got some little ones and want them to be entertained for at least 1 afternoon while you get some peace and quiet. Theres a nice pool and plenty of deck chairs and a kitchen/bar that's open most of the day! Opened and owned by a friendly English family and still ran by them to this day. I must visit if you're in Burgau, Luz or a nearby town!

Its not huge like the Bronx Zoo and as a result the experience is so intimate. They have animals from all around the world with a big emphasis on birds and monkeys. The first time I was here I saw a pair of birds the size of teenagers straight up dancing. Now for the monkeys. The main monkey area is on an island that you can walk around 360 degrees. There's no cages, just a bit of water (filled with all kinds of ducks and swans) separating you and the monkeys. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. You can sit there and watch monkeys hanging out for hours, it's fascinating. I would give this place a million stars if I could. Definitely check it out if you ever find yourself in the Algarve.

We will not support a business that wants us to keep quiet or not celebrate this 2026 day of Pride. Think twice about who you support. Whether gay, straight or you're a human being who wants other people to be proud of who they are, I would encourage supporting those businesses. There are many Supporting business owners here in Lagos. Being a part of Pride helps Lagos and should be celebrated.

We kayak to the beach stay there for 20 minutes and then we explore for another half an hour. We got back to the boat with the kayaks people in the boat and the guide where very nice and collaborative. We cruise back to the Marina the whole plan was between 2 hours and a half. I recommend the plan if you want to travel with children.

Great beach with nice sand and supposedly not as busy as other beaches during July and August. It's…read moreabout 2km/ 1 1/4 miles long and sits in a bay. At low tide it's even longer since you can get around cliffs to the east. There are also cliffs that you can walk up to the east and wet to get great views. To the east you can walk to Ponte de Piedade in about 35 minutes with only the initial climb up the cliffs being strenuous. To the west you can walk the cliffs to Luz although the climb down is a little treacherous. There are also two restaurants at the beach O Antonio and Campimar which are reasonably priced even when you don't consider the premiere location. There's even bus service from Old Town if that's where you're staying.
