Not a real place. Walked 15 from the circus mall to there just to find out that it doesn't exist.

At BTP, you will find the most sandwich and full-bodied semi-sweet pancakes you will ever eat in your life. Flavoured with a cascade of maple syrup, they will be the perfect match for the fried bacon with which they are served. Tired of avocado toast - let's face it, I can do it myself at home, without spending nine effing pounds - I wanted to try the famous eggs Benedict. Accompanied by two slices of sourdough toast bread and hollandaise sauce they were fire! I also wanted to add some bacon just to keep it light... because why not?! I was expecting classic American bacon in thin, crunchy and super scorched strips, but I think this is the English version: thick and almost rounded slices, more like a slice of meat, but still delicious af. The meat was tender and cooked evenly, nicely browned at the edges.

I had an incredible experience at the BTP. The staff all great you with a smile as soon as you walk…read morein. And also their initiative to single use is clear, which is impressive! The menu includes a vegan dish in every category. Along with veggie options, and meat too! I ordered the vegan veggie breakfast for under £7. My partner ordered the vegan banh mi. After we ordered we headed outside to their beautiful outdoor garden. They claim to have the largest on park street. There was a lot of seating in the sun and the shade. Our food came out in a timely matter and was absolutely delicious. They veggie breakfast was so tasty! The only thing I'd change would be to add a vegan sausage or avocado in place of the missing egg from the standard veggie breakfast. The banh mi was perfect as is! We finished our food and soaked up some son. Everything about our experience was enjoyable and we will definitely be returning!

The above diatribe often goes through my mind when making that vital commuter decision "to run, or not to run?" Truth be told, it doesn't take much to sway me away from running but the lure of a coffee and a pretzel is far too tempting to just jog on past. It's surprising that for such a busy station that there's not more in the way of refreshments at Bristol Temple Meads. But if you have to make a choice for where to get a coffee, I'd always chose AMT over the Pumpkin Cafe's sat on the platforms. Cheaper, tastier and vitally quicker AMT offers a good selection of coffees, teas and snacks to make a long wait much more pleasant. The downside is that they don't offer a place to sit, and due to their popularity there's always a queue. But if you've got time to kill, pop down to see the friendly folks at AMT and they'll give you something scrummy to pass the time with.

While I was commuting between Keynsham and Cardiff for a while, I used to buy a slightly over-sweet take-away hot chocolate or a coffee from here nearly every day while I awaited my connection, in the absence of any better place to buy one. It was not the best quality in the world, but by no means the worst either. I haven't tried the thick milkshakes they shout about on their signs, mainly because I've usually been freezing cold and needing something to warm me up. The pre-packaged snacks on sale include pretzels, muffins, overpriced dried fruits and nuts, and chocolate nut bars or flapjacks - nothing particularly inspiring or good value. AMT is a simple standalone snack bar in the middle of the station's underground walkway, so there's nowhere to sit - but to be honest I think I'd rather head upstairs into the daylight than linger down there anyway.

Cosy Club - It's really grand in Cosy Club, the site of an old bank.

The other dish was a New York steak ciabatta (with amazing chips). We ordered wine and washed the tasty meal down before following it up with sticky toffee pudding and a decidedly evil peanut butter cheesecake (which comes in a glass). We like it here. It's grand and light, and the food is good and reasonably priced. What would we change? We would upgrade the condiments, so that the ketchup is better, and that authentic maple syrup is used on our pancakes rather than golden syrup, which is thick and doesn't taste of much. We would also have preferred our meals a bit hotter, as we felt like we had to wolf it down before it got cold. But these are small niggles that can be easily fixed, and probably will be at some point if the professionalism of the staff is anything to go by. They're friendly, not over-familiar, not too pushy, and they seem to want to go out of their way to make sure you enjoy Cosy Club. The wine list is short, but will hopefully improve in time. As of writing, it's only been open a couple of weeks. I look forward to being able to buy Champagne by the glass!
