The music was amazing, and Pastor Rob's sermon on the birth of Jesus truly resonated with me. The highlight was the ending--singing Silent Night by candlelight, a simple yet powerful symbol of hope.

We have been going to New North for several years and are happy to call it our " Church Home"…read more My husband and I wanted to find a group that is active in the community, has classes, inspired sermons and a variety of pastors! New North does all of those and more. We are both in different group Bible study- there are several types and times to choose from. I've learned so much from the leaders and other group members. I appreciate the women in Women's Bible Study- knowledgeable, curious, interesting, with many experiences to share. I feel a "community" in our groups and am encouraged to ask questions and learn more. The women in my group help and support each other, study and ask questions and we talk about issues too. Really helpful to me. The Hub is a gathering point outside the church after service, snacks and conversations. The messages are interesting, current references, scripture examples, Bible-based. Check it out, it's a friendly community.

I need more stars. They need a Ten. This is my Family's Church. Infodiva was a young lass here…read more Pilgrim UCC United Church of Christ has been in existence for 117 years. Hello People did you hear me??? 117 years Wow! My family has been coming here for 48 years. The Intelligent Revrend Harold L. Pierre is the pastor in 2007 and onward. His lovely wife, Sister Brendia Pierre has a special place in my heart. Recently she gave me a bag of much needed clothes from her own closet. Ocean View Community Church began as a Sunday School of four(4) persons in a store on Plymouth Ave in 1890. September 6, 1894 ,the church changed its name to " The Ocean View Congregational Church of San Francisco". The 1st church building at 144-146 Broad Street was deeded to the church for one dollar, in April of 1895 by Deacon S.Smith of the First Congregational Church of San Francisco. During the pastorate of Rev. Eugene Still in 1942-1945 the idea of relocating was born. Six lots were purchased at the present location of 400 Randolph Street. With the growth of this area, the church became too small and the church deceided to relocate in order to better serve the community. Plans were made to build a larger church. Many fundraising activities were held to raise money and a large portion of the labor was done by volunteer help. The present church building was dedicated August 5, 1951 I have great memories of growing up in this church. My neighborhood has always had a small close-knit community feel. Pilgrim UCC does alot for the neighborhood. All are welcome so please come on down. Randolph Street has changed and morphed over the years. It can be quite scary down there at times. The members can tell you stories of incidents that have happened during Sunday services. I am not a member. I am a fan and supporter. Infodiva reppin history for you don't knows OMI is rich with History. Get out there and learn your environment Yelpers. Peace , Love and Hair Grease. You heard??

I absolutely recommend Jehovah's Witnesses…read more Why? Because, I read the Bible on my own, with praying to God through Jesus as I understood to be the correct way to proceed from reading the Bible, and through that method came to understand it without theological input from any particular source. There was some theological input, widely accepted beliefs from all most or all religions claiming to be Christians that I had any sort of experience with through family, movies, etc. That made it hard to understand some parts of the Bible, but with much prayer I came to understand why that was so and moved past them. Then, later on, having already experienced other religions from their own perspective and heard the threats that people made toward me for "sounding like one of those ... witnesses." I prayed to be shown what is the true faith (as in most acceptable way for God to be worshipped). I am skipping over years of experiences, readings, prayers, times of having strange things happen that in no way could be explained as being anything else other than demonic activity or being saved by God through his holy spirit. At any rate, I started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses and found they believed the same things I did. Well, the big things. I did learn some things from them over time and I also found out that there were things I knew that they announced they have come to understand during the time of my association with them. Now, be advised: these are regular human beings who have chosen to serve God, in the main. That means there is a need to forgive and forget, sometimes hurt feelings, sometimes predators or liars sneaking in wearing sheep's clothing that hide their true nature. There is a need to purposely work at modesty and peace, and to exercise both free will and caution. I do believe it is the best way of living on this planet, at this time, though.
