I have been extremely dissatisfied with the services by archon protection As a resident paying for their vehicle patrol and security services in our community, I expected proactive protection and response to issues in the area. Unfortunately, when incidents occur, the patrol guards consistently fail to take meaningful action. In multiple situations, they have responded by stating that residents must contact the police directly, despite being hired specifically to handle security matters in residential zones. This raises a serious question about the company's purpose: if guards are unwilling or unable to intervene beyond observation and referral to law enforcement, what value do they add for the fees charged to homeowners and communities? Additionally, I have observed and experienced instances where patrol personnel appear to overstep their authority, aggressively enforcing parking rules in ways that feel harassing rather than protective. This includes issuing citations and initiating tows for residents who are paying for the service, creating unnecessary conflict and frustration instead of fostering a sense of security. The overall approach from the guards gives the impression of individuals attempting to act with police-like authority without the appropriate training, oversight, or restraint. This has resulted in a service that feels more like a source of nuisance than genuine security support. I cannot recommend Archon Protection based on these repeated experiences. Communities and residents deserve a security provider that actively protects rather than defers responsibility and escalates minor issues. I was doing some research on security companies before I had applied and thank God I did. Archon is a jock!!! I don't know what happened but when the company first started, archon was the ONLY legit patrol company in ventura County and the motto, "changing the way you view security" was actually true. Now, something happened because they are a joke like 99% of security companies. The pay is also complete crap. Saw on site where for woodlands hills area manager the offered 26 an hour. For a regular patrol officer (armed) for Gates Security and for Black Knight Patrol is between 20-25 an hour. Archon is no longer armed, prolly to save more money for the owner. I have years of experience and I'm really curious to how archon attracts good employees with the pay....did more digging and the owner, Michael Kotz has pretty much zero security experience before he started archon. I reached out to a few others and heard they mainly focus on just towing because the tow company they mainly use gives them kickbacks in cash per tow. Owner of Archon is prolly protected from that because his father (I heard) knows a few higher ups with oxnard police. Almost everybody has nothing nice to say about Michael Kotz, he's apparently driven by his massive ego and entitlement. Gates and Black knight are getting really good accounts in oxnard and ventura areas and city accounts that I don't know why archon couldn't get since they at one point had a good position in the county. It's pretty messed up that these people are leaving bad reviews for this company. If you haven't noticed yet, all of these people that are whining and talking trash have gotten caught breaking THEIR OWN HOA/COMPLEX rules. It's simple don't park your car illegally and they won't tow it ? Sounds easy right? If not , have fun getting your car impounded! Remember something, these guys get paid by manager/Hoa to do a simple job. So technically they are being told by the manager/HOA that they can tow your cars for whatever reasoning. Y'all shouldn't be get mad at the guards for doing what your property pays them to do. Archon has been in my community for many many years now and They do a way better job than any other security company. I talk to the guards often and they are just so friendly. These guys do one hell of a job and if you're looking for a company that will keep your fire lanes clear to avoid fire marshal fines , intruders out and deter crime overall, the archon in the right company to go with !!! If I could this review would have zero stars! a company that changes employees time clocks and begs for someone to come in to cover. a company where a new hire will only stay for a week and than quit. This company does not allow you to be friends with any of the employees so you can't talk about how terrible the shift was. Please do not hire these incompetent "security" guards. If you are considering hiring ARCHON for anything please look else where. They create a combative environment with only homeowners. Do nothing when it comes to guarding your community. Tow anyone at a given chance and then belittle you as you call uber to get a ride to the towing yard. They believe in their hearts they are cops and act like they can tell you to be quiet if you're out on your patio drinking wine in conversational voices. Mind you, we are in our 40's and had another couple over. Not exactly a raging party. They actually carry GUNS which is the most frightening thing I think I have seen in awhile. Mike is one of the most arrogant, self-important, rude wannabe "cop" aka guard you can encounter. This is coming from someone who had two relatives work as security guards and who I know never treated people like trash. I've had two encounters with him already in which I politely ask why is he only selectively enforcing rules, asked because he lets others do as they please, and address him in a respectful way to receive the same treatment but he wipes himself with this and continues to address me as if he was my parole/correctional officer. He is a hungry walking ego in need of a boost which he gets by stepping on others. The most unprofessional people I've come across in the security business with regard to basic courtesy. Belittling comments and complete disregard for tenants in the communities they're supposed to guard. I almost had my family's car towed for an innocent mistake in parking while the guards laughed and scoffed at my mistake. Yes my mistake but as a resident here at Vanoni ranch in Ventura I was put down verbally and treated like a criminal. Horrible company have family lived in Moorpark complex & they were parked in handicap spot for few days and had emergency to go out town & came back to the car gone and towed & almost lost the car. Thanks to them can't pay rent & will probably loose their place ontop of that. Company did not call or email them or the complex either. Extremely devastating. read more

Guards are more interested in issuing parking citations, and hanging out in parking lots outside of the post rather than doing actual patrolling, meanwhile there is continuous theft happening in the neighborhood, from patios, porches and cars. Lousy service read more
