I found the people welcoming, I was there from 6:30-8 on a drizzling Tuesday. Tables about half full and filling up over the hour and a half I was there. The menu seemed really fresh and seems to change weekly (I don't read Czech, but google translate helped). I had a very properly cooked steak with mashed potatoes in a Jameson sauce. I wanted to buy all the chefs a beer because the steak was so good (and I'm from the Midwest of the USA. And the beer... Oh the beer was great. No English menus that I know of. I didn't ask. But the other options I remember were a single seafood ravioli, a starter of roasted apples with star-anise, risotto with prosecco and pecorino sauce, there was also a salmon filet, goulash w potato dumplings, slow cooked veal osso-bucco, and an ice cream dessert offering. Anyway, I say go. Get away from the places on the square and come here. I don't think they take credit cards... Not sure... I paid cash.

Anyway, aside from that, the food was absolutely delicious. They have a varied menu, so if you aren't used to Czech food or have been in the country a while and just want some variety, they have plenty of options. (I wouldn't say it's friendly.) The bakery inside makes all of their bread and pastries. I so wish I loved it. Where it fell short was in the food and drink. Stopping by for lunch on a Thursday in July with my six-year-old daughter, we ordered the bread with meats and cheese, the watermelon and cucumber salad, and the pork dumpling. The bread was perfect texture and the butter was excellent. The pickled veggies were fine, but the meats and cheeses were all too smoky. The watermelon and cucumber salad almost got there, but the skin on the cucumber clashed with the watermelon and the sauce didn't compliment the salad. The pork dumpling is NOT your traditional dumpling. It's massive and more like a very dry piece of bread. The pork inside had good flavor, though. The local white wine I got has an interesting story. It's made inside the garage of a punk rocker. Cool story, but not for wine. The wine fell short. Funky, but on the worse end of white wine I've had in Czechia. (And Czechia's white wine is usually good!) Maybe we ordered wrong, but I won't run back to Long Story Short.

Stopping in for lunch at 13.00 on a Friday in July, we got one of the last tables. To drink, the passion fruit lemonade is the best we've had. The white wine is 40 CZK and refreshing. The semi-dry hard cider was just the right amount of sweet and tart. To eat, we each got a bowl of red curry with chicken and rice. It's a large amount and so tasty! And the spice is barely there so our six-year-old could eat it.
