According to one reliable source that makes it the thirteenth oldest golf club in the world. It is a very beautiful place -- great seaside course that is very picturesque and a great test of golf as well. The course does have a few quirks, but actually make it all the more interesting. The course heads west (back towards Edinburgh) on the outward nine and turns east to town on the back nine forming a kind of figure eight. The 18th hole is a short par four, and could be an easy birdie hole, but like St Andrews, a road runs down the right side and an offline shot could easily go thru a car window or worse, as there are houses on the other side of the road.... Short drive from Edinburgh so if you are in the neighborhood there is no excuse to miss this piece of living history....

I saw a lot of nails and deadly spikes left behind by barbeques and people playing volley ball. This place gets real busy at the weekend, and warm days with cafe's nearby selling ice cream and cold drinks. Sadly there is nothing grand here as the tacky amusement arcade's have moved in.

East Links is a nice farm/theme park/petting zoo just outside Dunbar. You just can't miss it…read morebecause there is a large brown castle with 4 towers sporting the English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish flags. They have various animals that I have never seen before like lamas, rheas, wallabies and even a highland cow! A newborn baby donkey was born on Monday and it was so cute when I saw it while we whizzed past on the train. You even get to feed baby lambs in the petting area which is the cutest thing ever! The fortress is good and has large freefall chutes going to the bottom which are really fast and I actually had to hold onto the sides to slow me down a bit! There are rat tunnels (which are very dark and scary), nets, bridges, ropes and a ramp to the top if you feel lazy. On the 4 towers, there are cannons which you can shoot tennis balls out of. There are 3 go-kart tracks, 2 of which are for small children but the one behind the fortress is for hardcore teenage drivers, like me! There is also mini golf (tokens are required to hire balls) and an indoor ball shooting arena. The prices are a bit ridiculous for the size of the place. It is about £15 per head and you will need to pay even more once you get inside (the tearoom, shops, animal feeding dispensers and golf ball dispensers charge you.) The tearoom was actually quite nice for a theme park café but the prices were quite steep! I was charged £4 for a bottle of Irn Bru and a honeycomb traybake. Ridiculous prices. The food was good though and it was the first time I had ever tasted Irn Bru. It doesn't taste as orangey as it looks. It's like Fanta with a weird vanilla twist to it. The toilets are straight ahead as you enter and they were clean with no bad smells, plenty of soap and hot water that was actually hot. The Dyson Airblade dryers worked fine too. I will be back at East Links in the summer because I didn't actually get to see everything in one day! The sweet shop on the way out is not to be missed too.

There are animals to see, horses to feed, a train ride to be taken, trampolines to be jumped on, a hay barn to be hidden in and much, much more. You can buy animal feed and bird feed to use at your discretion I believe it was only around 25p a portion which was great. The onsite shop is small but lovely with a small range of reasonably priced items. There is a huge barn with tables for picnic consuming which is a blessing with Scotland's weather! We really enjoyed our visit and would go back any time. Highly recommended!

I take my dogs and have never seen dog mess left anywhere. It's probably down to the plentiful bins which are well located and emptied regularly. The only downside is the usual rubbish not picked up by some people. Beer cans, barbecues and packaging are all to noticeable. It's a shame but doesn't spoil the place overall. I love it there.

The staff were great, but probably more importantly the course was amazing and didn't have to rely solely on being narrow to make it challenging. If your thing is having a great view of the coast, this is also your jam. This is the easily the best course we played in Scotland and one of the best courses we've played in any country. They do an excellent job of using elevation change, bunkers, and undulations to make the course extremely interesting. We will absolutely be back.

It's a blind shot and am sure more than one person has hit the starter's quarters off the tee. Fortunately I did not add my name to that list. The first Club The Elie and Earlsferry Golf Club was formed in 1832. A clubhouse or what was known as a golf house was built in 1875, and the opportunity was taken to use this name to form a new club in the same year, The Golf House Club. By 1896 more land had been leased enabling an 18 hole course to be laid out, which bar a few minor alterations is the course played today. It's a very fun course and a great layout -- a little tight in a few areas with good exposure to the elements -- the wind certainly does blow. Our last trip to Scotland included another visit to Elie and it proved to be just as enjoyable (even if it poured for half of the round). A good value as well. Hope to return.

We enjoyed our visit, we both preferred it here than commonwealth pool or the WHEC as it is far less busy, and easy enough to get to by public transport, right on the beach promenade, it's a great location. This pool provide water toys and floats which we had lots of fun with but I must make you aware that the showers although partitioned are shared with both male and females and male attendants on duty but this wasn't a problem for me or my niece but it might make some people uncomfortable. Also, make sure you bring change for the locker because they don't have cash only card payment. It's handy to know that there are Turkish baths here too and a sauna but these must be pre- booked. All in all we had lots of fun and will definitely be returning again soon!

I have to confess that I've never ventured into the pool despite being the owner of an Edinburgh Leisure membership for the last 2.5 years.... The building itself is lovely & old. it's fair to say that some bits have withstood the test of time better than others. The best thing about it though is the cafe on the first floor. It's at the front, has lots of windows making it light & airy & more importantly, gives great views of the beach. I love sitting up there with a pot of tea & a freshly baked scone watching the waves crash onto the beach. They serve generous portions of the brekkie stuff. Their bacon rolls are generously stuffed & very filling, scrambled eggs are fluffy & come piled high on mounds of toast but my favourite is their home baking. I'm a sucker for a good scone. They do fab scones which are always fresh from the oven. Perfect after a run along the Prom. In fact their scones are the reason I run along the Prom. There's nothing like the promise of a reward to make me get out of bed on a Saturday morning & go for a run.
