Very pleasant experience at the Newbury location during my trip to Boston. The team members were friendly, happy to help, and possessed a wealth of knowledge regarding the clothing. I was particularly having difficulty deciding between the Cerium and Thorium jackets, and it was incredibly helpful when a team member stopped what he was doing to give a rundown of each jacket. The store was also clean and well-equipped with products from clothing to accessories. read more

Visit: October 2020 COVID-19: masks were required in the store, and when you tried some thing on, you had to give the item of clothing to the front desk so it could be put in quarantine if you did not want to purchase it. Experience: I like Arc'teryx! I was very happy to visit a brick and mortar location. The location is very cute, so I was very excited to go in and check it out. The employees that were working that day were not the friendliest. We were trying on a few things because there was a big sale. She rudely stated that we needed to handover all merchandise that we did not want and needed to try on things at a minimum because things had to be placed into quarantine if people try them on in they were not purchased. I understand that we are living in very uncertain and stressful times, but simply telling people upfront what the policy is, most people will be OK with it and oblige. Then we went upstairs, and one of the workers basically stared at us and didn't engage in conversation. I felt as though he was watching us and was nervous about us being there. We ended up purchasing quite a few items, and I did not appreciate the way the workers made us feel and their unfriendly behavior during our trip. I definitely think the store needs to work on customer service. read more

Fantastic store! Great clothing selection. My only issue was that the employees were very uncomfortable to be around. They kept asking if we needed help when we said we didn't need it, and were extremely touchy when I tried on one of their jackets. They also weren't that welcoming and made it a very unexpected experience for such a highly reputable brand. read more

Nice store. Limited selection. My biggest issue is that there doesn't seem to be much communication with the rest of the Arc'teryx company. While they did take a return from something I'd bought online, they were really feeble when it came to offering any service for an item I'd purchased there--oh, you'll have it to mail it back to them--because, well, it's a liability issue. So apparently they can't send stuff back to the company. Obviously for the prices of the merchandise it would be nice if they had policies like LL Bean (or even Marshall's). I called ahead to ask about repairing a broken zipper on my jacket. They asked me about the model and color and put me on hold. When they came back they said the had the zipper and could fix it at the store for me. So I drove in the next day and when I arrived with my jacket they said the repair could not be done in store, that they basically can only replace the zipper pull in store. And any other repair needs to be mailed out for repair. So I asked if they could do that for me and they informed me they could not. They could help get the paperwork started but I would have to mail it out myself. So I wasted a 2 hour round trip drive, plus gas tolls and parking garage fees on Newbury street. And left with my broken zipper. Pretty disappointing customer service from a premium company with premium prices. Patagonia (which is right next door) would have likely told me to take a new jacket off the rack if they were unable to repair it for me (they have done this in the past). read more

It's amazing to say it's not everyday you come across an expensive retail store that has employees that truly give a damn. I fell in love with a hiking pack on Arc'teryx's website and had to see if the store itself had it, simply to compare colors and try it on. They didn't unfortunately carry the one I was looking for but the service I received at this store was nothing short of amazing. The gentlemen searched for the closed comparison for me to try on and showed me the measurements guide book the employees had to truly identify what size and color pack I could purchase online. With their help I picked my size and color and ordered immediately, the purchase was a big success and the quality is without question amazing. As an avid backpacker, their materials are truly worth the price tag and now I can see their service is as well. read more

Arc'teryx products sell themselves but are helped in great part by the very friendly and helpful staff that operates this Newbury Street store. I picked up Rho AR Bottom and neck gaiter yesterday and was helped through out by a friendly employee. Regardless of what you know (or don't) about performance sports clothing and the jargon, the staff takes their time to explain the products, the best use case and their limitations. Store is well stocked and they always have the size I want even if it isn't available on the rack. read more

High quality clothes, but they're a little baggy. Not flattering if you are trim. Their return process is a hassle if you buy online. In order to get a return authorization you have to call them between 9-5 M-F. Not convenient if you work and can't make personal calls. read more

I've always been the type who likes to buy things that I know will LAST. I don't mind spending a few extra dollars if it means I am buying something that I will have for years. That being said, its embarrassing the amount of Arc Teryx clothing I own!! No doubt, their jackets, shirts, and base layers are expensive - and the price tags still give me sticker shock when I'm browsing the store. But rest assured, you are paying for quality! I know many of you are lamenting the day that this company got "too big" and started sending a lot of their manufacturing offshore.. and I do to. The one jacket I have of theirs with the "Made in Canada" label is STILL the best one I own. But I can assure you, that even the recent stuff maintains its quality for years. Best of all, they stand behind all their gear as well! Anytime your shell fails or your boots leak - all it takes is a simple call to Arc Teryx headquarters (or a visit to the Newbury Street location) and they will apologize profusely while making sure you get a replacement or a repair. Arc Teryx is a very interesting company with a really cool history if anyone has the time to do a quick google search on how they grew into what they are today.. Their clothing is well worth the price and will perform as well or better than any of their competitors. And though its all available online and directly thru Arc Teryx; its always great to know that there is a store full of experts who are willing to let you try stuff on and answer your questions before you buy.
