The tech who was very nice said it was because of a miscommunication at the office. I asked if they might be able to lower that to $500 and he went outside and called the owner. When he came back in, he said it would be $1100. I told him no thank you and I was going to get other bids. Then he asked me for $250 for coming out and so I wrote him a check. I spoke to a woman named Jen from the office and she said yes it was a miscommunication but to go from $300 to $680 before taxes to then $1100 feels pretty unethical to me. If you make a mistake in your bidding process at your office, have some integrity and accept responsibility and meet somebody in the middle.
