Came in to see Dr. Cannon and get eyes on an injury that isn't healing the way I want it to. This way the doc can explain it's healing as it must and doesn't require amputation. We scheduled his 19 yr wellness check while in. Dr. Cannon is the Doc and as I mentioned to the lady who checked us in, so long as Dr. Cannon is in practice and allows the Kid tol visit, he will. I understand I have seen posts about the office and sure, I have also had some hiccoughs over the last 19/20 years but the most important part for me is having a medical professional one can trust and we trust him. Dr. Cannon has always been phenomenal as a provider and that means, I am willing to have appointments scheduled further out if need be because he's always been there and he is who my son trusts. read more

Ridiculous office. Loved them until they were bought out. Lost all their doctors, and filled them with "temp" doctors who literally do not care and disregard anything you say. The front office girl told me various things, like they don't pay their employees, the doctors quit because they won't pay them fair wages, etc. Their check in form is also insane. Asking if my 2 year old has been to jail, prison, etc. If she's a refugee, what country she's from. Asking if she's going to lose her housing?! And yes, I called and clarified if it was asking about the guardian. Nope, the pediatric patient! I did 3 of my children's check ins and only one of them promoted these types of questions. Switching offices immediately. Last review I left, the office manager called me asking if I could take it down, what they could do etc. Went in for a sick visit the next time and she came into our room multiple times asking if there was anything she could do anything to get me to remove my review (which was not even bad). Normally, I would not want to rate a Pediatric clinic since they are helping take care of my child. But this is the second time that I've gone to a wellness appointment and had to wait over an hour to see the doctor. The first three visits we had with this clinic were punctual, and were quite enjoyable. Sadly, at this time we had to wait and had to endure extremely hot room with her baby. I have included a picture of the thermostat showing 76° which is unacceptable to have in a children's clinic.. I would happily change my rating to five star. If I the next visit the indoor temperature is a standard 68 to 72° and I am able to see a doctor in under an hour for a typical wellness visit. read more

We have been coming to this office for 10 years and have rarely requested a visit outside of well checks. Today we really could have used an in-person evaluation and although we were told there were plenty of appointments available they refused to see my son because it was for a rash which began with a fever. Their reason being a few cases of Measles in Gilbert. Isn't this why you have a Pediatrician, to treat sick kids! Thankfully, we have a doctor in the family and we were able to order a chest X-ray ourselves and subsequently call in antibiotics for pneumonia. I feel sorry for the parents who don't have a physician in the family. They would be left to fend for themselves in the Emergency Department and pay insane fee's. Glad Papago Buttes showed that they are not willing to help the community that helped build their practice. read more

I know, I know, Baby Mess hasn't even arrived yet, but I was told it's important to "meet and greet" potential pediatricians before the baby arrives. So, since Dr. Sotelo at Papago Buttes came highly recommended thanks to our friends who recently became parents, Tammar H and Brad P, we scheduled a "meet and greet" appointment with him and were pleased with how it went. The office staff were extremely friendly when I called and in person... We felt comfortable from the moment we walked in, and especially like the fact that they have a "sick child entrance" and a "well child entrance." (This very well may be standard today at all pediatricians, but it was new to us! Dr. Sotelo himself spent plenty of time with us thoroughly going over our health history and answering our questions. He was also clear about how convenient it is to schedule routine appointments, the hours they are open, getting in when the child is sick, and even just calling with questions. I am relieved to have a pediatrician and I feel that Baby Mess will be in terrific hands when he/she comes into the world! I'm giving four stars for now but after a few visits, I am hoping to bump it up to five assuming we continue to be pleased with this practice! read more

Dr. Reznick is my son's pediatrician and I truly feel he is in the BEST hands/care possible at Papago Buttes Pediatrics. My first experience with Dr. Reznick was a personal phone call to my hospital recovery room within 12 hours of delivering my baby boy. The next day, Dr. Reznick himself came to the hospital to check on baby (on a national holiday AND on his birthday!). I've heard from fellow mommies that some pediatricians don't come to the hospital at all, but that wasn't my experience and I appreciated that extra step (and on Halloween night, nonetheless!). Every visit since birth has been great! The waiting room is interactive with toys and bright wall murals. Our appointment never feels rushed and we always sit down post examination to review my baby's development, as well as go over any questions I have. In speaking with other mothers about their experiences with their pediatricians (not with Papago Buttes Pediatrics), I am SO thankful to not have to experience what they deal with. My son's appointments are stress/hassle free, accurate, informative, interactive and an overall positive experience. Let me start with: all doctors at this facility are phenomenal. Nothing less than GREAT! They are very very very knowledgeable, experienced, kind and make you feel like they care. I am lucky to have my daughter seeing Dr. Reznick since she was a newborn, but she has seen basically all of them if we need to visit and he's not there. Dr. Reznick knows my daughter by the name, her habits, her personality and every single problem she had. He makes us feel so "taken care of" and this is coming from a very very neurotic first time mom. The staff is good too. I miss her nurse she used to have since she was a baby, but they are all good. I don't know what I would do without Dr Reznick. I'd rate this place, doctors, staff and service 10 stars if I could. And thank God they are pro vaxx! :) read more

I chose Papago Buttes because it was one of the recommendations from my OB and also because of the great reviews. When we arrived at the hospital to check in, the nurse also had children that are patients of theirs and had all great things to say. We chose Dr. Sotelo and are very happy with the treatment he has given our son since the day he came into the hospital to see him. The office staff are also so sweet, especially the billing staff being very helpful to me during some insurance headaches and financial situations. They have the on call triage nurse(s) during and after hours that I have called too many times to count (as a new mom I panicked about everything) knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. We moved to Chandler last month but I still take my son to Papago, despite the longer drive! read more

I could not be more thrilled with our first visit to see Dr. Sotelo at Papago Buttes. From the initial phone call, until we left the office, I was pleased with every interaction I had we had. It started with a phone call to see if Dr. Sotelo, who came highly recommended, was accepting new patients. To my excitement he was. I wanted to make an appointment for the same week, and they were able to accommodate my request. Before we hung up the call I was told that I would receive a call before my appointment to get all of my information entered into their system. I loved this! Someone from the office took all of our information over the phone so when we arrived at the office, we had no paperwork to fill out! Three signatures (privacy policy, permission to treat, agreement to pay for services), all on the same sheet of paper, and we were free to enjoy the lobby entertainment until our name was called. The parking lot was large and not crowded. The waiting area provided ample seating for adults, a bookshelf filled with children's books, a play table and a few small chairs or little ones. One of the walls was an activity wall with interactive games for the kids while they waited. After a few minutes, our name was called and we were led back to a room. Just outside the room was a large toy box. The nursed encouraged us to grab some entertainment on our way in. My initial thought was, "I guess that means it will be a while." Wrong! The nurse took our measurements right away and said the doctor would be right with us. Within five minutes Dr. Sotelo entered the room. He spoke to me like I was his equal and explained what he was doing as he did it. My daughter appreciated this, as did I. I had chosen to delay certain vaccines. Dr. Sotelo took the time to hear my reasoning behind the decision. Instead of pushing me to move forward with them, he answered my questions and let me choose how to proceed. After the doctor left, the nurse returned and administered the injections we had decide to go forward with. When she was done she led us to Dr. Sotelos office. Dr. Sotelo met us in his there, offered my daughter a sugar-free sucker (which she devoured in minutes), and we sat and discussed milestones, development, etc. On the way out, a friendly staff member set up our next two (!) appointments, and we were on our way...well, almost on our way. My daughter insisted on a few more minutes of play time in the lobby before we headed out. Yes, that is right, she didn't want to leave. Never did I feel rushed or forgotten. My daughter had a blast. The staff was professional, respectful, friendly and courteous. What more could you ask for in a pediatrician? read more

We recently switched to PBPC because our current doctor's office wasn't providing our family with the care we expect from a pediatric office. Our daughter hates going to the doctor's office. She cries as soon as we are in the parking lot and cries the entire time at the office. We had to follow up with our doctor because we were in the ER with our daughter. We just couldn't take her back to the current doctor and put through all of the emotions again. So I decided to search on Yelp. PBPC had great reviews so we decided to try the PBPC office. Our daughter walked right in and went straight to the toys...which she never did at the old office. Front office staff was very friendly, another plus! They didn't appear to hate their job. They called her back and she walked herself straight back and got on the scale to get weighed...another first! When the doctor walked in, he introduced himself, shook our hands and our daughter even shook his hand! She did wonderful the entire visit! Dr. Reznick is a great doctor and our daughter loved him! This review is 4 1/2 years overdue. Dr. Sotelo has been our pediatrician for both my babies since birth, and I can't imagine having anyone else taking care of them. He is the kindest man who goes out of his way to make you feel like you're super mom. He knows us moms run the show and he takes every chance he gets to empower you and remind you how amazing you are doing. Sorry dads, you're amazing and all, but he'll remind you too! He listens more than he speaks, but if you do have questions - he always has answers. Any specialist recommendations he has given to us have also been amazing (i.e. an allergist, speech therapist for my son). If he is giving me advice, it is never from a judgmental place. He's knowledgeable, always available and makes my kids feel safe and comfortable. The office is very well cleaned and the staff has been lovely since 2016. There is a sick child side that is completely separate. Movies are playing on both sides and there are plenty of activities (not currently due to Covid) and artwork for kids to enjoy as they wait. They have an online portal now which is very easy to navigate and last but not least, the triage nurses get back to you promptly are always wonderful to work with--no matter the time of night. If you're looking for the most caring pediatrician and well run office/friendly staff--this should be your final stop! read more

Dr. Sotelo has been amazing since our first prenatal meeting with him. He was so positive and encouraging. He visited my son when he was born and reassured me I was doing a good job as a mother in his newborn and one month visits when I was still am exhausted emotional mess. But what impressed me the most, was when my son caught RSV at 2 months old and was in the hospital. Dr. Sotelo came and saw him every day to check up on him. If you want a pediatrician who is encouraging, knowledgeable and passionate about his patients and their parents, then Dr. Sotelo is the best! Ps we met with dr. My daughters are no longer patients at this location. My daughter had a massive brain tumor removed when she was 2 (at another facility), after my insurance changed I was referred to this place. The initial appointments were nice, not much of a wait, not a lot of paperwork to fill out and the Dr seemed to be very thorough with the yearly checkup, but my main concern was getting my daughter an MRI once a year (as directed by her brain surgeon and oncologist), and the year mark was closing in on us. We visited Dr Cannon about 5 times, and none of these times did he refer me for her routine MRI, he kept on telling me they had requested the notes from county hospital to be able to determine whether they could request an MRI or not. I called county myself and had them fax over the notes but still, Papago Buttes kept telling me they never received anything. I gave up and switched her to PCH. AAAAAND HER BRAIN TUMOR IS BACK, it would've been nice to have the Dr take my concern seriously and catch this damn tumor earlier. I get there are other patients that have a priority, but I'd think that any respectable place would put priority on a 6yo that had a previous brain tumor removed and had specific instructions to have routine MRI's once a year. I honestly feel like my concerns were dismissed at this location, and it's really the worst feeling, now knowing her brain tumor is back and it could've been removed sooner. read more

We have been coming to this practice for over 3 years now and really enjoyed being patients up until about 6 months ago. This practice used to have little to no wait times for well visits and we're great about getting you in same day for sick appointments, but all that has changed. We left a well visit today after waiting for over an hour and didn't even see the doctor. When I asked the front desk how much longer, they informed me that we were several patients back and would have had to wait even longer...so we left. With the announcement of the tenured doctors leaving and the welcoming of new practitioners, this practice can't seem to keep up. It's been harder than ever to get a sick appointment and it was confirmed today that the well patient appointments are just as bad. I've never seen the waiting room as busy or full with patients who arrived on time for their appointments as I didn't today. We love Dr Chemewleski, but may need to look at taking our services elsewhere. read more

I feel blessed to have had Dr. Cannon as our pediatrician since we moved here 16 years ago. We have been through a lot with Dr. Cannon and appreciate his kind nature and willingness to listen and talk. Yes, the wait times can be long, depending on the day, time of year, etc. but I always try to remember if there were an emergency with my child I would want him/her to be seen/squeezed in. I just try to plan for a bit of a wait. The last few times there has not been a wait. I am thankful to have had Dr. Cannon in our lives as we journey through raising children. My kids have been patients of Dr. Reznick for 17 years. My kids have also seen Dr. Sotelo and Dr. Cannon on occasion. For the majority of this time I have been happy with the doctors and staff which makes this review difficult. As of the last few years, the office staff and nursing staff has had substantial turnover. The front office staff is not very friendly and seem to not have a general knowledge to common questions especially regarding out of pocket costs. I feel that Dr. Reznick should retire. He is out of touch with issues regarding today's teenagers and has been quick to dismiss my concerns, i.e., I was being overprotective, my son needed "alone" time or he was merely "copycating" despite taking family history into consideration. If your child has no issues whatsoever then this is the place for you. If you find yourself in need of referrals for specialists save yourself some time and heartache because Dr. Reznick's referrals are just as dated as he is. read more

I LOVE the care I get at Papago Pediatrics. Dr. Cannon is my doctor, and he is caring, genuinely laughs at and gets my (sometimes offensive) jokes, and really explains what is wrong with me when I ask. I was here MANY times within the past few months and I was treated with respect, care, and friendliness. Dr. Cannon has been a family friend since I was little, and he is VERY good at his work!! (I think he should get payed more since he does such a GREAT job!!) Through the months I have placed MANY calls to Dr. Cannon, gotten 2 X-Rays, been referred to a specialist, and gotten some diagnoses and have been treated AMAZINGLY nicely throughout this whole time. When the specialist hasn't called me back even though I have had 2 medical emergencies, Dr. Cannon agreed to call tomorrow while he emailed back ALMOST RIGHT AWAY after my mom emailed him with our concerned. (Dr. Cannon actually seemed MAD at the specialist because hasn't called, and Dr. Cannon offered an urgent call from him within 24 hours! That's what I call a good doctor!) Papago Pediatrics has been my main doctor since I was adopted at 10 months old, and they work with kids and their families until 21 years old!!! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!! :) read more

Dr. Cannon has been my daughter's pediatrician since she was born. Although he has never expressed any negativity at our decision to delay/decline our daughter's vaccinations, some of the nurses have been a little snooty about it. From our first visit, Dr. Cannon has always been very thorough in answering all our questions, and even answering questions we didn't even know we had. The office has a sick-child waiting room and a well-child waiting room. I'd never seen that before, but it's so sensible. Even though we moved from Scottsdale to Tempe, we aren't changing doctors. My boys are 5&6. Dr. Cannon has been their physician since each was born. This is a terrific group of physicians. All are exceptionally patient with both the kids and new parents.
